The Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid takes the lead for the most bounce and slowest response time, while the Dreamcloud Premier boasts the least amount of sinkage.

Winkbed offers the best cooling, fastest response time, best edge support, and best for sex.

The average level of sinkage across all mattresses tested to date is 2.20″.

The Dreamcloud Premier and Dreamcloud Premier Rest both have less sinkage than average.

The Winkbed Luxury Firm and Winkbed Plus have sinkage levels that are just slightly more than the average.

And the Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid and Winkbed Soft have sinkage levels that are significantly more than average.

Concerning motion transfer, all of these mattresses had good scores depicting low levels of motion transfer with the two exceptions being the Winkbed Soft and the Winkbed Plus.

The average amount of motion transfer is 5.83 m/s², based on all of our mattress tests to date.

The Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid, Dreamcloud Premier, and Winkbed Luxury Firm are all about average.

The Dreamcloud Premier Rest has less motion transfer than average and the Winkbed Soft and Winkbed Plus both have quite a bit more motion transfer than average.

If you’re particularly concerned with motion transfer I would likely recommend sticking with either Dreamcloud or the original Winkbed Luxury Firm mattress.

The level of motion transfer is documented in the video below. The graphs which follow each video show a quantifiable version of motion transfer based on accelerometer data.

Dreamcloud Motion Transfer

The Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid had a peak of motion around 3 m/s² with a good amount of rebound. On this mattress, motion transfer continued until about the 1-second mark—not bad, but also not the fastest.

Winkbed Luxury Firm Motion Transfer

The Winkbed Luxury Firm had peak motion of around 2.5 m/s², which is less than the Dreamcloud mattress, but it took about the same amount of time to absorb the energy.

Dreamcloud Premier Motion Transfer

The Dreamcloud Premier had a bit more motion transfer initially, but a similar duration of transfer energy (1 full second).

Winkbed Soft Motion Transfer

The Winkbed Soft had quite a bit more motion transfer energy, up to 5.5 m/s² at its peak. Having a softer feel, motion transfer did dissipate a little quicker, around 0.8 seconds.

Dreamcloud Premier Rest Motion Transfer

The Dreamcloud Premier Rest has the best performance for motion transfer. It has a pillowtop cover and thicker profile, which helps secure lower levels of motion transfer as well as the ability to absorb the energy faster as well.

As you can see in the chart above, energy peaked around 1 m/s² and was mostly absorbed by 0.73 seconds.

Winkbed Plus Motion Transfer

On the Winkbed Plus, motion transfer peaked around 4.5 m/s² and continued for about 1 full second, as is consistent across most mattresses in this comparison.

The response times in this head-to-head comparison showed very fast performance on Winkbed and less than ideal performance on Dreamcloud.

The average response time across all mattresses that we’ve tested to date is 0.56 seconds to be mostly recovered and 0.94 seconds to be fully recovered.

All three Winkbeds we tested were about twice as fast as the average. The Dreamcloud Premier and original Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid were both significantly slower than average.

Dreamcloud is the slowest responding mattress we have tested to date and the DreamCloud Premier Rest is the second slowest.

The level of bounce between these six mattresses varied greatly, from low all the way to high.

The average level of bounce across all mattresses tested to date is 9.35″.

The Winkbed Plus has less bounce than average, generating a bounce range of only 6.75″.

At 7.88″ total bounce range, the Dreamcloud Premier Rest was slightly less bounce than average.

The Winkbed Luxury Firm and Winkbed Soft were both about average.

The original Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid and the Dreamcloud Premier had high levels of bounce, over 11″ of total bounce range.

Bounce, in general, is a bit of a subjective factor, but certainly one you’ll want to consider. More bounce gives the mattress a more traditional feel, makes it easier to move around on it, and improves sex.

On average, the edge support of the Winkbed trumps the support of Dreamcloud.

The average level of sinkage (when sitting right at the edge of the mattress) is 4.67″.

The Winkbed Luxury Firm and Winkbed Plus both have exceptional edge support when sitting or lying and earned a perfect score. Winkbed Soft had more edge sinkage, but still slightly better than average and paired with excellent lying support.

Among Dreamcloud mattresses, the Premier has better edge support than average (only 3.75″). But the original Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid and the Dreamcloud Premier Rest both were a little disappointing with 5″ of edge sinkage or more.

On the Premier Rest, this greater level of sinkage also negatively impacted the lying support and I felt like I was going to roll off the mattress entirely.

Here’s a look at our sex formula:

We use the following scores, plugged into the formula, to derive a sex score for each mattress.

Of all of these mattresses, the Winkbed Luxury Firm was the top-performing mattress. It has high bounce, fantastic edge support, is quiet, excellent pressure relief, and great cooling as well—really the whole package.

The Winkbed Soft and Dreamcloud Premier, and Original Dreamcloud are all great runner-ups with scores between 8.6 and 9.2.

The Dreamcloud Premier Rest and Winkbed Plus have the lowest sex score of these six hybrids between 7.4 and 7.8 out of 10. These mattresses have lower levels of bounce and the Dreamcloud has poorer edge support and cooling as well.

Pressure relief is good on Dreamcloud, but excellent on Winkbed. All of the mattresses compared here have between 5.0 – 6.5″ of comfort material.

Oftentimes, thicker comfort layers are directly related to mattresses with better pressure relief, but as we can see, that’s not necessarily the case here.

The Winkbeds all scored perfect 10s for pressure relief even though they have between 5 – 5.5″ of comfort material. This is less material than Dreamcloud, but when paired with the luxury pillowtop, it is more than enough for exceptional pressure relief.

Dreamcloud is good, but just not as good as Winkbed. These mattresses have between 5.5 and 6.5″ of comfort material.

Moving right along, let’s talk about off-gassing. None of these mattresses really had any big problem with off-gassing.

Right out of the box, the smell was minimal on most of these mattresses and fully dissipated within 2 days or less.

The average amount of time that it usually takes a mattress to off-gas is 2.84 days so all of these mattresses would be considered better than average in this category.

When looking at the companies behind Dreamcloud and Winkbed, Dreamcloud actually has more favorable policies. Dreamcloud offers a 365-night trial period while the Winkbed maxes out at 120 nights.

The Winkbed Soft offers the softest feel among all mattresses listed in this comparison, a 4 out of 10 on the firmness scale (where 10 is the most firm). Lighter and moderate weight side sleepers are most likely to enjoy the soft.

The Dreamcloud Premier Rest and Winkbed Luxury Firm are both a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale. This is a firmness with a pretty wide appeal that suits most sleepers.

The Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid (original), Dreamcloud Premier, Winkbed Firm, and Winkbed Plus are all a 7 out of 10 on the firmness scale.

This is a tad firmer than the mattresses above. Sleepers who may benefit from this slightly firmer feel would include back or stomach sleepers as well as heavier sleepers looking for a little extra support.

As you might imagine, not all firmnesses are suitable for all sleepers. It’s important to know your ideal firmness prior to purchasing a new mattress.

Your ideal firmness comes down to sleeper size, sleeping position, and personal preference.

Design

As mentioned above, all six of these featured mattresses are hybrid blends that combine different foams with pocketed coils. These would all be considered luxury hybrids since they have a thicker profile and pillowtop cover (in most cases).

Aesthetically, both of these brands stick to white and navy blue to help identify their brand.

Dreamcloud has a solid dark blue side, while Winkbed puts extra emphasis on their hybrid design, denoting a navy accent that nearly aligns with the thickness of the foam layers on the inside of the mattress.

From the outside, it can be hard to tell the difference between Dreamcloud and Winkbed. That is where the NapLab comes in.

As you can see in the tests and analysis above, although these brands have a similar look on the outside, there are a lot of differences in feel, firmness, and performance.

Should You Buy the Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid?

I would recommend the Dreamcloud Luxury Hybrid if you’re looking for:

• Slower response time. If you want a mattress that has that enveloping feeling that comes from a mattress with a slower response time, the Dreamcloud original is a good pick.
• More bounce. Despite the slower response time, this mattress is still very active and engaging, with the highest level of bounce among all mattresses in this comparison.

Should You Buy the Winkbed Luxury Firm?

I would recommend the Winkbed Luxury Firm if you’re looking for:

• Balanced performance. Among all of the mattresses compared here the Winkbed Luxury Firm has the most balanced feel. It has a medium firmness, moderate to deep sinkage, low motion, fast response, and great cooling. It is ideal for most body types and all sleeping positions.

I would recommend the Dreamcloud Premier if you’re looking for:

• Least sinkage. If you’ve worried about sinking too much into a pillowtop mattress, check out the Premier. This mattress had the least amount of sinkage in our performance tests.
• Good edge support. The Dreamcloud Premier has the best edge support of all Dreamcloud mattresses that we tested as well as great lying edge support.
• Best DreamCloud. Among the 3 DreamCloud mattresses the DreamCloud Premier had the best overall performance.

Should You Buy the Winkbed Soft?

I would recommend the Winkbed Soft if you’re looking for:

• Side Sleepers. The softer feel has more sinkage, more hug, and more contour. As a result, it’s best suited for side sleepers, especially lighter weight side sleepers. However, some moderate weight side sleepers will enjoy it also.
• Deep hug. The Winkbed soft has 3.16″ of sinkage. It’s the 2nd deepest sinkage among all mattresses we’ve tested to date. If you like lots of sinkage and hug, the soft is perfect.

Should You Buy the Winkbed Plus?

I would recommend the Winkbed Plus if you’re looking for:

• Heavier sleeper. Sleepers over 250 lbs. can greatly benefit from the thicker profile of the Winkbed Plus. In addition, the firmer feel can help provide better support for heavier sleepers.
• Firm feel. Regardless of your body weight, if you simply want a firm to very firm feel, the Winkbed Plus is a good choice. Heavier bodies and some back / stomach sleepers may enjoy the firm feel of the Winkbed Plus.
