Our Verdict
This trio of mattresses from Octave represents three top-performing Canadian foam mattresses on the market. They include a range of price points (C$899-1499 for a Queen) and also a range of performance levels.
In our tests, the Octave Mirage was the best performer and was priced as the mid-tier option. This makes the Mirage our top pick for best value with a balanced feel and excellent support.
The Octave Vista is the lowest tier, at C$899, and it is also their thinnest mattress (only 12″ thick). If you’re a lighter weight sleeper and don’t have significant pressure relief needs, the Vista is a solid option and a great way to save some cash.
The Octave Horizon is the top-tier Octave at 14″ thick and with a C$1,499 price tag, but it did have slightly lower performance than the Mirage in our tests. Still, if you want that high-profile look and or a softer feel, the Horizon is the right choice. This mattress would be great for side sleepers looking for exceptional pressure relief.

Sinkage preference is subjective, as different sleepers have different preferences in this area. If you want less contour and more of a floating feel, the Octave Vista is the best option as it only has 1.64″ of sinkage. This would likely be a better pick for back or stomach sleepers only.
Side sleepers tend to benefit from deeper sinkage, which allows for deeper contour. In these cases, the Octave Horizon would be the best option since it has 2.04″ of sinkage, offering a moderate level of contour.
That being said, all three Octave mattresses have less sinkage and contour than average. If you’re really looking for a deeper level of contour and hug, you may want to consider a different brand entirely.
The GhostBed Luxe or Logan and Cove Choice mattresses are two great options for Canadian mattresses that offer deeper sinkage and more contour.

Neither of these values is anywhere close to the highest amount of motion transfer we’ve seen. If you’re highly sensitive to movement, this could be an issue, but for many sleepers, this would still be within a reasonable range.
