The Sealy Posturepedic Elite High Point II is a 14.50″ memory foam hybrid mattress made of memory foam, poly foam, pocketed coils, and a support foam base. This mattress is topped with a thin, non-quilted cover.

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite High Point II is available in three firmness levels — soft, medium, and firm. I tested the medium version, which was a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale, giving it a medium-firm feel.

This mattress has moderate sinkage and very low levels of bounce. Contour levels are balanced, making this mattress an attractive option for sleepers with a wider range of positions or preferences.

In our performance tests, this mattress earned an overall score of 8.64, ranking the mattress in the bottom 47% of all mattresses tested to date.

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite High Point II is a 14.50″ memory foam hybrid mattress with an overall performance level that is slightly better than average, but with a price tag that is significantly more expensive than the average price.

Advantages of the High Point Hybrid include better cooling performance, better motion isolation, better edge support, and exceptional pressure relief.

This mattress has a 5.50″ comfort layer, which is 1.12″ thicker than the average comfort layer.

Neutral Factors

Considering neutral factors, this Sealy has moderate levels of sinkage and very low levels of bounce. These factors are “neutral” since different sleepers can and will have different preferences as to what they think is “best”.

If you’re looking for an active, highly responsive feel, the Sealy likely isn’t it. But if you want something with less bounce, these factors could be advantageous.

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid Albany II is the least expensive version. It also has the thinnest comfort layer and is only offered in a medium feel.

In the mid-tier, we have the Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid Brenham II, which is 0.5” thicker than the Albany due to a 2.5” memory foam layer. However, it is only available in a soft and firm feel, with no medium option.

Finally, we have the Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II. This is the thickest mattress at 14.0” (we measured 14.5″), uses the most memory foam, and, according to Sealy, includes “cooling foams”. Finally, the High Point II offers the most firmness options, with soft, medium, and firm all available. However, it is also the most expensive, starting at $2.3K for a Queen.

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not experience any significant level of heat retention around my body.

This mattress has a few different design choices and materials that are helping to improve cooling. First up, we have a thin, non-quilted cover that aids in breathability.

In addition, the cover has a slight cool-to-the-touch feel. To be fair, it’s far from the best cooling covers we’ve seen, but it does provide a notable cooling effect when you first get into bed.

Moving on, we also have the hybrid design of the mattress itself, which is providing additional airflow and breathability for the mattress at large.

Lastly, the topmost comfort foam is a gel infused memory foam, which helps to pull heat away from the surface of the mattress.

In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 90.6° F. This is 0.3° warmer than the average of 90.3° F, based on all of our tests to date.

After getting off the mattress, the temperature declined by 3.7 degrees from minutes 0 to 1, which is 1.1 degrees less cool than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.8 degrees.

When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is excellent.

Sinkage Test

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II has moderate sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.21″. This is 0.05″ less sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.26″, based on all of our tests to date.

The mattress creates a balanced body contouring hug. That said, this mattress is still very much a memory foam hybrid and has a more pronounced memory foam feel.

This mattress is equipped with 3.5” of memory foam. The mattress creates a notable memory foam feel as it hugs and contours to the body. That said, the body-contouring hug is more restrained compared to many other memory foam and memory foam hybrid mattresses we’ve tested.

For example, Tempurpedic’s memory foam has a very dramatic, very exacting hug around the body. To be clear, Sealy’s Elite Hybrid isn’t that extreme, but it’s also fair to say this is definitely a memory foam feel. To be comfortable on this mattress, you’ll need to prefer the feel of memory foam

Motion Transfer Test

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II has a very low level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 6.78 m/s². This is 23% less motion transfer than the average of 8.79 m/s².

That lower level of motion transfer is primarily the product of the thick 3.5” memory foam comfort layer. The memory foam greatly absorbs energy and mitigates bounce.

In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.2 seconds. Motion drops off notably thereafter until 0.5 seconds, when we begin a more gradual energy decline.

By 1.14 seconds, we’ve returned to near-zero levels of energy, which is 0.23 seconds longer than the average motion duration of 0.91 seconds.

While motion duration was a bit longer than average, the motion intensity was considerably less than average. As a result, I expect most sleepers will find this level of motion transfer to be more than satisfactory.

Response Test

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II is a mixed bag for material responsiveness, with a fast mostly recovered response time and a slow fully recovered response time.

In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.4 seconds, which is 0.02 seconds faster than the average of 0.42 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.

In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 1.4 seconds, which is 0.37 seconds slower than the average of 1.03 seconds.

The slower fully recovered response time results from the 3.5” memory foam layers. Those layers take longer to fully recover back to their original shapes after they’ve been compressed. While they were certainly slower than average considering all mattress types, they are also far from the slowest recovery memory foams we’ve seen.

Many more traditional memory foams can take 3-5 seconds to return to their original shape (including Tempurpedic Adapt, which took 3.8 seconds in our tests).

As a result, I think it’s fair to look at the Sealy Posturepedic Elite’s material recovery speed in context with other memory foams, where I’d describe it as more typical. All that said, if you are sensitive to feeling “stuck” on the mattress or otherwise need a mattress with better ease of movement, then this mattress is probably not the right choice for you.

For sleepers who understand and prefer the feel of memory foam, this slightly slower material recovery speed is simply one of the byproducts of memory foam.

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II has a very low level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 4.66″. This is 3.99″ less bounce than the average of 8.65″, based on all of our tests to date.

The lower level of bounce is a product of the thick 3.5” memory foam comfort layer. Memory foam greatly absorbs and disperses energy.

As a result, there is simply less energy that can be returned as bounce. The lower bounce is a major reason why we see motion transfer earning such a good score. However, that lower bounce does mean that sex is going to be more strenuous and tiring.

While lying directly on the edge of the mattress, I felt that the support was excellent in all sleeping positions. This mattress is equipped with 2 rows of reinforced coils that run along the entire perimeter of the mattress. These coils appear to be having a significant positive impact on edge support.

Oftentimes, we see memory foam and memory foam hybrid mattresses struggling more with edge support, as the memory foam’s natural body-hugging properties can create a weakening effect on edge support.

However, that wasn’t the case here. Certainly, the reinforced coils are helping, and the quality of the memory foam seems to be having a positive impact as well.

Overall, I’m pleased with this level of edge support performance, and I expect most sleepers will find it more than satisfactory.

Sex Test

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II has fair sex performance. On the positive side, we saw perfect 10/10 scores for edge support, noise, and pressure relief. The mattress is incredibly comfortable, quiet, and has a robust edge, which extends the usable surface area of the mattress.

In addition, we see cooling earning an excellent score as well, further aiding in the total comfort dynamic on the mattress.

All that said, where we see less-than-great performance is bounce, which we measured at 4.66”. This is significantly less bounce than average. When it comes to sex, more bounce is almost always better than less.

Simply put, this just isn’t enough bounce to create ideal amorous activity performance. The lack of bounce makes sex more strenuous and more tiring.

To be fair, this isn’t a problem with the Sealy Posturepedic Elite specifically, but rather most memory foam and memory foam hybrid mattresses. Memory foam simply absorbs a high degree of bounce by its nature.

As a result, if you know you want a memory foam mattress, you should be prepared to deal with worse sex performance, regardless of the brand.

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II has an outstanding level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no significant pressure points on my body. Quite the opposite, in fact, I found this mattress to be incredibly comfortable to lie on.

Beyond simply having more foam than average, I’m also pleased with the foam quality. In our foam density tests, we measured reasonably good foam density levels.

Certainly not the best we’ve ever seen, but still respectable levels I’d describe as quality foams. Fundamentally, this feels like a memory foam mattress.

The thin, non-quilted cover helps create more direct engagement with the memory foam layers, which are then able to deliver a more noticeable body-contouring hug around the body.

To be clear, it’s not as extreme as Tempurpedic’s body contouring hug and some other memory foam mattresses we’ve tested, but it’s still a more noted hug than non-memory foam hybrid mattresses we’ve tested.

In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 0.60, which is well within the 1.0 PSI threshold I ideally want to see.

In our foam density tests, we measured poly foams at a 1.54 to 1.71 PCF and the memory foams at a 2.25 to 3.11 PCF. The poly foam range is fine and about what I expect given their relative thickness and position in the mattress. So no issues there.

The 2.25 PCF memory foam is also fine, but not ideal, especially given its topmost position in the mattress. I’m more pleased with a 3.11 PCF memory foam in the core, which I’d describe as a good density level.

Higher density foams typically perform better, last longer, and sag less. In general, I’m happy enough with these foam density levels, but it’s also fair to say they could be better. Lastly, our digital caliper measured the inner coils at a 15 gauge, which is a reasonably thick wire.

Moving on, this mattress is equipped with a zoned pocketed coil unit. The center third of the mattress has an extra set of coils designed to improve support where most of the body weight will be on the mattress.

Based on all of my tests to date, an analysis of the materials, and my subjective experiences, I’m confident most sleepers will find the support on the Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II to be outstanding.

The Cover

The Sealy Posturepedic Elite Hybrid High Point II has a thin cover that is integrated with cooling fibers for a “cool-to-the-touch” feel.

This cover is similar to the cooling cover used on the Albany II and Brenham II mattresses.

The Comfort Layer

The comfort layer is 5.50″ thick and made of three layers of foam. Directly below the thin cover is a 1.0″ memory foam followed by a 2.5″ memory foam.

The bottom of the comfort layer is a 1.0″ poly foam, which acts as a transitional material between the comfort layers and the support system below.

The Support Layer

The support layer is 9.00″ thick and made of an 8.0″ pocketed coil support system followed by a 1.0″ support foam base. The coils are zoned to provide targeted support and pressure relief where needed.

There is a bit of perimeter edge foam for better support when sitting at or near the edge of the mattress.

Product Evolution

The Posturepedic lineup by Sealy is well-established, but the Elite Hybrid specifically is relatively new. It appears that this model launched in 2021, alongside the Albany and Brenham models.

In early 2025, Sealy completed a major redesign of the Posturepedic collection.

The High Point II effectively replaced the original High Point and shifted into the newly created Posturepedic Elite collection.

Since its redesign in 2025, there have been no major changes made to this Elite Hybrid.
