Essentially, yes. Birch is a sub-brand owned by Helix. Birch was launched in 2019 by Helix to provide an organic option. By comparison, Helix is a more typical hybrid utilizing memory foam, poly foam, and non-organic / non-natural materials.

Birch uses natural materials, like organic wool, organic cotton, natural latex, etc.

Helix provides a wider material range to accommodate the needs and preferences of different sleeper types.

Helix Sleep (along with Birch and another company, Brooklyn Bedding) was acquired by Cerberus Capital Management in September, 2021. Together they formed the 3Z mattress brand.

Cerberus is an American private equity firm based out of New York City and run by Steve Feinberg.
