How is Logan & Cove Pinnacle Different?
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has an overall performance level that is slightly better than average and a price that is C$146 less than the average hybrid.
Advantages
Advantages include better cooling performance, better edge support, and better pressure relief. The Pinnacle hybrid has a 5.0″ comfort layer, which is thicker than the average by nearly a full inch.
Neutral Factors
Sinkage is deep and bounce levels are moderate, giving the mattress an engaging feel.
Disadvantages
Disadvantages of the Pinnacle mattress include higher levels of motion transfer and lower sex score (mostly due to the slightly lower bounce levels).

Cooling Test
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
76.7° F
Max Temp.
89.9° F
Ending Temp.
79.1° F
The mattress breathes well and the foam layers seem to avoid heat retention. The inclusion of two separate microcoil layers in addition to the support layer of pocketed coils provides a ton of airflow to the mattress.
In addition, these are effectively air gap layers that really cannot retain any heat. Among the remaining foam layers we have high quality memory and poly foam.
Max Temp.

Cooling Test Before
Ending Temp

Cooling Test After
- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
Overall, I’m pleased with the material quality, material choices, and layered design.
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 89.9°, which is 0.2° cooler than average.
After getting off the mattress the temperature declined by 6.4° from minutes 0 to 1, which is 1.7° cooler than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.7°.
When we consider the complete picture of objective data, subjective experience, and material analysis, I’m confident most sleepers will find the Pinnacle to be sufficiently cool.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

Sinkage Test
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has a deep level of sinkage. In our tests, we measured a sinkage depth of 2.36”. This is 10% more sinkage than the average of 2.14”, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
2.36″
Sinkage Feel
Deep
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The deeper sinkage means there is more material wrapping around the body. However, there isn’t a dramatic body contouring hug. In addition, the comfort layer compresses fairly easily, which makes sense given the two microcoil layers.
This dynamic creates a sort of fluffy cloud-like comfort and a balanced body contouring hug as the body is transitioned into the support layers. The overall feel is very similar to Logan & Cove’s Frontier mattress.
Motion Transfer Test
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has a high level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured an acceleration range of 12.44 m/s². This is 42% more motion transfer than the average of 8.77 m/s², based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Acceleration
4.69 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-7.75 m/s²
Accel. Range
12.44 m/s²
The higher motion is almost certainly the result of the two microcoil layers within the mattress.
These two microcoil layers give way to pressure easily, allowing for deeper sinkage and more abrupt and substantial contact with the pocketed coil base. This combination of factors allows for a higher level of motion.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion from 0 to 0.07 seconds.
Motion declines thereafter, but remains spikey until 0.58 seconds. By 0.94 seconds we’ve returned to near-zero levels of energy. Neither the motion peaks nor motion duration are ideal.

The Pinnacle mattress has more motion transfer than both the Logan & Cove Choice & Frontier models. The increase in motion is likely a result of the two microcoil layers.
Response Test
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has a very fast mostly recovered response time, but only a moderately fast fully recovered time. In our mostly recovered test, we measured 0.3 seconds for the mattress to rebound back to shape. This is 0.1 seconds faster than the average of 0.40 seconds.
Mostly Recovered
0.3 sec.
Complete Recovery
1.0 sec.
In our fully recovered test, we measured 1.0 seconds for the mattress to rebound back to shape. This is 0.1 seconds slower than the average of 0.90 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
Suffice to say, these responsiveness speeds are far from instant, especially the fully recovered measurement. 1.0 seconds is a moment or two to rebound back to its original shape and it’s notably slower than the average.
Even so, I am not overly worried by these response speeds. Yes, they are far from instant, but for most sleepers, they are still sufficiently fast enough to be a non-issue.
Bounce Test
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has a moderate level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 8.73”. This is 0.90” less bounce than the average of 9.63”, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
4.79″
Max. Rebound
3.94″
Total Bounce
8.73″
The Pinnacle’s material and layered design create the right conditions to keep bounce on the lower side. The microcoil layers in particular don’t return significant energy; same as the foam layers.
As a result, we’re relying on the pocketed coil base to provide the bulk of the bounce, but it’s greatly restrained by the 5.0” comfort layer.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
All that to say, this bounce level is still moderate. Yes, it could absolutely be higher, which would lead to better sex and better ease of movement, but at 8.73” I still expect most sleepers will be satisfied with this level of bounce.
Edge Support Test
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has excellent edge support. During our tests, we measured 3.50” of sitting sinkage compression. This is 0.51” less sitting sinkage than the average of 4.01”, based on all of our tests to date.
Max Sinkage
3.50″
Lying Support
Excellent
While sitting directly on the edge of the mattress I felt well supported and there was no collapse of materials. Certainly, having a thicker-than-average 14.0” total layered profile is helping.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

In addition, lying edge support was equally as impressive. While lying directly on the edge of the mattress I felt well supported in all sleeping positions. The Pinnacle uses reinforced edge support foam that run along the entire perimeter of the mattress.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

The extra supportive foam is having a sizable impact on edge support for both sitting and lying. Overall, I’m pleased with the edge support performance and I expect most sleepers will be as well.
Sex Test
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has a good level of sex performance, but it’s also far from great.
During our tests, we experienced a low level of noise with excellent pressure relief, cooling, and edge support (just 3.5” of sitting sinkage compression on the edge).
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 7.9 | Moderate |
Edge Support | 20% | 9.4 | Excellent |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
However, bounce was only moderate at 8.73”. Higher bounce creates better pushback and an easier time for amorous activities.
At 8.73” bounce isn’t low by any stretch, but it’s also far from high. The limited bounce will make the dance without pants more strenuous for some.
Pressure Relief Test
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has an excellent level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no pressure points anywhere on my body. The mattress is incredibly comfortable to lie on in all sleeping positions.
Comfort Layer
5.0″
Support Layer
9.0″
The Pinnacle is equipped with 5.0” of comfort materials including a 1.5” quilted cover, 1.0” memory foam, two 1.0” microcoil layers, and a 0.5” poly foam. This combination of foams is notably thicker than the 4.1” average comfort layer thickness, based on all of our tests to date.

For most of the comfort layer, I’m perfectly pleased with the quality, feel, and performance. However, the 0.5” poly foam is definitely a weak spot, in my view.
This particular layer feels more like a support foam layer than a comfort layer. Even so, we still have 4.5” of other comfort materials providing ample pressure relief for the Pinnacle.
In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max pressure point of 1.49 PSI (while lying on my side). This pressure was localized to my shoulder. In the side lying pressure map below you can see the hip was notably lower pressure. A PSI of 2.0 is considered a high pressure point and the L&C Pinnacle doesn’t come anywhere near those levels.
Pressure on while lying on my back and stomach was notably lower than while on my side. Overall, I’m pleased with the level of pressure and I expect most sleepers will be satisfied with the pressure relief on the Pinnacle.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Side Sleepers | 0.18 | 1.49 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Back Sleepers | 0.12 | 1.30 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Stomach Sleepers | 0.12 | 1.06 |
Off-Gassing Test
Off-gassing on the Logan & Cove Pinnacle is strong out of the box and the odor lasted for 5 days. The average off-gassing duration is 7 days so the Pinnacle is a couple of days faster than average.
Initial Smell Strength
Strong
Off-Gassing Period
5 days
I will add that the smell more closely resembled the odor of wet paint, at least for the first couple of days. It was strong right out of the box, but after a few days, it did lessen until it was completely gone by day 5.
Company
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle hybrid comes with a 365-night trial period and a 15-year warranty. Shipping and returns are both free.
Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
---|---|---|---|
Trial Period | 15% | 10 | 365 nights |
Warranty | 10% | 8.0 | 15 years |
Shipping | 5% | 10 | $0 |
Returns | 20% | 10 | $0 |
Trust | 50% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Country of Origin | 0% | Canada |
Compared to average, the Pinnacle has a longer trial (average is 173 nights) and a longer warranty as well. Among over 250+ mattresses tested, 24% have lifetime warranties and the average of the other 76% of mattresses is 13 years.
How firm is Logan & Cove Pinnacle?
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has a medium feel with a firmness level of 5 out of 10.

At a medium feel it’s slightly softer than the Logan and Cove Choice, which is a medium-firm 6 out of 10.
The Logan and Cove Frontier is also a 5 out of 10 medium feel.
Support & Sleeping Positions
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has outstanding support. During our tests, I felt fully supported in all sleeping positions. The Pinnacle uses an impressively thick 9.0” support layer.
This layer is a pocketed coil unit that has zoned support. Zoned support creates more support where the body needs it, allowing sleepers to achieve a more neutral spinal alignment.

In addition, the mattress uses reinforced edge support foam that run along the perimeter of the mattress. This provides more robust support from end-to-end that enables sleeping at the very edge of the mattress.
Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleepers | Side Sleepers | Back Sleepers |
---|---|---|---|
Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
When you couple the impressive support layer materials with a 5.0” comfort layer and medium feel the result is a mattress that provides fantastic support.

Materials
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle has 6 primary layers. The top 5 are comfort layers and the bottom layer is for support.
- 1.5” quilted cover
- 1.0” memory foam
- 1.0” microcoils
- 0.5” poly foam
- 1.0” microcoils
- 9.0” coil unit
- Reinforced edge support foam 4.5” wide

There is a lot of batting and extra material in between layers. The cover itself is also very taut around the sides so the microcoil layers may normally be less “puffy”. As a result, their measurement may vary a bit.
The law tag was a bit sparse on information. Most likely due to the fact that we received an early prototype version of the mattress.
The Law Tag outlines the full breakdown of materials included in this mattress.

The Cover
The cover of the Logan & Cove Pinnacle is a 1.5″ quilted cover. It is quilted for a plush feel and provides a nice degree of contour and softness to the surface of the mattress.

The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer includes a combination of foam and microcoils. Beneath the quilted cover, the top layer of foam is a 1.0″ memory foam followed by a 1.0″ microcoils layer.
The next layer is a 0.5″ poly foam. Although this is categorized as a poly foam, it looks and acts like a support foam, as it is very firm and quite hard.

This layer is sandwiched between two layers of microcoils so it’s not a layer you are laying directly on, but one that still influences the total comfort dynamic of the matatress.
The bottom of the comfort layer is a 1.0″ microcoil layer, similar to the microcoil layer above the poly foam.
The Support Layer
The support system is a 9.0″ layer of pocketed coils. Within this system, each coil is individually encased in a thin fabric. This allows each coil to move independently with each other and limits motion transfer.

Product Evolution
The Logan & Cove Pinnacle hybrid was newly launched in August 2024. Being new to the Logan & Cove lineup, there have been no major changes made to the mattress since its release.
As newer versions of this mattress come out, we will circle back and update this section as needed.
