Best For
- Low budget hybrid
- High levels of bounce with minimal sinkage
- 180-night trial period
Considerations
- High levels of motion transfer
- Slow material response time
- Lying edge support is not great
Our Verdict
The Siena Premier mattress is a 10″ hybrid mattress with an extremely low price tag and lower-than-average performance. It is made of memory foam, transitional poly foam, and a spring coil unit.
This mattress has minimal sinkage and high levels of bounce. For an active feel without too much hug and contour, the Siena Premier may be the right feel for you.
It comes in a single firmness, 6 out of 10, and has a medium-firm feel.
In our performance tests, this mattress struggled a bit across the board and had an overall score 12% below average.
But what it lacks in performance, it may compensate for in price. Priced at only $499 for a queen, the Siena Premier is among the lowest-cost hybrids we’ve tested to date, costing 63% less than the average hybrid.
For sleepers on a very tight budget, this may be reason enough to try it out, but I recommend doing so with very real expectations about what this mattress can and cannot offer. It is far from perfect, nevertheless, for $499 it does far more right than it does wrong.

How is Siena Premier Different?
The Siena Premier is a low-budget hybrid mattress with below-average performance (12.4% worse than average), but also a price tag that is significantly below that average as well.
For a queen, the Siena Premier costs 63% less than the average hybrid, which makes it an incredibly inexpensive choice.
Advantages
Beyond the low price tag, the other major advantage of the Sinea Premier is the 180-night trial period. Take a chance, try it out for the savings alone and if you find that it’s not a good fit, get a full refund.
In addition, it earned a 9.0 for sex performance, which is notably better than the average sex score of 8.5.
Neutral Factors
The Siena Premier has less sinkage than average and higher bounce than average. These two factors are considered neutral and personal preference may determine whether or not these are advantages or disadvantages to you.
Disadvantages
There are a number of disadvantages to this mattress that may overwhelm the low price point for some sleepers. Cooling performance is worse than average, motion transfer levels are high, response time is slow (especially for a hybrid), and edge support is poorer than average.

This mattress also has a thinner comfort layer than average, which can negatively affect pressure relief, especially for heavier sleepers.
Cooling Test
Cooling performance on the Siena Premier Hybrid is good, albeit, not incredible.
Baseline Temp.
80.0° F
Max Temp.
91.7° F
Ending Temp.
84.4° F
In our tests, I felt a slight to moderate level of heat retention around my body. On the plus side, we do have a hybrid design, thin cover, and limited comfort layer, all of which help cooling.
Max Temp.

Ending Temp

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
However, the foams used are more basic. We have memory foam on top, and the max surface level temperature is notably higher than average. In our objective temperature testing, we saw a max surface level temperature of 91.7° F, which is 2.1° warmer than average.
After getting off the mattress the temperature declined by 4.9° from minutes 0 to 1, which is 0.2° cooler than average. The temperature decline from minutes 0 to 5 was 7.3°, which is exactly average.
If you describe yourself as a “warm” or “hot” sleeper, this Siena Hybrid just likely isn’t going to cut it. But for more typical sleepers it can be a good enough performance, especially when we consider the price point.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

Sinkage Test
The Siena Hybrid has a minimal level of sinkage. In our tests, we measured 1.96” of pressure point sinkage. This is 0.19” less sinkage than the average of 2.15”.
Sinkage Depth
1.96″
Sinkage Feel
Minimal
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The mattress creates more of a classic memory foam feel with a more significant body contouring hug.
That said, since we only have 3.0” of comfort materials that body hug isn’t overly dramatic. Overall, I would call it a balanced feel, but one that is also a distinctly memory foam feel.
Motion Transfer Test
The Siena Premier Hybrid has a very high level of motion transfer. In our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 15.88 m/s². This is 83% more motion than the average of 8.66 m/s².
Max. Acceleration
6.25 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-9.63 m/s²
Accel. Range
15.88 m/s²
While the memory foam layer on top is helping to reduce motion it simply isn’t able to overcome the relatively thin 3.0” comfort layer and lower spec coil unit. Given the price point of the Siena Hybrid, it makes sense that the coil unit just isn’t able to isolate motion as well as higher-end support coils layers.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the initial spike from 0 to 0.16 seconds. Motion drops thereafter, but we still have a notable secondary spike from 0.53 to 0.61 seconds. By 0.90 seconds we’ve returned to near-zero levels of energy.

Neither the motion intensity, secondary spike, or motion duration paint a pretty picture. Siena Premier Hybrid has a high level of motion transfer that puts it in the bottom 4% of all mattresses we’ve tested to date.
Response Test
The Siena Premier Hybrid has a very slow material response time. In our mostly recovered response test, we measured a material recovery time of 0.8 seconds. This is 0.4 seconds slower than the average of 0.4 seconds and places the Siena in the bottom 8% among all mattresses tested to date.
Mostly Recovered
0.8 sec.
Complete Recovery
2.3 sec.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
In our fully recovered material response test, we measured a recovery speed of 2.3 seconds, which is 1.4 seconds slower than the average of 0.9 seconds. This places it in the bottom 5% percent among all mattresses tested to date.
Ultimately, Siena Hybrid uses a traditional memory foam top layer. Said layer takes a long time to rebound back to shape. For many sleepers, this slow material recovery is going to cause the mattress to feel more difficult to move around on.
Bounce Test
The Siena Premier Hybrid has a high level of bounce. In our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 10.37”. This is 0.67” more bounce than the average of 9.69”.
Max. Depth
5.33″
Max. Rebound

Max Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
While the memory foam top layer does absorb some level of energy and bounce, as we saw with motion transfer, it simply isn’t enough to significantly reduce bounce generated by the coil unit.
This spring unit rebounds significant levels of energy and bounce. Concerning motion transfer, this level of bounce isn’t ideal, and it’s much of the reason for the higher motion transfer we measured. However, it is beneficial for sex and helps improve ease of movement on the mattress.
Edge Support Test
The Siena Hybrid has excellent sitting edge support, but only fair lying edge support. In our tests, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 3.75”. This is 0.31” less sitting sinkage than the average of 4.06”.
Max Sinkage
3.75″
Lying Support
Fair
While sitting on the edge of the mattress I felt well supported and there was no collapse of materials.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

That said, lying edge support isn’t quite as good. While lying on the edge of the mattress there was a notable downward angling of the mattress towards the floor.
As a result, I just did not feel tremendously well supported while lying on the edge, especially on my back. According to Siena’s website, the 7” coil layer has “springs with edge support”. However, it’s vague about what that means exactly. Despite this fact, edge support just left much to be desired.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Sex Test
The Siena Premier Hybrid has excellent sex performance. While the bounce did no favors for motion transfer, it is a great help with respect to sex performance.
At 10.37” of bounce the Siena Hybrid has plenty of energy within the coils to keep partners in rhythm.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 9.0 | Very High |
Edge Support | 20% | 9.1 | Excellent |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 8.0 | Good |
Cooling | 5% | 8.0 | Good |
Sitting edge support was also solid, extending the sexable surface of the mattress. Lastly, noise was minimal and both pressure relief and cooling were good enough to not be major detractors. Overall, the Siena Hybrid has a well-rounded sex performance.
Pressure Relief Test
The Siena Premier Hybrid has a good level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no significant level of pressure points build up on my body. Given the price point, I was shocked at just how good the mattress felt.
Comfort Layer
3.0″
Support Layer
7.0″
The Siena Hybrid is built with 3.0” of comfort foams, including a 1.0” memory foam layer and 2.0” poly foam layer. This 3.0” comfort layer is a little less than the average comfort layer thickness, which is 4.1”. That said, considering the price point, it’s hard to complain.
Despite the less than average comfort layer the mattress still created plenty of comfort and had no significant pressure points. My only pressure relief concern is for more heavier-weighted bodies.
Heavier bodies will put more pressure on the mattress, which will increase the chances of pressure relief issues. For most sleepers under 200 pounds, I don’t think this will be an issue. As you get over 200 pounds the chances of pressure relief problems gradually increase with each pound.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

Off-Gassing Test
Off-gassing on the Siena Premier is strong right out of the box. It takes 6 days to fully off-gas, which is just slightly longer than average, but not by much.
Initial Smell Strength
Strong
Off-Gassing Period
6 days
After a mattress off-gasses, this isn’t necessarily a factor that will continue to impact the overall performance, but may be an issue if you’re sensitive to strong odors.
Company
Siena has a good company score with a lot of appealing factors.
First of all, Siena offers a 180-night trial period and a 10-year warranty. Shipping and returns are both free as well.
Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
---|---|---|---|
Trial Period | 15% | 10 | 180 nights |
Warranty | 10% | 8.0 | 10 years |
Shipping | 5% | 10 | $0 |
Returns | 20% | 10 | $0 |
Trust | 50% | 8.0 | Good |
Country of Origin | 0% | Singapore |
Compared to the average, this trial period is longer than average (average 166 night trial period) and the warranty is slightly shorter than average. Comparing all mattresses tested to date, 25% of mattresses offer a lifetime warranty and 75% of mattresses have a 14-year average.
How firm is Siena Premier?
The Siena Premier Hybrid has a firmness of 6 out of 10 and a medium-firm feel. This firmness is suitable for a wide range of sleepers.

Support & Sleeping Positions
The Siena Premier Hybrid has a good level of support. During our tests, I felt well-supported in all sleeping positions.
The mattress has a fairly standard 7.0” spring coil unit. Given the price point, it’s nothing fancy, but it does get the job done. On average, support layers are 7.9” thick, based on all of our tests to date.

As a result, the Siena Hybrid’s 7.0” support layer is a little below average. As with pressure relief, my only real support concerns are for more heavier-weighted bodies. For bodies under 200 pounds, I expect support will be perfectly sufficient. However, as body weight increases so does the chance of support problems.
Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleepers | Side Sleepers | Back Sleepers |
---|---|---|---|
Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
150-250 lbs. | Maybe | Maybe | Maybe |
250-300 lbs. | No | No | No |
For sleepers over 200 pounds, I would recommend a thicker mattress with a more robust support and comfort layer. That said, if you’re on a super tight budget the Siena Hybrid remains a solid value.

The Cover
The cover is a thin, stretchy cover made of a blend of polyester and spandex. It has a gray and white striped aesthetic.

The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer contains a 1.0″ memory foam followed by a 2.0″ traditional poly foam. Siena calls the top layer a “gel memory foam”, but an assessment of the foam doesn’t indicate any strong presence of gel and we didn’t really see the performance advantages that gel foams typically provide (better cooling namely).

The Support Layer
The support layer of the Siena Premier is a 7.0″ coil unit. The coils are individually wrapped with fabric, which typically helps reduce motion. However, that’s not what we experienced in our motion transfer test.

In addition, the coils just don’t seem to be as supportive or high-quality as we see in other higher priced hybrid mattresses.
Product Evolution
The Siena Premier Hybrid is a new hybrid by Siena, launched in 2024. This release comes after the release of the Siena mattress, an all-foam mattress launched in 2022.
Both Sienas offer a different mattress type at an extremely low-budget cost. For sleepers on a tight budget, Siena certainly has its appeal.

The Emma Hybrid Cooling Elite is a 12″ hybrid designed for advanced cooling. It out-performs the Siena Premier in other areas as well, with low levels of motion transfer, fast material response, and better edge support. Priced at $929 for a queen, this is another great pick for a value hybrid.
For Firmness

Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid
8.88 Overall Score
The Brooklyn Bedding Signature Hybrid is a 12″ hybrid made of poly foam and pocketed coils. This mattress outperforms the Siena Premier in every category we test for. Of course, the price point is also more ($999 for a queen), but is still one of the best value hybrids we’ve tested to date.
For Motion Transfer

Zoma Hybrid
