The SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid has good, but not great cooling performance. During our tests, I felt a slight to moderate level of heat retention.

• Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
• Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
• Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes

Most of the heat was isolated to my mid-section, hips, and butt, which sank more deeply into the mattress.

Looking at our objective data we measured a maximum surface level temperature of 90.2°F. This is 0.7° warmer than the average max temp based on all of our tests to date.

While the max temperature left much to be desired, the heat dissipation was good. From 0 to 1 minutes the temperature declined by 4.3°, from 90.2 to 85.9° F.

This is 0.5° better than the average. Heat dissipation continued gradually from there, ending at 82.6°, a total drop of 7.6° F.

Hybrid mattresses tend to do better for cooling, as the increase in airflow helps the mattress to breathe better.

Heat Dissipation Over Time

However, the foams used in the SweetNight Dreamy hybrid do retain more than other mattresses on average. I would not describe this as a “hot mattress”.

However, naturally warm sleepers may still find it sleeps too warm to be comfortable.

The SweetNight Dream Hybrid has a minimal level of pressure point sinkage. In our tests, we measured a sinkage depth of 1.89”. This is 0.36” less sinkage than the average of 2.25” (based on all of our tests to date).

While lighter areas of your body will receive a more minimal level of sinkage (as indicated by the 12-pound medicine ball test), heavier portions of the body will sink more deeply.

During our tests, my mid-section in particular felt that it sank to a more moderate depth, engaging more notably with the pocketed coil layers. The SweetNight hybrid has a contouring hug around the body.

With 1.0” of gel memory foam on top it creates a sharper hug compared to the more traditional coil, latex, or poly foam mattresses. It’s not as dramatic as all memory foam mattresses or hybrid mattresses with a thicker memory foam comfort layer, but still leans in the direction of “significant contouring hug”.

The hybrid design does help to balance it out compared to all foam mattresses. For sleepers who like the more dense feel and more significant hug, it can be a good choice.

The SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid has a very high level of motion transfer. In our tests, we measured 14.33 m/s² of acceleration range. This is more than double the average motion transfer of 7.05 m/s².

The relatively thin comfort layer means that there isn’t much material between sleepers and the high-motion pocketed coils. As a result, energy rebounds more significantly, creating high motion.

If we look at our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion from 0.00 to 0.21 seconds. A moderate level of motion persists until 0.85 seconds, before returning to near-zero levels.

Despite the higher motion transfer peaks, the motion duration is a bit of a silver lining. The mattresses with the lowest motion are able to disperse all energy within 0.3 seconds.

Certainly, the SweetNight isn’t at that level, but by 0.21 seconds the highest motion has been expended. As a result, the mattress has a high motion intensity, but the duration of the highest motion is relatively short.

The SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid has an extremely fast material response time. In our tests, we measured a mostly recovered response time of 0.3 seconds and a fully recovered response time of 0.5 seconds.

The very fastest responding mattresses are able to rebound in 0.2 and 0.3 seconds, respectively. SweetNight isn’t to that level, but it’s not far off and by any standard would be categorized as a quick-responding mattress.

The faster response helps sleepers to not feel stuck and makes it easier to move around on the mattress. No major complaints from my end when it comes to response time.

The SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid has a high level of bounce. In our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 11.63”. This is 2.06” more bounce than the average of 9.57” (based on all of our tests to date).

As with motion transfer, the thin comfort layer and hybrid design creates much of this increase in bounce. With less foam to suppress energy, objects and sleepers are able to sink more quickly and deeply into the pocketed coil system.

This allows high levels of energy to be returned by the mattress, creating a higher level of bounce.

While bounce is more of a preferential factor, in general, I like to see 8-12” of bounce. This is enough bounce to experience the benefits of bounce, including ease of movement, traditional feel, and improved sex.

At 11.63” the SweetNight is on the high end, but still within the ideal bounce range that I look for.

Edge support on the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid leaves much to be desired. First, let’s talk about sitting edge support.

In our sitting edge support tests, we measured 5.5” of sitting sinkage compression.

The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.

This is 0.95” more sinkage than the average. However, even being average isn’t good when it comes to sitting sinkage.

In general, I am looking for 4.0” of sitting compression or less.

At 5.5” of edge compression there is a near collapse of materials and the mattress just doesn’t feel supportive to sit on.

Lying edge support is also lacking. There is just no sugarcoating it. I did not feel particularly well supported when lying directly on the edge of the mattress.

I am a little surprised edge support isn’t better, as the mattress uses perimeter edge support foam. Despite this fact, the foam just doesn’t seem to provide much pushback or support at the edge.

There is a high degree of sinkage and a lack of support. You could sleep near the edge, but not on it. Most sleepers would want to be at least a few inches away from the absolute edge to feel well-supported.

Our sex rating formula looks at 5 different factors weighted based on their importance.

All factors are not equal in terms of significance, but each plays an important role.

For the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid, these individual factors generated a sex score of 9.6.

While bounce is high, edge support is definitely lacking. These two factors alone make up 80% of the formula. Noise, pressure relief, and cooling are all good, but not great and don’t really do any favors to raise the score higher.

Overall, sex performance on the Dreamy Hybrid can be expected to be good, but not fantastic.

The SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid has good, but not great pressure relief. In our tests, I found that pressure relief was somewhat lacking.

The mattress has 3.0” of comfort foam, which certainly helps to keep the costs lower, however, it also has an ill impact on pressure relief.

With only 3” of comfort foam sleepers are more likely to sink through the foams and into the less pressure relieving support coils.

Lighter-weight sleepers are more likely to find the pressure relief to be acceptably good, while heavier-weight sleepers are less likely to find it adequate.

Moderate-weight sleepers could go either direction, with moderate-weight side sleepers more likely to find it lacking.

Off-gassing of the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid is moderate right out of the box.

The odor smelled for 8 days, which is a little longer than average, but also pretty typical for memory foam / poly foam off-gassing. SweetNight did include a deodorizer pack, which certainly helped with the smell, however it still remained strong for a long period of time.

Considering the lower price point that SweetNight is hitting, I think this trial period and warranty length are more than reasonable.

The Dreamy Hybrid has a medium-firm firmness of 6.5 out of 10 on the firmness scale.

There is only one firmness available in this mattress, so if you’re looking for a soft or firm option, you’ll need to shop around a bit more.

Support on the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid is good, but not great. Most of my support concerns are related to the limited 3” comfort foam.

With a less thick comfort foam layer, sleepers sink through the foams and into the support coils, which create pressure relief.

Pressure points can create support problems for many body types and sleeping positions, but especially side sleepers and heavier-weight sleepers.

Lighter-weight sleepers, as well as back and stomach sleepers, are more likely to feel that support is sufficient.

The coil unit that SweetNight uses seems reasonably good, especially considering the price point of the mattress. However, it’s not the most high-end unit I’ve seen.

The coil unit’s relative performance shows more notably with the lackluster edge support and deep compression support dynamic.

While lying on my side I felt more notable pressure points, especially in my mid-section, which sink deeper into the mattress. While my assessment of the support may seem harsh, for this price point, I would still consider this to be a reasonably good level of performance. 

The table below shows that in most cases, this mattress would be sufficiently supportive.

Design

The SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid is a hybrid mattress that comes in three different firmnesses—8″, 10″, or 12″. It has a medium-firm feel and is designed as a budget-friendly hybrid with a feel and firmness to suit a wide range of sleepers.

Materials

There are four layers on the Dreamy Hybrid. From top to bottom, the layers are listed below.

• 1.0″ gel memory foam
• 1.5″ poly foam
• 7.5″ support coils
• 1.5″ support foam

Although this mattress comes in three different profile heights, we went with the 12″ and found it to be a little short. When we measured this mattress in-house, we found the total height to be closer to 11.5″.

This isn’t a huge difference but is worth noting.

The Cover

The cover of the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid is a soft, jacquard cover that is breathable with a subtle texture to it. It is designed to be anti-pilling and is inspired by the contour lines from the Grand Canyon. 

As the cover wraps around the sides, the fabric switches to a reinforced darker fabric for more durability with a bright orange accent where the transition happens.

As an added bonus, the cover is made from textile materials certified under STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX.

The Comfort Layer

Beneath the cover is the comfort layer. This layer is made of gel memory foam (blue) and poly foam (white). The green foam shown in the photo below is actually the beginning of the support foam, which we’ll get into more below.

These foams are Certi-PUR certified and the mattress is also fiberglass free.

The Support Layer

The support layer below the comfort foam is a system of pocketed coils. These steel-tempered coils are encased in fabric, which helps to keep the mattress quiet and also limit motion transfer (albeit, it doesn’t do a great job of handling motion transfer).

The coils are wrapped in foam on the top and sides. The top foam acts as a transition between the comfort foam and the support layer, while the perimeter foam is designed to improve edge support.

Two-Zoned Support

This mattress uses coils to create a two-zoned pocketed coil base with slightly variable firmness in different areas, to properly support and contour as needed.

Product Evolution

The SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid mattress launched in the Summer of 2022. There have been no changes to materials or design since the mattress launched as of the publish date on this review.

How is the SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid Different?

There are a few quick ways that the Dreamy Hybrid differentiates from other mattresses in the hybrid market.

#1. Variable Thicknesses

This mattress is available in three thicknesses—8″, 10″, or 12″. Note: Not all sizes are available in all thicknesses. The table below shows what sizes are available in what thickness:

#2. Zoned Support

This mattress uses a two-zone support system with variation in the coils to create two different zones, unique in firmness and pressure relief.

#3. Price

This mattress sells for as low as $282 for an 8″ thick Twin or up to $559 for a 12″ thick King mattress. A King-sized hybrid mattress for under $600 is a highly competitive price point.

Is this a perfect mattress? Of course not. But if you’re on a tight budget it will certainly deliver a good quality mattress at a low price. The added benefit of the 100-night trial period makes this a low-risk mattress to try.

Other Mattresses to Consider

The SweetNight Dreamy Hybrid is a good mattress, but not necessarily a great mattress. But to be fair, the price point is significantly less expensive than many other hybrids on the market.
