Compared to all mattresses we’ve tested to date, Tempurpedic makes good mattresses, but they are far from the best, especially considering the exorbitant price tag of their advanced collections.
In our performance tests, the average memory foam mattress has a performance score of 8.63 and an average price of $1,291 for a queen mattress.
Average Memory Foam | TEMPUR-Cloud | TEMPUR-Adapt | TEMPUR-Breeze | |
---|---|---|---|---|
Price (queen) | $1,291 | $1,399 | $1,999 | $4,099 |
Performance | 9.45 | 8.48 | — | 8.03 |
The TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze scored well below that in performance and at a much higher price point. Although this particular model has since been discontinued, the closest comparable model (the TEMPUR-ProBreeze Medium) is priced at $4,099 for a queen.
This price is over 3X the average price. There are dozens of higher-performing memory foam mattresses at a fraction of the cost, which makes it generally hard to recommend a Tempurpedic mattress from this collection.
The TEMPUR-Cloud had a performance score of 8.48 which is higher than average and the price is not a significant jump. I would recommend the TEMPUR-Cloud over the TEMPUR-Breeze collection for this reason alone.

Below we’ll go into a bit more detail on the two Tempurpedic mattresses tested to date—the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze (aka: TEMPUR-ProBreeze Medium) and the TEMPUR Cloud Medium UK (aka: TEMPUR-Cloud Medium).
TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze
Note: This model has been discontinued—the closest comparable mattress is the TEMPUR ProBreeze Medium.

Best For
- Classic memory foam feel (high contouring, high-pressure relief)
- Low motion transfer and low bounce
Considerations
- Tends to have worse cooling
- 3X higher price tag than the average memory foam mattress
Our Verdict
The TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze has that classic memory foam feel, marked by the advantages of viscoelastic TEMPUR foam, but also the downsides as well. This mattress had a moderate level of sinkage and struggled a bit with heat retention.
Motion transfer levels were extremely low, only 1.68 m/s². This is 80% less than the average level of motion transfer. The low levels of motion transfer are also supported by low levels of bounce, only 3.34″ total—that’s 66% less bounce than the average mattress tested to date.
If you’re looking for a mattress that has a deeper level of contour and deadening energy, the TEMPUR-Cloud Breeze (aka: TEMPUR ProBreeze Medium) may be a good pick for you. But there are certainly better value options out there.

TEMPUR-Cloud Medium
Note: This particular model is only available in the UK—click here to find the TEMPUR-Cloud Medium in the US.

Best For
- Low motion transfer and moderate sinkage
- All-foam or hybrid configuration
- 3 variable firmness levels
Considerations
- Low levels of bounce
- More heat retention than I’d like to see
- 3X more expensive than the average memory foam mattress
Our Verdict
The TEMPUR-Cloud is a UK-based mattress that uses a similar material as the Tempurpedic material in the US market.
It closely resembles the look and feel of memory foam with moderate sinkage, deeper compression and contouring, and low motion transfer.
The TEMPUR-Cloud mattress is also a little softer than the TEMPUR-Original. Overall, the build quality and support of this mattress are nothing short of impressive.
Compared to the average memory foam mattress price of $1,291, the TEMPUR-Cloud Medium is 17% above average. This is a far cry from the price of the TEMPUR-Breeze collection noted above, but still may be a factor for some sleepers.
That being said, price and performance aside, if you don’t like sinking into a mattress, you likely won’t like the feel of the TEMPUR material used in these mattresses.
