Our Verdict
The SweetNight Twilight is a hybrid mattress with a medium-firm feel. It is made of memory foam, transitional poly foam, and support pocketed coil base. It is available in two heights—10″ or 12″ and priced significantly lower than average.
In our performance tests, the Twilight had a well-balanced score, only really struggling with higher levels of motion transfer. Pressure relief would likely be suitable for back or stomach sleepers, but side sleepers may want to use caution.
This mattress has a distinct “floating” feel and while some sleepers enjoy this feel, side sleepers tend to find the push-back off-putting and need more contour.
The Twilight is far from a perfect mattress. However, given the price point it remains a solid value pick.

How is Sweetnight Twilight Different?
The SweetNight Twilight has a slightly lower performance than average, but also a price that is 60% less than the average—looking at hybrid mattresses exclusively.
Advantages
Advantages of this mattress include a slightly faster response time, better edge support, and a slightly thicker mattress thickness (by 0.1″).
In addition to these small factors, the bigger advantage is likely the price tag. Costly only 40% of the cost of an average hybrid mattress, if you’re looking to save money, the Twilight hybrid can be the ticket.
Neutral Factors
Looking at preferential factors, the SweetNight Twilight has slightly less sinkage than average (6% less) and also slightly more bounce (4% more bounce). While these factors are neither good nor bad, they can be helpful when thinking about a sleeper’s personal preferences.

During our tests, I felt a slight to moderate level of heat retention around my body. Most notably, we have a more traditional visco elastic poly foam that is likely the greatest single contribution to the heat retention issues.

While the hybrid design does help to improve breathability, it’s not enough to cover the 4.0” of memory and poly foam comfort layers that are holding onto more heat.
All that said, this isn’t a “hot” mattress by any stretch. There are absolutely warmer mattresses on the market.
Heat Dissipation Over Time
Even so, if you do describe yourself as a “hot” or “warm” sleeper, the level of heat retention will likely be problematic for you.

The SweetNight Twilight has a moderate level of sinkage. In our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.06”. This is 0.11” less sinkage than the average of 2.17” (based on all of our tests to date).

The Twilight creates a very restrained level of body contouring hug. At 2.06” the mattress is over the threshold to be classified as “moderate” sinkage, but only by 0.06”.
The restrained hug causes you to sleep more on “top” of the mattress as opposed to sinking down “in” the mattress. This feeling isn’t necessarily good or bad, but it is a specific feel. If you desire lots of sinkage with a high degree of contour and hug the SweetNight Twilight won’t be the right choice for you.
Motion Transfer Test
The SweetNight Twilight has a moderate level of motion transfer. In our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 9.36 m/s². This is 13.0% (1.08 m/s²) more motion than the average of 8.28 m/s².
The pocketed coil support base does create more bounce and motion. However, the 4.0” of comfort foam on top helps absorb a sizable portion of energy and motion.

When we look at our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we see the highest motion from 0 to 0.14 seconds. Motion remains moderately high until 0.63 seconds.
By 0.91 seconds we return to near-zero levels of energy. Mattresses with the lowest motion are able to disperse all energy within 0.3 seconds. Needless to say, the SweetNight Twilight is far from that mark.
Nevertheless, given the relatively restrained level of motion peaks I don’t expect this level of motion will be problematic for most sleepers.
Response Test
The SweetNight Twilight has an extremely fast material response. In our tests, we measured a mostly recovered response time of 0.3 seconds and a fully recovered response time of 0.9 seconds.

The mostly recovered response is 0.11 seconds faster than the average of 0.41 seconds (based on all of our tests to date). This response speed is fantastic, especially for a mattress that contains memory foam.
However, the fully recovered response time was a little worse than the average of 0.84 seconds. Even so, the fully recovered response isn’t slow by any stretch.

The responsiveness speeds aren’t at the same level as highly responsive poly foams, coils, or latex, but for most sleepers, they should be sufficiently quick enough to avoid feeling stuck.

The SweetNight Twilight has a high level of bounce. In our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 10.09”. This is 0.44” more bounce than the average of 9.65”.

Given the memory foam in the top layers, I was a little surprised to see bounce exceed the average. However, the coil unit seems to have a good deal of bounce to it, overcoming the energy dissipation of the top comfort layers.

Ideally, I like to see 8-12” of total bounce. At this range it’s a sweet spot that maximizes the benefits of ease of movement and sex while keeping motion in check. At 10.09” the Twilight is within my ideal range.
Edge Support Test
Edge support on the SweetNight Twilight was a mixed bag. Sitting edge support was excellent, but lying edge support was only good.

In our sitting edge support tests, we measured a sitting edge sinkage of 3.25”. This is 0.92” less sitting edge compression than the average of 4.17”. Even when sitting directly on the edge I felt well supported.

That said, lying edge support left something to be desired. During our tests, I did not feel well supported when lying directly on the edge of the mattress. The pillow top creates more of a downward angle away from the mattress at the edge.

When you lie on the edge the body feels slightly angled, creating less than great support. On the plus side, it’s not a squishy feeling. In any case, most sleepers will want to move at least a few inches away from the absolute edge to feel well-supported.
Sex Test
The best mattresses for sex have high bounce, good edge support, quiet materials, and good pressure relief and cooling.

For the SweetNight Twilight, these individual factors generated a sex score of 9.9.
This mattress has a high level of bounce and excellent edge support. These two factors alone carry 80% of the sex score.
Noise is also minimal with very good pressure relief and cooling. All things considered, the sex performance is fantastic on the Twilight hybrid. Compared to most foam mattresses (or really any mattress with less bounce or sloppy edges), this would be a step up in terms of sex quality.

In our tests, I generally felt that the mattress did a good job of relieving pressure. However, I did experience noted pressure points in my shoulders. In terms of design, the Twilight has the basic material design I am looking for.
We have a good total thickness of 12” with a 4.0” comfort layer. On average, we see comfort layers at 4.2” thick. The SweetNight Twilight is a little less than that, but nothing too dramatic.
Even so, the foam quality and foam feel just don’t blow me away. The feeling is a little stiff. The mattress creates more of a floating feeling and doesn’t have much in the way of a body-contouring hug. It’s these attributes that limit the pressure relief.

Off-gassing odors are strong as soon as the Twilight mattress is unboxed. The smell takes 10 days to fully dissipate.

How firm is the SweetNight Twilight?
The SweetNight Twilight mattress has a firmness of 6 out of 10, where 10 is the most firm. This creates a medium-firm feel, which is the most popular firmness among most mattresses we test.
The vast majority of sleepers need and prefer a mattress in the 5-7 firmness range. So a 6 out of 10 is a perfect sweet spot for firmness.
Support & Sleeping Positions
The SweetNight Twilight has excellent support. In our tests, I felt well-supported in all sleeping positions.
The mattress uses an 8.0” coil unit for support. This is thicker than the average support layer, which is 7.7” (based on all of our tests to date).
In terms of pure support, I don’t expect the Twilight will disappoint most sleepers, provided you’re comfortable with the pressure relief and comfort dynamic.
As we discussed earlier, the Twilight creates more of a floating on-top-of-the-mattress feel.
In addition, the comfort layers create a little more stiffness (which further reinforces that floating feel). For stomach and back sleepers, this feel can work great.
However, most side sleepers will need a little more sinkage, hug, and contour to feel better supported. As a result, I would recommend this mattress more for stomach and back sleepers and less so for side sleepers.

In total, there are four distinct layers on the SweetNight Twilight hybrid. From top to bottom, these layers include:
- 1.75″ quilted cover
- 1.25″ memory foam

The Cover
The cover of this mattress is fairly thick and plush, with quilted detailing. SweetNight classifies the cover as a pillow-top, but is non-traditional in that the edges of the cover are sewn flush to the rest of the mattress.

The quilted cover has a total thickness of 1.75″ including the fabric cover and quilted foam below.
The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer below the quilted cover is made up of two foam layers—a 1.25″ memory foam top layer (blue) and a 1.0″ transitional poly foam layer (gray) below.
The poly foam helps to transition sleeper weight and pressure points into the support layer below.
The Support Layer
The support layer is made of 8.0″ pocketed support coils. Each coil is individually encased with a thin fabric that not only helps limit noise between the coils, but also allows each coil to move independently of each other.

The SweetNight Twilight mattress was originally launched in September 2020. Since its release, there have been no notable changes to the design or materials used in the mattress.
