Best For
- Side sleepers
- Extremely fast material response time
- Exceptional pressure relief with 7.0″ of comfort material
Considerations
- Higher levels of motion transfer
- Not great for sex performance
- Struggling edge support both when sitting or lying
Our Verdict
The Amerisleep Organica Plush mattress is a 15″ latex hybrid mattress with a plush 1.0″ quilted cover and 3.0″ soft latex. The mattress has 6.0″ of latex in total and it all sits atop an 8.0″ pocketed coil unit.
This mattress has extremely deep levels of sinkage and moderate levels of bounce. You’ll really want to enjoy that deeper sinkage to find the Organica Plush comfortable and supportive.
This mattress comes in a single firmness—3.5 out of 10, giving the mattresses an extra soft feel. For something firmer, check out the Amerisleep Organica, which has a firmness of 6 out of 10 (medium-firm feel).
In our performance tests, the Organica Plush has an overall performance of 8.63, giving it slightly better performance than average.
But looking exclusively at price, the Organica Plush costs more than average—53% more than the average latex hybrid. Even so, it is incredibly rare to achieve this level of softness within a latex hybrid design. This is without question the most soft latex hybrid I’ve ever experienced or tested.
If you absolutely must have an extra soft feel and it absolutely must be latex hybrid then the Organic Plush is a great choice.

How is Amerisleep Organica Plush Different?
The Amerisleep Organica Plush is a 15″ latex hybrid mattress with an overall performance that ranks in the top 48% of all mattresses tested to date and a price tag that is slightly more than average—53% more than the average latex hybrid.
Advantages
The Organica Plush offers an extra soft feel, which can be hard to come by if you’re specifically looking for latex hybrid specifically. Despite the softness, this mattress still had above-average cooling performance, fast material response time, and exceptional pressure relief.
The 15″ profile of this mattress is 3.0″ thicker than the average, which can be fantastic for pressure relief and is a key reason that it’s able to deliver this level of softness.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has extremely deep sinkage and moderate levels of bounce. You’re really going to want to like that deep sinkage to feel comfortable on this mattress.
Disadvantages
Disadvantages include higher levels of motion transfer, struggling edge support, and worse sex performance.
The lower level of bounce and worse edge support are enough to negatively impact sex on this mattress, but that may not be a critical factor to all sleepers.

Cooling Test
The Amerisleep Organica Plush has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
76.2° F
Max Temp.
90.8° F
Ending Temp.
80.6° F
The mattress remained comfortably cool and did not retain significant heat. This is exactly what we expect from a latex hybrid. Latex as a material type doesn’t retain significant levels of heat.
In addition, the hybrid design means we have a base layer of pocketed coils bringing ample airflow into the mattress. While the quilted wool cover doesn’t breathe as well as many other material types we’ve tested, it also didn’t cause significant cooling issues.
Max Temp.

Ending Temp

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 90.8° F. This is 1.2° more than the average of 89.6° F, based on all of our tests to date.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

After getting off the mattress the temperature declined by 5.6 degrees from minutes 0 to 1. This is 0.9° cooler than the average 0 to 1-minute decline of 4.7 degrees.
When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is excellent.
Sinkage Test
The Amerisleep Organica Plush has extremely deep sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 3.73″. This is 1.58″ more sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.15″, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
3.73″
Sinkage Feel
Extremely Deep
The mattress creates a dramatic hug around the body. While the body contouring isn’t as sharp or exacting as memory foam, the extremely deep sinkage depth still causes the mattress to create a highly enveloped and hugging sensation around sleeper bodies.
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The Organica Plush is extra soft. The topmost layer is fluffy, compresses easily, and gently comforts the body. This type of feel is neither good nor bad, but it is polarizing.
Some sleepers will absolutely love the deep sinkage, extra soft firmness, and more enveloping feel, while many others will find it simply is too extreme for them to be comfortable.
This type of sinkage depth and hugging sensation is typically best for exclusive side sleepers.
Motion Transfer Test
The Amerisleep Organica Plush has a high level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 11.89 m/s². This is 35% motion motion transfer than the average of 8.79 m/s².
Max. Acceleration
6.90 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-4.99 m/s²
Accel. Range
11.89 m/s²
Unfortunately, the Organica Plush has many negatives that impact motion transfer. Latex as a material type is incredibly springy and responsive, which is great for ease of movement, but negatively impacts motion.
In addition, and perhaps most critically, the extra soft feel is problematic. When sleepers change positions or get in and out of bed those movements sink down deep into the mattress, closer to the coil layer. This combination creates significant motion on the mattress.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer test, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion from 0 to 0.21 seconds.
We see motion declining thereafter, but still remaining moderately high until 0.65 seconds. Finally, by 0.94 seconds, we return to near-zero levels of energy.

Neither the motion peaks nor motion duration are particularly great. Unfortunately, the combination of an extra soft feel with a latex hybrid design simply creates a higher level of motion transfer.
Response Test
The Amerisleep Organica Plush has an extremely fast material response. In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.2 seconds, which is 0.20 seconds faster than the average of 0.40 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
Mostly Recovered
0.2 sec.
Complete Recovery
0.3 sec.
In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.3 seconds, which is 0.60 seconds faster than the average of 0.90 seconds.
These responsiveness speeds are effectively instant and are tied for the fastest we’ve tested to date with a number of other highly responsiveness mattresses.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
Latex as a material type springs back to shape incredibly quickly. Even with the deeper sinkage and extra soft feel the mattress still remains highly responsive and easy to move around on.
Bounce Test
The Amerisleep Organica Plush has a moderate level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 8.36″. This is 1.16″ less bounce than the average of 9.52″, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
6.84″
Max. Rebound
1.52″
Total Bounce
8.36″
Typically, latex hybrids have a higher-than-average bounce level. Latex as a material type is incredibly springy, resilient, and responsive, all attributes that create more bounce. However, this mattress has a deeper level of sinkage and a softer feel.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
These attributes are significantly reducing the level of bounce. Even so, it’s not a low level of bounce.
Ideally, I like to see 8-12” of total bounce height. The Organica Plush is within that level, even if it’s on the lower end.
While more bounce would yield a better sex performance score, at 8.36” it’s enough to still keep the mattress easy to move around on and not tank the dance without pants score.
Edge Support Test
The Amerisleep Organica Plush has mediocre edge support for sitting and good edge support for lying. In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 6.00″. This is 1.95″ more sitting sinkage than the average of 4.05″, based on all of our tests to date.
Max Sinkage
6.00″
Lying Support
Good
While sitting directly on the edge I did not feel well supported. The extra soft feel and deeper sinkage is great while lying in the middle of the mattress, but while sitting on the edge it borders on a collapse of materials.
Fortunately, the mattress has 15.0” of total material profile, such that even 6.0” of compression isn’t a complete collapse. Even so, sitting edge support is far from ideal.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

While lying directly on the edge of the mattress I felt well supported in all sleeping positions. However, as with sitting edge support, lying edge support isn’t incredible.
While I would have liked to have seen edge support perform at a higher level I am unsurprised by these results. This is pretty typical for a mattress at this firmness level.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

For those who need or want an extra soft feel, whether it’s the Organica Plush or a different brand, you should be prepared for less-than-amazing edge support.
Sex Test
The Amerisleep Organica Plush has fair sex performance. On the positive side, noise is minimal, pressure relief is outstanding, and cooling is excellent. However, that’s where the pros end.
Bounce is decent, but also far from ideal. In our bounce tests, we measured 8.36” of total bounce height. This is 1.16” less bounce than the average of 9.52”. The extra soft feel and deeper sinkage suck much of the bounce out of the mattress.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 7.7 | Moderate |
Edge Support | 20% | 6.3 | Mediocre |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 10 | Outstanding |
Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Having a more restrained level of bounce can mean amorous activity is more strenuous for partners. Edge support is a similar story with 6.0” of sitting sinkage compression. This is considerably deeper than the average and will make utilizing the edge of the mattress for amorous activities less than ideal.

As with many other performance areas, the extra soft feel and extremely deep sinkage have a significant impact on performance. The weaker sex performance isn’t necessarily a problem with the Organica Plush specifically, but rather a weakness of most mattresses with a similar firmness and/or sinkage depth.
Pressure Relief Test
The Amerisleep Organica Plush has outstanding pressure relief performance. During our tests, I did not feel any pressure points on my body.
Comfort Layer
7.0″
Support Layer
8.0″
The mattress has an extra soft feel, which creates a ton of pressure relief and comfort for the body. The Organica Plush has a 7.0” comfort layer. This is 3.0” thicker than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.0”, based on all of our tests.
That 7.0” comfort layer consists of 1.0” of wool, a 3.0” latex layer on top, a 2.0” Talalay latex, and a final 1.0” Talalay latex.

In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 1.47 while lying on the side. While on my back and stomach, pressure was notably lower at 0.85 and 0.81, respectively. A PSI of 2.0 is considered a high pressure point and no sleeping position came anywhere close to those levels.
Perhaps most notably, the Organica Plush has an extra soft feel, coming in at a 3.5 out of 10 on our firmness scale, where 10 is the most firm. This is among the softest mattresses we’ve tested to date.
That extra softness can provide an incredible level of pressure relief and comfort. However, it is definitely best suited to the needs of side sleepers.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Side Sleepers | 0.21 | 1.47 |

How firm is Organica Plush?
The Amerisleep Organica Plush is a extra soft mattress with firmness of only 3.5 out of 10, where 10 is the most firm.

As I mentioned above, this is one of the softest mattresses we’ve tested to date. And it is without question the softest latex hybrid we’ve tested.
Support & Sleeping Positions
The Amerisleep Organica Plush has excellent support. During our tests, I felt well-supported in all sleeping positions. The mattress is equipped with an 8.0” coil unit.
This gives the mattress 8.0” of total support layers, which is 0.1” thicker than the average 7.9” support layer, based on all of our tests to date.

Both the support and comfort materials all look and feel high quality. The biggest risk to sleepers feeling well supported is simply the level of firmness and extremely deep sinkage.
Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleepers | Side Sleepers | Back Sleepers |
---|---|---|---|
Under 150 lbs. | Maybe | Yes | Maybe |
150-250 lbs. | No | Yes | Maybe |
250-300 lbs. | No | Yes | Maybe |
The Organica Plush has an extra soft feel. Many side sleepers will love this feel, and some back sleepers also.
However, it’s simply going to be too soft for most stomach sleepers. To feel well supported by the mattress you’ll need to prefer the extra soft feel and a deeper sinkage level.

The Cover
The cover of the Organica Plush mattress is a 1.0″ wool cover, combined with organic cotton. It has a knitted top and woven sides.

There is bright blue cording that goes around the entire perimeter of the mattress, sewn right above the zipper. This zipper allows the cover to be removed for washing as well as to provide access to the 3″ latex topper.

The Comfort Layer
It’s almost like there are two comfort layers on this mattress. There is a thick layer of comfort material directly below the wool cover and then a second set of materials in the bottom portion of the mattress (above the support layer).
Right below the cover, we see a 3.0″ natural latex foam with a soft feel. This layer is easily accessible using the zipper closure on the edge of the mattress.

Below the box top layer, there are two additional layers of foam. We see a 2.0″ soft Talalay latex followed by a 1.0″ medium Talalay latex. These tow layers are the same as what we see on the Organica.

The Support Layer
The support layer of the Organica Plush is an 8.0″ pocketed coil layer. This is a pretty standard material and thickness for many latex hybrid mattresses.

Product Evolution
Althgouth the Amerisleep Organica launched in 2020, the Organica Plush wasn’t launched until 2024. The Plush version was designed and launched to meet the needs of sleepers who want the extra soft feel within a latex hybrid configuration.
