Best For
- Sleepers on a budget, costs 31% less than the average hybrid
- Extremely high bounce and good edge support, good for couples
- Extremely fast response time
Considerations
- Higher levels of motion transfer, 47% more motion than average
- Only 2.5″ comfort material, may not be sufficient for heavier weight sleepers
- Long off-gassing time
Our Verdict
The Endy Hybrid mattress is a 13.5″ hybrid with a quilted cover, poly foam, and zoned pocketed coils. It has more of a floating feel when lying on the mattress, but solid performance across the board.
The only area where it struggled was higher levels of motion transfer and off-gassing. But considering the price tag is also 31% lower than the average hybrid, these factors may not be a deal-breaker for you.

How is Endy Hybrid Different?
The Endy Hybrid mattress has an overall score that is slightly below average, but a price tag that is significantly below the average—a savings of 31% compared to the average hybrid.
In our performance tests, the Endy Hybrid has slightly better cooling, better edge support, a thicker profile (1.6″ thicker than average), and better sex performance.
Areas where the Endy performed worse than average include higher levels of motion transfer (47% more than average), a thinner comfort layer, and longer off-gassing.
Considering preferential factors, the Endy Hybrid has 14% less sinkage than average as well as bounce levels that are 32% higher than average.
Cooling Test
Cooling performance on the Endy Hybrid is excellent. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
79.7° F
Max Temp.
91.9° F
Ending Temp.
82.6° F
The hybrid design helps to create extra breathability and airflow, while the choice to use poly foam instead of memory foam reduces heat retention in the foam layers.
Lastly, the mattress creates more of a “floating on top” of the mattress feel, which helps further prevent heat retention (compared to mattresses that allow sleeper bodies to sink down and become enveloped by the foam layers).
Max Temp.

Ending Temp

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
In our objective testing, we measured a max surface level temperature of 91.9°, which is 2.78° higher than the average. While a higher-than-average max temp isn’t ideal, I was pleased with the level of rapid heat dissipation.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

After getting off the mattress from minutes 0 to 1 the temperature dropped by 4.5° (which is about average) and from minutes 0 to 5 by 9.3° (which is 2.28° cooler than average).
While the Endy Hybrid is far from a miracle worker, it will be plenty serviceable with respect to the cooling needs of most sleepers.
Sinkage Test
The Endy Hybrid has a minimal level of sinkage. In our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 1.88”. This is 0.31” less sinkage than the average of 2.19”.
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The mattress creates more of a “floating on top” of the mattress feel as opposed to sinking down “in” the mattress. It’s not as dramatic as the all-foam version of the Endy, but the feel still leans more in the same direction.
During our tests, I did feel a little more sinkage in my midsection and butt, as the extra weight creates greater compression. Even so, the overall body contouring hug is quite restrained. The Endy Hybrid is best suited to those sleepers who like and prefer less body contouring hug.
Motion Transfer Test
The Endy Hybrid has a high level of motion transfer. In our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 11.83 m/s². This is 3.80 m/s² more motion than the average of 8.03 m/s².
Max. Acceleration
6.19 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-5.64 m/s²
Accel. Range
11.83 m/s²
The pocketed coil base, medium firm to slightly firm feel, thin cover, and floating feel on top all work together to create this less-than-ideal level of motion.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.27 seconds.
There’s a short declining window before we see a secondary motion spike from 0.56 to 0.77 seconds. By 1.12 seconds motion has dissipated back to near zero levels.

Neither the motion peak, secondary spike, or motion duration paint a pretty picture. Mattresses with the least motion are able to disperse all energy within 0.3 seconds. Needless to say, Endy’s Hybrid is pretty far from that mark, and by our scoring system has a high level of motion.
Response Test
The Endy Hybrid has an extremely fast response time. In our tests, we measured a mostly recovered response time of 0.2 seconds and a fully recovered response time of 0.3 seconds.
Mostly Recovered
0.2 sec.
Complete Recovery
0.3 sec.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
Both of these recovery speeds are notably faster than the averages of 0.43 and 0.87 seconds, respectively.
In fact, at 0.2 and 0.3 seconds, the Endy Hybrid is tied with a number of other mattresses for the fastest we’ve tested to date. The hybrid design and responsive poly foams create rapid responsiveness across the mattress.
The fast response ensures sleepers won’t feel stuck, makes it easy to move around on the mattress, and improves sex performance.
Bounce Test
The Endy Hybrid has an extremely high level of bounce. In our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 12.77”. This is 3.15” more bounce than the average of 9.62”.
Max. Depth
5.22″
Max. Rebound
7.55″
Total Bounce
12.77″
While higher bounce is indeed excellent for sex and general movement on the mattress, it also creates a higher level of motion transfer (which we confirmed in our objective motion transfer testing).
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
At 12.77” the Endy Hybrid has lots of bounce, which is the biggest contributing factor for its near-perfect sex score (just 2 sections further down the page).
The highly responsive poly foam and hybrid design are both working together to deliver the very high level of bounce we recorded.
Edge Support Test
Edge support on the Endy Hybrid is a bit of a mixed bag. I found sitting edge support to be excellent, while lying edge support is good, but not amazing.
Max Sinkage
3.50″
Lying Support
Good
In our sitting edge support tests, we measured 3.5” of sitting sinkage compression. This is 0.73” less sitting sinkage than the average of 4.23”.
Even when sitting directly on the edge of the mattress the Endy Hybrid creates solid support. However, lying edge support left something to be desired.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

While lying on my back at the edge I felt a little too much sinkage at the absolute edge. This creates a situation where the portion of my back nearer the edge is sinking down further than the other half of my back, creating less than great support.
I am a little surprised at the level of lying edge support, especially considering the perimeter edge support coil.
All that said, I won’t go as far as to say edge support is bad. It absolutely is not. It’s just a little squishier at the absolute edge than an excellent or exceptional-performing mattress would be.
Sex Test
The best mattresses for sex have high bounce, good edge support, quiet materials, and good pressure relief and cooling.
These 5 factors make up the NapLab sex performance score.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 10 | Extremely High |
Edge Support | 20% | 9.4 | Excellent |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
This mattress has high levels of bounce and good edge support. It is quiet and has good pressure relief and cooling as well. Overall, it is a nearly perfect score and has exactly what we’re looking for when considering factors pertaining to sex.

Pressure Relief Test
Pressure relief on the Endy Hybrid is excellent. During our tests, I felt no significant level of pressure point build-up.
Comfort Layer
2.5″
Support Layer
11.0″
The mattress uses a 2.5” comfort layer with a core 3.0” transitional poly foam layer. That 3.0” poly foam core creates a hybrid of support and comfort. It won’t yield as much pressure relief as a dedicated comfort foam would, but it’s still responsible for some portion of the total pressure relief dynamic.
Ideally, I want to see at least 4.0” of comfort foam (with 4.2” being the average). If we include the transitional poly foam into the total comfort layer thickness we have a 5.5” comfort foam layer.

That would be a fairly generous analysis of the material layers, but simply saying the mattress only has a 2.5” comfort layer would be harsher.
All that to say, I certainly would have preferred a higher performance poly foam, memory foam, or latex foam in the core of the mattress, as such a foam would create a higher level of pressure relief performance.
In my view, most sleepers will find the pressure relief dynamic to be more than fine (provided you like the firmness).
However, I do think heavier-weighted sleepers and/or more sensitive sleepers could find the poly foam core just isn’t the right feel for their body.
Off-Gassing Test
Off-gassing of the Endy Hybrid was strong right out of the box. The odor smelled a bit like a wet pet and in total, it took 23 days for the mattress to off-gas.
Initial Smell Strength
Strong
Off-Gassing Period
23 days
At the conclusion of the test, the smell was substantially dissipated from where it started. However, there was a slight lingering smell. It’s likely this will fully dissipate within the new few weeks. More sensitive smellers could find the slight lingering smell too much though.
Company
The company score takes a look at factors that may influence your experience with the mattress.
Factors include length of the trial period, warranty, shipping / return costs, and country of origin.
Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
---|---|---|---|
Trial Period | 15% | 8.0 | 100 nights |
Warranty | 10% | 8.0 | 15 years |
Shipping | 5% | 10 | $0 |
Returns | 20% | 10 | $0 |
Trust | 50% | 8.0 | Good |
Country of Origin | 0% | Canada |
Endy comes with a 100-night trial period and a 15-year warranty. Shipping is free and so are returns if the mattress ends up not working out.
Lastly, the Endy mattress is manufactured and distributed from a factory in Canada.
How firm is the Endy Hybrid?
The Endy Hybrid has a firmness of 6.5 out of 10, giving the mattress a medium firm to slightly firm feel. The feel is quite similar to that of the all-foam Endy mattress.

A firmness at this range would be suitable to meet the needs of a wider group of sleepers. It is firm enough to provide support for heavier or back / stomach sleepers (who generally prefer a firmer feel), while also being soft enough to be suitable for lightweight or side sleepers (who tend to need a softer feel).
Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the Endy Hybrid is excellent. During our tests, I felt well-supported in all sleeping positions. The only significant issue is the limited 2.5” comfort layer, which could create pressure relief issues for some, which will create potential support issues.

However, as far as support goes, the mattress does keep sleeper bodies well supported.
The medium firm to slightly firm feel, thick 13.5” profile, and zoned coil unit all work together to create solid performance.
Given the price point, the mattress does far more correct than it does wrong. The few things I am nitpicking over are pretty minor in the grand scheme of things. I am confident the mattress can support most body types and sleeper positions up to 300 pounds.
Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleepers | Side Sleepers | Back Sleepers |
---|---|---|---|
Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Design
The Endy Hybrid is a 13.5″ mattress with a medium-firm feel. It has a 2.5″ comfort layer, 3.0″ transition layer, and a support system of pocketed coils and support foam.
Type
Hybrid
Thickness
13.5″
Firmness
6.5
This is a tried and tested design approach that we have seen on dozens of other mattresses. It is built for comfort and durability, capturing the best of both materials (foam and coils).

Materials
Within the 13.5″ profile of the mattress, there are five distinct layers. From top to bottom, the layers are outlined as follows:
- 0.5” Quilted Cover
- 2.0” Poly Foam
- 3.0” Poly Foam (transitional)
- 6.0” Pocketed Coils
- 2.0” Support Foam

The Cover
The cover of the Endy Hybrid mattress is 100% polyester with a diamond tufted pattern. It is soft and has a plush feel while still retaining a minimal level of sinkage for that “floating on top” feel when sleepers lie on the mattress.

On the sides of the mattress are quilted borders also made of 100% polyester with handles designed into the sides. This makes it easier to move or maneuver the mattress as needed.
The Comfort Layer
Below the quilted cover is the comfort layer, which is broken up into two different foams. The top layer is a 2.0″ comfort poly foam and the second layer is a 3.0″ transitional poly foam. This is the same basic design as the all-foam Endy.

The Support Layer
The support layer is made up of a 6″ layer of pocketed coils followed by a 2.0″ high-density support foam.
The coils are made of high-carbon steel wrapped in 100″ polypropylene and have a zoned design. This gives additional support in areas of high pressure, like the back, hips, and shoulders.

There is also a segment of perimeter edge support coils which are thicker and provide the maximum support along the edge of the mattress.
Product Evolution
The Endy Hybrid mattress was launched in mid-2022 and has not undergone any major design changes since its release.
As the mattress ages and / or in changed, I will circle back and update this section as needed.
