Cooling Test
The results of our cooling test showed that even though the eLuxury mattress is made of memory foam, it has surprisingly good cooling properties and the results were actually quite a bit cooler than I expected.
Baseline Temp.
84.1° F
Max. Temp.
91.9° F
Ending Temp.
86.0° F
Max. Temp.

Ending Temp.

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
The eLuxury mattress peaked at a temperature of 91.9 degrees. Based on the mattresses we’ve tested with our thermal monitors thus far, it’s among the very lowest with respect to surface temperature.
No doubt the gel memory foam is having a positive impact. However, I also believe that the 2nd layer of convoluted poly foam is having a notable impact as well. Foam that includes deep channels for air flow creates enhanced breathability, which helps to dramatically manage cooling issues.
Heat Dissipation Over Time
Time Elapsed | Temperature |
---|---|
1 minute | 89.2° |
2 minutes | 88.2° |
3 minutes | 87.2° |
4 minutes | 87.1° |
5 minutes | 86.0° |
From a subjective perspective, I personally felt warmer on the eLuxury than many others we’ve tested. It’s possible that the purely surface level temperatures don’t fully capture the cooling dynamics that a sleeper feels, which is an area we’re investigating as a way to further improve our data and recommendations.
That said, in a look purely at the numbers, they speak for themselves. The eLuxury mattress does a nice job with respect to cooling and heat retention.
Sinkage Test
Overall, the sinkage on this mattress is about what I’d expect for a memory foam mattress. It is soft enough to provide good contouring and sinkage along the spine and core muscles, while also being firm enough to provide support.

When we used our medicine ball, we documented 1.9″ of sinkage. This is the amount that the ball sank into the surface of the mattress. Compared to other mattresses we have tested, this is a good amount and consistent with other high-quality mattresses.
Motion Transfer Test
The level of motion transfer is documented in the video below.
Max. Acceleration
2.47 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-2.11 m/s²
Accel. Range
4.58 m/s²
When we used our accelerometer to test motion transfer on the eLuxury mattress, we found that the results fell well within the normal range. Motion transfer was moderate, yet acceptable. It is unlikely that these levels of motion transfer would be enough to wake a partner.

While there is a steep initial bounce and rebound, most of the motion energy is dissipated within 0.25 seconds. In general, memory foam mattresses excel at minimizing motion transfer. This is because the viscoelastic properties of the foam naturally absorb energy.
While this can be less than great for bounce / sex, at least for motion transfer, it’s very much a positive.
Response Test
The response time of the eLuxury Supply mattress is good for one with deep-contouring foam. That is to say, it is still very slow.
Within 1.2 seconds of lifting the ball up, the eLuxury was mostly recovered from the weight. And within 2.0 seconds, the mattress was back to full recovery.
Mostly Recovered
1.2 sec.
Complete Recovery
2.0 sec.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
This slower response time, paired with the lower motion transfer levels, help to show that the eLuxury Supply mattress performs similarly to a classic memory foam.
For some sleepers a slower response can lead to a feeling of being “stuck” or unable to easily move / get up / change positions during the night. The eLuxury isn’t the slowest responding mattress we’ve tested to date, but it is fairly close.
Bounce Test
In our tests, we measured a total bounce of 3.51″ for the eLuxury mattress.
Max. Depth
4.23″
Max. Rebound
-0.72″
Total Bounce
3.51″
The maximum depth and rebound are documented in the images below.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max. Bounce Height

In the video below you can see how the ball interacts with the foam mattress. Upon initial drop, the ball sinks in 4.23″ and then rebounds up, but only makes it up about 3.5″ before it runs out of energy.
Given the foam and memory foam construction of the eLuxury mattress, most of the energy is absorbed. The result is a mattress with little overall bounce.
Bounce as a general scoring parameter be a bit unclear to some sleepers. However, bounce is an important part of the mattress as it creates a surface that’s easy to move around on / change positions, in addition to a surface that’s better for sex.

The more bounce the better the mattress can be for these aspects, but you do give up a certain degree of motion transfer if bounce gets too high.
eLuxury prioritizes contour, hug, and reduced motion transfer, while giving up some level of ease of movement and sex performance.
Edge Support Test
When it comes to edge support, I would say that the eLuxury performed about as well as I’d expect for any memory foam mattress. The edges are good, but not great.
Max. Sinkage
4.25″
Lying Support
Good
The level of edge support is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

When sitting directly on the edge, there is quite a bit of sinkage and you may find it uncomfortable or unsupportive for long periods of time.
Unlike some other competitive brands, the eLuxury mattress doesn’t have any reinforcing along the edges or higher density material used in this location.
Overall, I would describe the eLuxurySupply mattress edge support as good, not great. If you are 200+ pounds and/or having frequent amorous activities on or near the edge, you will likely be unhappy with the level of edge support.
However, if those aspects are not important to you then the edge support will likely be sufficient.
Sex Test
To score sex performance we look at a number of different factors that all play a role in quality sex. Three of the most important factors include:
Sex Bounce
8.4
Edge Support
9.4
Noise
10
In addition to the factors above, there are a few other things to consider as well, like pressure relief and cooling.
Here’s a look at our sex formula:
Sex Score Formula = (Bounce * 0.6) + (Edge Support * 0.2) + (Noise * 0.1) + (Pressure Relief * 0.05) + (Cooling * 0.05)
We use the following scores, plugged into the formula, to derive a sex score for each mattress.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 5.0 | Very Low |
Edge Support | 20% | 8.4 | Good |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Cooling | 5% | 8.0 | Good |
Overall, I would say this is a pretty great score for a memory foam-based mattress. For noise, sinkage, and cooling, the eLuxury is fantastic.

Edge support hurt the score a bit since there was a little too much sinkage to be considered “ideal” for most who engage in the dance with no pants.
Bounce also was a little low. Great sex is facilitated by great bounce, but the eLuxury deadens that energy and is designed more for hug and contouring than for great bounce.
Pressure Relief Test
Considering pressure relief, the eLuxury mattress was excellent. It has a 3″ layer of comfort material and a 2″ layer of slighter firmer transitional foam. When you lie on it, you begin to sink into the comfort layer and engage with the transitional poly foam and support layer.
Comfort Layer
3.0″
Comfort Layer Ratio
30%
Whether lying on my back, side, or stomach, I consistently felt supported by the eLuxury mattress.
I greatly appreciate the 2″ transitional foam layer within the core of the mattress. eLuxury’s original version of this mattress was a 3″ memory foam layer on top of a 7″ support foam layer. That design is not uncommon, but has a number of pitfalls.

One of the most significant is it can create pressure points, especially for sleepers who weigh more and/or sleep on their side. The addition of a 2″ transitional foam layer helps to reduce pressure points for a wider range of sleepers, bodyweights, and sleeping positions.
Off-Gassing Test
The off-gassing of the eLuxury mattress was moderate upon the initial unboxing and took about a full day to fully dissipate. This is a bit more smell than some other compressed mattresses, but I will say that it dissipated pretty quickly.
Initial Smell Strength
Moderate
Off-Gassing Period
1 day
Unless you are incredibly sensitive to odors, you shouldn’t have an issue with this mattress.
PRO TIP: To eliminate the smell faster after unboxing try turning on a fan or opening a window in the room.
Company
The eLuxury Supply mattress is produced by a company that offers a long trial period, solid warranty, and fair shipping and return policies.
Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
---|---|---|---|
Trial Period | 15% | 8.0 | 120 nights |
Warranty | 10% | 8.0 | 10 years |
Shipping | 5% | 10 | $0 |
Returns | 20% | 10 | $0 |
Trust | 50% | 8.0 | Good |
Country of Origin | 0% | USA |
The 120-night trial period provides 4 full months for you to decide if you like the mattress or not.
If at any point within that time period, you decide the eLuxury isn’t for you, you can simply request a return and they will pick up the mattress and issue you a refund.

This is great for leery buyers and takes a lot of the risk out of the equation when buying a new mattress.
How firm is eLuxury?
The eLuxury mattress has a firmer feel on the top, less sinkage, and a balanced feel. It is a good middle-of-the-road firmness that would generally be considered comfortable by a wide range of sleepers.

Support & Sleeping Positions
Follow the charts below to find out if the eLux is the right firmness for you.
eLuxury Medium
Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleepers | Side Sleepers | Back Sleepers |
---|---|---|---|
Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Over 300 lbs.? The eLuxury has been tested to support sleepers up to 400 lbs. per side.
If you’re over 400 lbs., you may want to consider a mattress with a thicker profile, like the 12″ Loom & Leaf. You can read the review here.
Design
The eLuxury Supply mattress is designed as a pretty basic gel memory foam mattress. It is 10″ thick, made up of three layers, and promotes hug, contouring, and cooling.

Materials
There are three main layers with a stretchy, breathable cover that make up the eLuxury Supply mattress. These layers include:
- Cover
- 3.0″ gel memory foam
- 2.0″ confoluted poly foam
- 5.0″ support foam

I would say that the materials on the eLuxury are basic, but not of poor quality. This mattress is designed for sleepers who want a simple feel without bells and whistles or fancy add-ins.
The materials are sufficient enough to provide good support and a comfortable feel.
The Cover
Thickness: Thin
The cover of this mattress uses a thin, stretchy knit fabric that is both breathable and taut to the foam layers below.

The Comfort Layers
Thickness: 5.0″ total
The comfort layers are made up of two separate layers. The top layer (directly below the cover) is a 3.0″ layer of gel memory foam. This layer provides contouring and hug, while also focusing on cooling.

Traditional memory foam is notorious for poor cooling so eLuxury tries to combat that by adding the cooling gel to the foam, in addition to aeration holes. Both of which help reduce heat retention.
Below the gel foam is a layer of 2.0″ convoluted poly foam. This foam is firmer than the memory foam above and the convoluted nature promotes airflow and breathability.

The Support Layer
Thickness: 5.0″
Lastly, we have the support foam on the bottom. The intent of this foam is to provide support for all of the layers above. It has a higher density than both the poly foam and the gel memory foam.

Especially for back and stomach sleepers, this support layer is critical for good sleep.
Product Evolution
The eLuxury mattress first launched in 2010 and early mattress iterations only had 2 layers. There was a 3″ gel memory foam layer and a 7″ support foam.
Today’s eLuxury mattress adds the middle 2″ convoluted poly foam and decreased the support foam from 7″ down to 5″.

This change creates a mattress with more pressure relief and is likely a better fit for side sleepers and sleepers that weigh more. The convoluted foam also enhances cooling which is a nice evolution for this mattress.
How is eLuxury Supply Different?
The eLuxury mattress shares a lot of similarities with other memory foam mattresses. Its approach towards cooling definitely seems to be working and providing a cooling sleeping surface throughout the night.
The two biggest factors which help to cool the eLuxury Supply mattress are:
- Gel memory foam
- Convoluted poly foam
These two material decisions create a mattress that has the hug and contour of classic memory foam, but paired with improved cooling and breathability.

As an added bonus, eLuxury Supply offers a free mattress pad with your order. This mattress pad has a quilted bamboo top and is a pretty nice extra, especially since they throw it in for free.
It’s a great way to add a little more softness and pressure relief to your mattress, without needing to buy an entirely new bed.
Other Mattresses to Consider
Still not sure eLuxury is right for you? Here are a couple of other mattresses you may want to consider.
