Which Mattresses Are We Comparing?

Brooklyn Bedding manufactures 4 different flagship hybrids, one of which is a Custom hybrid. Due to the changing nature of a custom mattress, this comparison has been limited to include the non-custom options.

  1. Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid
  2. Brooklyn Bedding Sedona Elite Hybrid
  3. Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe Hybrid

Casper offers 7 different flagship mattresses, a mix of hybrids and foam mattresses.

For the sake of simplicity, only 3 Casper mattresses are featured in this side-by-side comparison—all hybrids.

  1. Casper Original Hybrid
  2. Casper Wave Hybrid
  3. Casper Snow Hybrid

The Casper SelectCasper Original, and The Casper were excluded due to their lower performance score and the 100% foam construction.

On average, these three mattresses scored 0.26 of a point lower than the Casper hybrid mattresses.

Both Casper and Brooklyn Bedding have great cooling, averaging a brand cooling score of 9.5. These hybrids are breathable and do a good job of dissipating heat.

Casper also includes other cooling benefits like a phase change cover on some mattresses as well as cooling bands or gel pods.

Heat Delete Bands

Brooklyn Bedding’s approach to cooing varies depending on which mattress you’re looking at. The Aurora Luxe, for example, includes cooling-infused foams and the Sedona Elite uses a cooling cover.

Cooling-Infused Foam

Below, you can watch a video of how the heat dissipates on each mattress during our cooling test. For this test, we lie on the mattress for 15 minutes, get off the mattress, and then take periodic surface-level temperature measurements.

The best mattresses for sex have high bounce, good edge support, quiet materials, and good pressure relief and cooling.

These 5 factors make up the NapLab sex performance score and from these factors, we can generate a sex score for each mattress.

The table below shows how sex performance varies between Casper and Brooklyn Bedding mattresses.

Both of these mattresses had higher levels of bounce, excellent edge support, and good pressure relief as well.

Pressure Relief Test

The average trial length is 165 nights. Both Brooklyn Bedding and Casper fall well below the average, but Brooklyn Bedding does provide 20 extra nights over Casper.

Support & Sleeping Positions

Casper’s Nova Hybrid has a soft feel and is a better option for lighter-weight sleepers or side sleepers who are looking for a bit more contour. The Casper Snow and Casper Wave Hybrid have a medium feel that is ideal for side sleepers at a wider range of weights.

The Casper, Casper Original, Casper Original Hybrid, and Casper Select are the more typical medium-firm feel and are appropriate for most bodies and sleeping positions.

The Brooklyn Bedding Aurora Luxe and Signature Hybrid are available in three different firmness levels. This allows the mattress to suit a wide range of sleeper preferences, regardless of weight or preferred sleeping position.

While these mattresses don’t technically offer split firmness, you can opt for a Twin XL or a Split King to have two separate mattresses for each side of the bed. This can be a strategy that helps accommodate couples with different needs.

Not sure which firmness is right for you?

Use the table below to better determine the firmness range that may be best suited for you, based on your personal weight and preferred sleeping position.
