Best For
- Memory Foam with exceptional pressure relief
- Lower levels of motion transfer, 22% less than the average level
- Deep sinkage and a more dramatic contour
Considerations
- Very low bounce is not ideal for sex performance
- Cooling is good, but certainly not great
- Edge support is slightly worse than average
Our Verdict
The DreamCloud Luxe is a 14.5″ memory foam mattress made of memory foam, transitional poly foam, and a support foam base. It has a quilted cover and handles on the side of the mattress for easily rotating or transporting the mattress.
The DreamCloud Luxe is available in a single firmness level — medium-firm.
This mattress has deep sinkage and very low levels of bounce. If you enjoy the more dramatic contour of classic memory foam, the Luxe is a fantastic pick. It hugs the body without having a slow material response time.
In our performance tests, this mattress earned an overall score of 8.87, ranking the mattress in the top 30% of all mattresses tested to date. Looking exclusively at memory foam mattresses, this rank rises to the top 5% of all memory foam mattresses that we’ve tested.
The DreamCloud Luxe is $1,599 for a queen-sized mattress, which is 56% more than the average memory foam mattress. The price is higher, but so is performance so this is definitely a case of “getting what you pay for”.

How is DreamCloud Luxe Different?
The DreamCloud Luxe is a 14.5″ memory foam mattress with an overall performance level that is better than the average mattress and performs among the top 5% of all memory foam mattresses tested.
The price is also quite a bit higher. Priced at $1,599 for a queen mattress, the DreamCloud Luxe is 56% more than the average memory foam mattress. If you’re looking for a luxury memory foam mattress, the Luxe is a fantastic option.

Advantages
Specific advantages to the DreamCloud Luxe include lower levels of motion transfer, fast material responsiveness, and exceptional pressure relief.
Including the quilted cover, comfort layer, and transitional foam, there is 7.0″ of comfort material on the DreamCloud Luxe. Off-gassing is also faster than average and the company earns a 10/10 score for company terms.
The DreamCloud Luxe is backed by a 365-night trial period and a lifetime warranty.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has deep levels of sinkage and very low levels of bounce. The memory foam comfort layer provides a great deal of body hug and contour.
Being an all-foam mattress, edge support is also a bit neutral. It has near-average levels of sinkage when seated directly at the edge of the mattress.
Disadvantages
The biggest disadvantage of the DreamCloud Luxe is a below-average sex performance score. But this is hardly a specific disadvantage to the DreamCloud Luxe, and more so a disadvantage of memory foam mattresses as a whole.
Memory foam generally has less bounce than other mattress types and may also have worse edge support. These two factors alone make up 80% of the sex score, so anything less than bouncy can really hurt the sex score.
Cooling Test
The DreamCloud Luxe has good cooling. During our tests, I felt a slight level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
78.0° F
Max. Temp.
92.0° F
Ending Temp.
83.7° F
It wasn’t anything extreme, but it wasn’t nothing either. The cooling performance was notably worse than the hybrid version (see our DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid review for more).
In my view, what’s limiting the cooling performance is a combination of the all foam design, thick 3.0” memory foam layer, and deeper sinkage.
All foam mattresses simply don’t breathe as well as hybrid and other mattress types with coils. In addition, memory foam generally retains more heat than other foam types like poly foam and latex.
Max. Temp.

Ending Temp.

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
Lastly, the deeper sinkage means there is more material wrapping up and around the body, which further limits breathability.
Notably, the mattress is equipped with cooling fibers and cooling phase change materials. I expect these are having some type of a positive impact, but it doesn’t appear to be enough to outweigh the heat-retentive qualities from the all-foam design.
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 92.0° F. This is 2.0° warmer than the average of 90.0° F, based on all of our tests to date.
After getting off the mattress, the temperature declined by 4.8 degrees from minutes 0 to 1, which is 0.0 degrees cooler than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.8 degrees.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is good.
Sinkage Test
The DreamCloud Luxe has deep sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.34″. This is 0.13″ more sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.21″, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
2.34″
Sinkage Feel
Deep
Body Contour
Dramatic
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The mattress creates a dramatic body contouring hug. Fundamentally, this is a memory foam mattress and that memory foam forms to the exact and unique shape of your body.
There is lots of hug and body contouring on this mattress and it has a very classic memory foam feel.
This is neither good nor bad, but it is a specific feel. You’ll absolutely need to love the feel of memory foam to be comfortable on this mattress.
Motion Transfer Test
The DreamCloud Luxe has a very low level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 6.83 m/s². This is 22% less motion transfer than the average of 8.78 m/s².
Accel. Range
6.83 m/s²
Motion Duration
0.45 seconds
This mattress benefits greatly from the all foam design and thick 3.0” memory foam layer.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
Memory foam in particular does an amazing job at absorbing energy, reducing bounce, and dispersing motion.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.25 seconds. Immediately thereafter, motion declines significantly.
Motion Transfer Over Time

By 0.45 seconds, we’ve returned to near-zero levels of energy, which is 0.43 seconds shorter than the average motion duration of 0.88 seconds. Both the motion duration and motion intensity are well below average.
Response Test
The DreamCloud Luxe has a very fast material response. In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.3 seconds, which is 0.10 seconds faster than the average of 0.40 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
Mostly Recovered
0.3 sec.
Fully Recovered
0.6 sec.
In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.6 seconds, which is 0.40 seconds faster than the average of 1.00 seconds. While these responsiveness speeds aren’t quite instant, they are still notably faster than average.
Typically, all foam mattresses, especially those that contain thick memory foam layers, struggle more with material recovery. However, that isn’t what we measured with the DreamCloud Luxe.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
Despite its memory foam design, the mattress layers are able to recover back to shape quickly, which prevents a type of stuck feeling and makes overall ease of movement better on the mattress.
Bounce Test
The DreamCloud Luxe has a very low level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 4.64″. This is 4.26″ less bounce than the average of 8.90″, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
4.64″
Max. Rebound
0.00″
Total Bounce
4.64″
The same design factors that create low motion transfer are also responsible for the lower level of bounce. The all-foam design and 3.0” memory foam layer disperse a ton of energy and don’t rebound much energy.
This combination means the mattress just doesn’t create much bounce. That lower bounce is a major reason that motion transfer is well below average.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max. Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
Even so, a low bounce also means that sex performance is negatively impacted. As such, low bounce is a double-edged sword. Lower bounce is great for low motion, but amorous activities may suffer.
Edge Support Test
The DreamCloud Luxe has excellent sitting edge support and good lying edge support.
Max. Sinkage
3.75″
Lying Support
Good
Reinforced Edge
No
In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 3.75″. This is 0.20″ less sitting sinkage than the average of 3.95″, based on all of our tests to date.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

While lying directly on the edge of the mattress, I felt that the support was good in all sleeping positions, even so, it’s clear it doesn’t rise to the excellent or outstanding level.
The thick memory foam comfort layer, dramatic body contour, and deeper sinkage create a weakening of support along the edge.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

While the extra hug and contour from the memory foam creates amazing feel and pressure relief in the middle of the mattress, along the edge it weakens the supportive feel. In addition, we don’t have any reinforced edge support layers on this mattress. Overall, the edge performance is excellent for sitting edge support, but could have been for lying edge support.
Sex Test
The DreamCloud Luxe has mediocre sex performance. Let’s start with where DreamCloud Luxe does well. Noise is minimal and pressure relief is outstanding. In addition, edge support is excellent with 3.75” of sitting edge sinkage.

The more robust sitting edge sinkage means that the edge is a functional and usable part of the mattress for amorous activities. Moving on with middling performance, we have cooling, which earned a good score. Mind you, it’s not perfect cooling, but it’s good enough for the dance without pants.
Last but not least, we have bounce, which we measured at 4.64”. There is just no sugar coating it, this is a very low level of bounce and the lack of bounce is a tremendous detriment to the overall sex performance on the mattress.
While the mattress is quiet, comfortable, and supportive, the lack of bounce means that sex performance is more strenuous, more tiring, and less engaging.
| Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bounce | 65% | 5.4 | Very Low |
| Edge Support | 20% | 9.1 | Excellent |
| Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
| Pressure Relief | 5% | 10 | Outstanding |
| Cooling | 5% | 8.0 | Good |
The limited sex performance on the DreamCloud Luxe isn’t really an issue with DreamCloud specifically, but rather most all foam memory foam mattresses. Memory foam, by design, reduces bounce in order to limit motion transfer.
If you want the benefits of memory foam, which include lower motion transfer, outstanding pressure relief, and a dramatic body contouring hug, one of the performance criteria you’ll have to give up is ideal sex performance.
Pressure Relief Test
The DreamCloud Luxe has an outstanding level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no notable pressure points on my body. Quite the opposite in fact, this mattress is exceedingly comfortable and I felt significant pressure relief lying in the same position for extended periods of time.
Comfort Layer
7″
Support Layer
7.5″
The mattress is equipped with 7.0″ of comfort material, which is 2.74″ more comfort material than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.26″, based on all of our tests to date.
The quality of the material looks and feels great, both on the body and in hand.

Certainly, the thicker-than-average comfort layer and thicker-than-average total profile, in combination with the high-quality foams, are all contributing to the above-average pressure relief dynamic.
In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 0.52. Ideally, I want to see PSI at 1.0 or below and DreamCloud easily cleared that benchmark.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Side Sleepers | 0.10 | 0.48 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Back Sleepers | 0.06 | 0.52 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Stomach Sleepers | 0.08 | 0.48 |
When I consider our objective pressure mapping tests, material thickness, material quality, and my subjective experience on the mattress, I’m confident most sleepers will find the pressure relief to be outstanding.
Off-Gassing Test
The DreamCloud Luxe had a strong smell upon the initial unboxing. The mattress smelled for 5 days. This is 1.9 days shorter than the average smell duration of 6.9 days.

Company
Dreamcloud mattresses come with a 365-night trial period and a lifetime warranty. Shipping and returns are both free.
| Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Returns | 40% | 10 | $0 |
| Trial Period | 30% | 10 | 365 nights |
| Warranty | 20% | 10 | Lifetime |
| Shipping | 10% | 10 | $0 |
| Country of Origin | 0% | USA |
Comparing 101+ brands tested to date, the average trial period is 172 nights, 193 nights less than Dreamcloud offers.

The DreamCloud Luxe is also backed by a lifetime warranty. To date, 39% of mattresses we’ve tested have lifetime warranties and the average of the other 61% of mattresses is 13 years.
How firm is DreamCloud Luxe?
The DreamCloud Luxe comes in a single firmness, 6 out of 10, which gives the mattress a medium-firm feel.

This firmness is generally well-suited for a wide variety of sleeper preferences. It is firm enough to provide support, but also soft enough for good pressure relief.
Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the DreamCloud Luxe is excellent. During our tests, I felt well supported in all sleeping positions. The mattress is equipped with a 7.5″ support layer. This is 0.4″ thinner than the average support layer thickness of 7.9″, based on all of our tests to date.
| Support Factor | Data |
|---|---|
| Comfort Layer | 7.0″ |
| Support Layer | 7.5″ |
| Firmness | Medium-Firm |
| Body Contour | Dramatic |
| Zoned Support | Yes |
| Reinforced Edge | No |
This mattress is available in a single firmness, which we rated at a medium-firm feel, 6 out of 10 on our firmness scale. The medium-firm feel is ideal for most body types and sleeping positions.
According to DreamCloud, the mattress uses a zoned foam layer within the core of the mattress. However, the mattress we tested was not equipped with this zonal layer. When zoned support is present, it can help reduce sagging in the middle of the mattress and provide additional lumbar support.

The biggest factor to consider with respect to support is the all-foam memory foam design. Memory foam isn’t ideal for all sleepers, and this is fundamentally a memory foam mattress. It has a dramatic and exacting body contouring hug, slower material recovery, and lower bounce.
Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
| Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleeper | Side Sleeper | Back Sleeper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Those who love the feel of memory foam will love this mattress and those who don’t will not. The memory foam feel can be more polarizing for some sleepers.
Based on all of my tests to date, an analysis of the materials, and my subjective experiences, I’m confident most sleepers will find support on the DreamCloud Luxe is excellent.
Design
The DreamCloud Luxe is a 14.5″ memory foam mattress that comes in a single firmness option—Medium-Firm.

| Type | Memory Foam |
| Thickness | 14.5″ |
| Cover Type | Quilted |

This mattress is offered as an all-foam mattress (this mattress we tested here) and also a hybrid—the DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid. You can read the full review here.

The overall performance score of both of these mattresses is incredibly close. Opting for the hybrid version does provide the advantage of less sinkage and better cooling performance.

The Cover
The DreamCloud Luxe has a 2.0″ quilted cover that is plush and has a scalloped stitching pattern, with an offset border, that gives the mattress surface a more luxurious feel.

Additionally, there are handles sewn into the sides of the mattress, which makes it easier to move or rotate the mattress.
The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer is 7.0″ thick, including the quilted cover. Beneath the cover, there is a 2.0″ memory foam layer (white foam) followed by a 1.5″ transitional poly foam layer (blue foam).

These layers are all working together to provide comfort and pressure relief.
I’ll also add here that DreamCloud’s website says the transitional poly foam is tri-zoned, with a different support dynamic at different points on the mattress. That said, there is no visual indication of these zones for the specific mattress we tested.
The Support Layer
The support layer is 7.5″ thick and made of a single layer of support foam (green foam). This gives the mattress a simple, yet proven, design for comfort and support.

Product Evolution
DreamCloud launched from the same makers of the Nectar mattress, with Nectar launching in 2017 and DreamCloud following shortly after in 2018.
DreamCloud offers a collection that includes hybrid mattresses as well as memory foam mattresses.
In 2025, Dreamcloud completely redesigned its mattress and brought manufacturing back to the US (as they were recently acquired by Ashley Sleep).
The DreamCloud Luxe is a new model for DreamCloud, but it is not the first memory foam mattress to hit their collection.
Other memory foam mattresses from DreamCloud include the DreamCloud Classic, Premier, and Ultra.
DreamCloud Classic

DreamCloud Premier

We have tested the DreamCloud Classic, and it earned an overall performance score of 8.06.
We also tested the DreamCloud Premier, with an overall performance score of 8.33.
Considering these two mattresses as well as the performance of the DreamCloud Luxe, the Luxe has the highest performance among all three.

For Performance

Amerisleep AS3
Medium Firmness (5/10)
The Amerisleep AS3 mattress is a 12″ memory foam mattress available in 1 firmness level—medium. It has better performance than the DreamCloud Luxe and a slightly lower price tag as well. With a classic memory foam feel, the AS3 is a great value pick.
For Less Sinkage

Novosbed
Available in 3 Firmness Levels
The Novosbed mattress is an 11″ memory foam mattress available in 3 firmness levels—soft, medium-firm, and firm. It has minimal sinkage and low levels of bounce. For back and stomach sleepers, the Novosbed could be the better option, as less sinkage helps promote spinal alignment in these positions.
For Savings

DreamCloud Premier
$500 Less than the Luxe
The DreamCloud Premier mattress is a 13.5″ memory foam mattress available in 1 firmness level—medium-firm. This mattress has slightly less sinkage and low bounce, but also offers $500 in savings.
