Best For
- Great pressure relief with a 5.5″ comfort layer
- Great value mattress with above-average performance
- Fast material response time
Considerations
- Sex performance is lacking, largely due ot lower levels of bounce
- Cooling is good, but certainly not the best that we’ve seen
- High-profile design may not work for all foundations if you want something low profile
Our Verdict
The DreamCloud Premier is a 13.5″ memory foam mattress made of memory foam, transitional poly foam, and a support foam base. It is topped with a 1.5″ quilted cover and has carrying handles on the sides of the mattress. This mattress is also available as a hybrid. You can find our review of the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid here. This is the all foam version of the Premier.
The DreamCloud Premier is available in a single firmness level — medium-firm.
This mattress has moderate sinkage and low levels of bounce. If you’re looking for a more traditional memory foam feel, the DreamCloud Premier could be a solid pick for you.
In our performance tests, this mattress earned an overall score of 8.83, ranking the mattress in the top 35% of all mattresses tested to date. When we consider only memory foam mattresses, that rank rises to the top 12% of mattresses.
The DreamCloud Premier is $1,099 for a queen-sized mattress, which is 24% less than the average mattress. Or if we exclusively look at memory foam mattresses only, the DreamCloud Premier is actually 5% more expensive than the average memory foam mattress.

How is DreamCloud Premier Different?
The DreamCloud Premier is a 13.5″ memory foam mattress with an overall performance level that is higher than average and a price tag that is slightly more expensive than average.
Advantages
Advantages of the DreamCloud Premier include lower levels of motion transfer, fast material response time, better edge support when sitting or lying, and better pressure relief as well.
The DreamCloud Premier has 5.5″ of comfort material and is 13.5″ thick, which is only an inch thicker than the average mattress.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has moderate levels of sinkage and a low level of bounce. In all reality, this is a pretty balanced feel for a memory foam mattress. It’s not too dramatic, yet still notably memory foam.

Disadvantages
Disadvantages of the DreamCloud Premier include slightly worse cooling performance and a sex performance that is quite a bit lower than average.
But seeing as it’s a memory foam mattress, this isn’t really surprising. Memory foam is known for their viscoelasticity, dramatic contour, and slower response time. It’s these exact qualities that give the foam its notable feel—desirable to many sleepers, but also a silent killer for the sex score.
Cooling Test
The DreamCloud Premier has good cooling. During our tests, I felt a slight heat retention around my body. Even so, it was nothing extreme and nothing I would describe as “hot” or even “warm”.
Baseline Temp.
74.2° F
Max. Temp.
91.4° F
Ending Temp.
83.5° F
The DreamCloud Premier has a simple all-foam design with a thick 2.0” memory foam layer. In most cases, all foam designs don’t breathe as well as hybrid designs do.
Max. Temp.

Ending Temp.

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
In our tests of the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid we experienced better cooling performance. Beyond the all foam design, the thick 2.0” memory foam layer also just doesn’t breathe as well as many other types of poly foam.
These design and material choices are limiting the overall cooling performance. Notably, this mattress is equipped with cooling fibers; however, those don’t seem to have a major impact on cooling performance.
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 91.4° F. This is 1.4° more than the average of 90.0° F, based on all of our tests to date.
After getting off the mattress, the temperature declined by 3.0 degrees from minutes 0 to 1, which is 1.8 degrees warmer than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.8 degrees.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is good.
Sinkage Test
The DreamCloud Premier has moderate sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.25″. This is 0.04″ more sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.21″, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
2.25″
Sinkage Feel
Moderate
The mattress creates a balanced body contouring hug, but also creates a notable memory foam feel. The memory foam layers conform precisely to the shape of your body.
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

Because the sinkage depth is only moderate, the exacting body hug isn’t extreme or overly enveloping, as many memory foam mattresses can be. Overall, it’s a balanced feel, but one in which sleepers will really feel the contouring of memory foam.
Motion Transfer Test
The DreamCloud Premier has a low level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 8.29 m/s². This is 6% less motion transfer than the average of 8.78 m/s².
Accel. Range
8.29 m/s²
Motion Duration
0.49 seconds
The DreamCloud benefits from the all-foam design and thick 2.0” memory foam layer in the comfort layer. All foam designs, especially those that contain memory foam, do an amazing job at reducing bounce, dispersing energy, and ultimately reducing motion transfer.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.2 seconds. Immediately thereafter, we see a significant decline in acceleration.
By 0.49 seconds, we’ve returned to near-zero levels of energy, which is 0.39 seconds shorter than the average motion duration of 0.88 seconds.
Motion Transfer Over Time

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with what I see. Both motion intensity and motion duration are shorter than average.
Response Test
The DreamCloud Premier has an extremely fast mostly recovered response time and a very fast fully recovered response time.
Mostly Recovered
0.2 sec.
Fully Recovered
0.5 sec.
In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.2 seconds, which is 0.20 seconds faster than the average of 0.40 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.5 seconds, which is 0.50 seconds faster than the average of 1.00 seconds. Overall, this is an excellent performance.
Both of our responsiveness tests were faster than average. This rapid response ensures the mattress is easy to move around on and it won’t create any type of a “stuck” feeling.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
Often all foam mattresses, especially those that contain memory foam, can struggle more with material recovery speed. However, that wasn’t the case here.
DreamCloud is using a memory foam formulation that creates the feel of memory foam, but also has a quick responsiveness, delivering the best of both worlds.
Bounce Test
The DreamCloud Premier has a low level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 7.29″. This is 1.61″ less bounce than the average of 8.90″, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
4.80″
Max. Rebound
2.49″
Total Bounce
7.29″
Much like motion transfer, the lower-than-average bounce is the result of the all-foam design.
Foam mattresses, especially those that contain memory foam, simply absorb and disperse energy better than hybrids, latex, and many other mattress types. This results in a below-average level of bounce.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max. Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
That lower bounce is a significant reason that motion transfer is also lower. Even so, lower bounce is a negative for amorous activities. So you should consider which performance category is most important to you: sex or motion transfer?
Edge Support Test
The DreamCloud Premier has outstanding sitting edge support and excellent lying edge support.
Max. Sinkage
3.00″
Lying Support
Excellent
In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 3.00″.
This is 0.95″ less sitting sinkage than the average of 3.95″, based on all of our tests to date.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

While lying directly on the edge of the mattress, I felt that the support was excellent in all sleeping positions.
Notably, the DreamCloud Premier lacks any type of reinforced support foam along the edge. Even so, it didn’t seem to need it. The mattress only creates a moderate level of sinkage of 2.25”.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

Having a more restrained sinkage helps create a more supportive feel on the mattress at large and that robust support extends to the edge.
The sinkage dynamic, combined with the thicker-than-average total height, creates the right material and design conditions to create fantastic support at the edge.
Sex Test
The DreamCloud Premier has fair sex performance. Let’s start off with the good stuff. First up, noise is minimal and edge support is outstanding.
With just 3.0” of sitting edge sinkage the edge is highly supportive, making the edge a functional, usable part of the mattress for sex.

Next, we have pressure relief, which earned an excellent score due to good material quality and a thicker-than-average comfort layer.
Moving on we have cooling, which earned a good, but not great score. Certainly, it could have been better, but it should be good enough for most.
Lastly, we need to talk about bounce. We measured bounce at just 7.29”, which is notably lower than average. That lower bounce means the mattress is simply more strenuous and tiring to have sex on.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 7.0 | Moderate |
Edge Support | 20% | 10 | Outstanding |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Cooling | 5% | 8.0 | Good |
Memory foam mattresses are often worse to have sex on compared to coil, hybrid, latex, and other mattress types with more bounce.
Pressure Relief Test
The DreamCloud Premier has an excellent level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no notable pressure points on my body.
The mattress is equipped with 5.5″ of comfort material, which is 1.24″ more comfort material than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.26″, based on all of our tests to date.
Comfort Layer
5.5″
Support Layer
8.0″
The quality of the foam looks and feels good, both on the body and in-hand. This mattress has a balanced feel with only moderate sinkage. However, it also has a noted memory foam feel.
This isn’t good or bad, but you will want to like the memory foam feel to enjoy this comfort dynamic.

In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 0.85. This is well within the 1.0 PSI threshold that I want to see. We did not measure or experience any notable pressure point issues with this mattress.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Side Sleepers | 0.14 | 0.85 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Back Sleepers | 0.07 | 0.68 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Stomach Sleepers | 0.08 | 0.60 |
When I consider our objective pressure mapping tests, material thickness, material quality, and my subjective experience on the mattress, I’m confident most sleepers will find the pressure relief to be excellent.
Off-Gassing Test
The DreamCloud Premier had a strong smell upon the initial unboxing. The mattress smelled for 5 days. This is 1.9 days shorter than the average smell duration of 6.9 days.

How firm is DreamCloud Premier?
The DreamCloud Premier memory foam mattress is available in a single firmness, 6 out of 10, which gives the mattress a medium-firm feel.

This firmness is generally suitable for a wide range of sleepers looking for a balanced feel of both support and pressure relief.
Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the DreamCloud Premier is excellent. During our tests, I felt well supported in all sleeping positions.
The mattress is equipped with an 8.0″ support layer. This is 0.1″ thicker than the average support layer thickness of 7.9″, based on all of our tests to date.

The DreamCloud Premier is available in a single firmness, which we rated at a 6 out of 10 on our firmness scale, giving the mattress a medium-firm feel. A medium-firm feel works well for most body types and sleeping positions.
This mattress does not use any type of zoned support. It has a consistent, supportive feel from the head to the foot of the mattress. This mattress has a total height that is notably thicker than average, with a support and comfort layer that is also thicker than average.

While thicker isn’t always better, in most cases, including this one, it creates better support. It also generally leads to better durability for the mattress. Having more material comforting and supporting the body is simply better than having less.
Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleeper | Side Sleeper | Back Sleeper |
---|---|---|---|
Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
The only major support consideration is the mattress creates a notable memory foam feel with a more exacting hug around the body. You’ll need to enjoy the feel of memory foam to be comfortable on the DreamCloud Premier.
Based on all of my tests to date, an analysis of the materials, and my subjective experiences, I’m confident most sleepers will find support on the DreamCloud Premier is excellent.

The Cover
The DreamCloud Premier has a 1.5″ quilted cover. Euro-gussets on the side of the mattress help the top layers to breathe a little better and there are also handles on the sides of the mattress.

The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer is 5.5″ thick if we include the quilted cover. Directly below the quilted cover, there are two layers of foam.
On top, we see a 2.00” memory foam (blue foam) followed by a second foam, a 2.00” poly foam that acts more as a transitional layer between comfort and support.

These two foam layers work in tandem with the quilted layer on top to provide a robust comfort layer and memory foam feel.
The Support Layer
The support layer is 8″ thick and made of a single piece of support foam (light green).

This foam serves as the foundational layer of the DreamCloud Premier mattress.
Product Evolution
DreamCloud came from the same makers of the Nectar mattress, with Nectar launching in 2017 and DreamCloud following shortly after in 2018.
DreamCloud offers a collection that includes hybrid mattresses as well as memory foam mattresses.

The DreamCloud Premier has been part of the flagship lineup since 2020. When the DreamCloud Premier first launched it was only available as a hybrid model.
In 2024, DreamCloud began selling an all foam memory foam version (which is what we’ve tested here).
If you’re interested in the hybrid version you can find our review here.
Other Mattresses to Consider

For Performance

Amerisleep AS3
Medium Feel, 5 out of 10
The Amerisleep AS3 mattress is a 12″ memory foam mattress available in 1 firmness level—medium. Like the DreamCloud, the AS3 also has a memory foam top layer and poly foam transitional layer. The overall performance is better on the AS3, but it also has a higher price tag.
For Cooling

Novosbed
9 out of 10 Cooling Score
The Novosbed mattress is an 11″ memory foam mattress available in 3 firmness levels—soft, medium-firm, and firm. In our tests, it earned a great performance score all around, with its only real weakness being the sex performance. But again, this not uncommon for memory foam mattresses.
For Medium Feel

Nectar Luxe
Exceptional Pressure Relief
The Nectar Luxe mattress is a 13.75″ memory foam mattress available in 1 firmness level—medium. This mattress has a copper poly foam for the top layer, a different approach than any other mattress listed in this review. This gives the Luxe great cooling, despite having deep sinkage.
