Best President’s Day Mattress Deals
Winkbed | Saatva | Amerisleep | Bear | GhostBed | Nolah | Helix | Brooklyn Bedding | Nectar | Zoma | Full List By Brand
Winkbed Original
Best For
- Exceptional pressure relief and contour
- Extremely fast response time
- 3 different firmness options
Considerations
- Higher 13.5″ profile height
- $49 fee for an exchange, returns are free
- More expensive than the average hybrid
Our Verdict
The WinkBed is a 13.5″ hybrid mattress that uses pocketed coils and a layer of gel-infused foam to provide comfort and support, with a Euro top cover.
It offers a balanced feel with deep sinkage (8% deeper than average) and moderate bounce (2% more bounce than average). Despite the deep sinkage, this mattress feels cool, has a balanced and even contouring hug, and has a very fast response time with an active feel.
This mattress is available in three different firmnesses—softer (4), luxury firm (6), and firmer (7), where 10 is the most firm. There is also the Winkbed Plus, designed for heavier-weighted sleepers, which has a slightly firm (7) firmness.
Winkbed has a fantastic performance score of 9.95 overall, which ranks it as the #1 hybrid, as well as within the top 1% among all mattress types we’ve tested to date.
The Winkbed costs $1,499 for a queen, which is 15% higher than the average hybrid mattress, but given its performance advantages, the value is still exceptional.
I would recommend the Winkbed for sleepers who are looking for the best all-around mattress. Winkbed has a balanced and even feel in terms of contour and hug, while achieving incredibly high performance in all of our tests.

Type: Hybrid
Firmness: Soft (4), Medium-Firm (6), Slightly Firm (7)
Saatva Classic
Best For
- Options—3 firmness levels and 2 mattress height options
- Fast response time with coil-on-coil design
- Fantastic cooling performance
Considerations
- High levels of bounce with 14.67″ in our tests
- More traditional feel due to coil-on-coil design
Our Verdict
The Saatva Classic is a coil-on-coil mattress with an overall thickness of 11.5″ or 14.5″ depending on personal preference (price is the same for both thicknesses). It uses two layers of coils, topped with a small amount of comfort foam within a euro-top cover.
Saatva has a more traditional coil feel and less foam than a more typical hybrid mattress. This combination of materials gives the mattress deep sinkage and extremely high bounce, while retaining low levels of motion transfer (something other coil mattresses tend to struggle with).
The Saatva is available in three firmness levels—Plush Soft (3.5), Luxury Firm (5.5), or Firm (8), where 10 is the most firm.
This mattress has a fantastic performance score of 9.95 overall, which ranks it as the number one coil mattress, as well as within the top 1% among all mattress types we’ve tested to date.
It costs $1,696 for a queen mattress. Compared to other coil mattresses we’ve tested to date, this is 10% less than average—a savings of $182. Compared to the average hybrid ($1,352), it costs $344 more.
I would recommend the Saatva Classic for sleepers who enjoy a more traditional coil-based mattress feel.

Type: Coil-on-Coil
Firmness: Extra Soft (3.5), Medium (5.5), Firm (8)
Amerisleep AS3
Best For
- Extremely low level of motion transfer
- Fantastic pressure relief
- Memory foam contouring hug, with great cooling (hybrid variant is best)
Considerations
- Sitting edge support leaves something to be desired
- Fast response at 0.5 seconds, but not the absolute fastest on the market
Our Verdict
The Amerisleep AS3 Hybrid mattress is a 12″ tall hybrid with a thin, washable cover and a modern memory foam feel.
It has a 3″ top layer of memory foam, which provides hug and contour, while balanced by a pocketed coil base for limited heat retention and fast response.
This mattress is available in one firmness, 5 out of 10, which is a medium feel. For a softer feel, check out the Amerisleep AS5 Hybrid.
This mattress has a fantastic performance score of 9.77 overall, which ranks as #1 for all memory foam hybrids and in the top 6% among all mattress types we’ve tested to date.
The AS3 hybrid mattress costs $1,499 for a queen, which is 3% higher than the average price for a hybrid, comparing all hybrids tested to date. The difference in a queen mattress is only $56, so fairly negligible, especially given its high performance.
I would recommend the Amerisleep AS3 Hybrid for sleepers who like the feel of memory foam, but also want improved cooling, more bounce, better sex performance, and great edge support.

Type: Memory Foam (or hybrid)
Firmness: Medium (5)
Bear Star Hybrid
Best For
- Fast “mostly recovered” response time—0.3 seconds
- Exceptional edge support
- Side sleepers looking for deeper sinkage and more contour
Considerations
- Slower “complete” material response time—1.8 seconds
- Low motion transfer, but not as low as what we saw on the Bear Elite hybrid
Our Verdict
The Bear Star Hybrid, formerly named the Bear Hybrid, is designed as a budget-friendly alternative to the luxury Bear Elite Hybrid. It has a combination of poly foam, memory foam, and pocketed coils all wrapped within a plush, 2.0″ quilted cover.
It has a balanced feel with moderate bounce and very deep sinkage. This can be a great pick for side sleepers looking for an extra degree of contour.
The Bear Star Hybrid is available in a single firmness, 6 out of 10, with a medium-firm feel.
This mattress has an overall performance of 9.66, placing it in the top 25% of all mattresses tested to date.
Price-wise, it is $1,299 for a queen, 10% less than the average hybrid and about $200 less than the Bear Elite Hybrid. This makes the Star Hybrid a fantastic value if you’re looking for a high-performing hybrid with a medium-firm feel that won’t break the bank.

Type: Hybrid
Firmness: Medium-Firm (6)
GhostBed Classic
Best For
- Low levels of motion transfer
- Moderate levels of total bounce (8.08″), slightly less bounce than average (9.56″)
- Budgets under $1000
Considerations
- Higher levels of heat retention compared to others (especially hybrids)
- Dense support foams may not be ideal for petite sleepers (110 pounds or less)
Our Verdict
The Ghostbed Luxe has a profile height of 11.5″ and contains gel-infused poly foam, a phase change cover, transitional poly foam, and a support foam base.
Despite using 100% foam (which can be more prone to heat retention) the Ghostbed Luxe maintained fantastic cooling during our tests. It has extremely deep sinkage and a dramatic hug, but retains excellent cooling and an extremely fast material response time.
This mattress comes in a single firmness with a medium-firm feel, 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale, where 01 is the most firm.
The Ghostbed Luxe has a performance score of 9.68, which is higher than the average mattress performance score of 9.52. It is the #1 ranked memory foam mattress we’ve tested to date.
For a queen mattress, it’ll cost you $1,548, which is 23% more than the average memory foam mattress. Ghostbed’s high-performance foams and fabrics notably increase the price, however, it’s also the reason for its strong performance.
I would recommend the GhostBed Luxe for sleepers who love the feel of memory foam, including the dramatic and exacting body contouring hug.

Firmness: Medium-Firm (5.5)
Nolah Evolution 15
Best For
- Exceptional cooling
- Excellent edge support, only 3.25″ when sitting at the edge
- Deep sinkage and contour, great for side sleepers
Considerations
- Higher levels of motion transfer—11.10 m/s² compared to the average of 7.97 m/s²
- 15″ profile may be too high for personal preference
Our Verdict
The Nolah Evolution is a 15″ is a high-profile hybrid with a quilted euro top cover, poly foam comfort layer, and pocketed coil support system.
This mattress offers moderate bounce and deep sinkage. Despite the deep sinkage, it still maintained good cooling performance.
It is available in three firmness levels—Plush (4 out of 10), Medium (5.5 out of 10), or Firm (8 out of 10).
Looking at overall performance, the Nolah has a score of 9.77, ranking this mattress in the top 5% of all mattresses tested to date.
The Nolah Evolution 15 is $1,624 for a queen mattress, making it 15% more than the average hybrid. But bear in mind, you’re also getting a mattress that has better overall performance than average and an overall thickness that is 3.0″ thicker than average.

Helix Midnight Luxe
Best For
- Excellent pressure relief
- Low levels of motion transfer with a thicker 14″ profile
- Good edge support
Considerations
- Priced 46% higher than the average hybrid
- Faster response time could mean less contour for some sleepers
Our Verdict
The Helix Midnight Luxe mattress has a 14” thick profile, 2” thicker than the standard Helix mattresses. This extra thickness contributes to lower levels of motion transfer, better pressure relief, and moderate levels of sinkage.
In our performance tests, the Midnight Luxe scored in the top 7% of all mattresses tested to date.
For comparison, the standard Helix Midnight scored in the top 66% of all mattresses tested to date. The Helix Midnight Elite, the top-level Helix scored in the top 4% of all mattresses.
The Luxe collection provides a great balance of performance and value…especially when you can take advantage of additional President’s Day savings.

- Good cooling with coil and foam materials

- High bounce (9.99″ total)
Our Verdict
The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is an 11″ hybrid mattress with a latex-like poly foam comfort layer and pocketed coil support base.
It has a balanced feel with moderate sinkage and moderate levels of bounce. The only slight disadvantage to this mattress is higher levels of motion transfer than average.

Zoma Hybrid
Best For
- Pressure relief is truly exceptional. Even lightweight joints and body parts and gentled cradled and relaxed.

Considerations

- Edge support while sitting is good, but not great.

The Zoma Hybrid mattress has a 12” thickness and is made up of gel memory foam poly foam and pocketed coils.
This mattress has deep sinkage and moderate bounce, giving it a more dramatic contour.
The Zoma Hybrid is available in a single firmness with a medium feel (5 out of 10 on the firmness scale).
