What Are Common Avocado Mattress Complaints?

Derek Hales

Published

In our review of Avocado mattress complaints listed on the Better Business Bureau, the company had 121 complaints in the last 3 years.

This is a bit more complaints than we typically see within the same 3-year period from other brands. However, the increased number of complaints could be the result of Avocado’s relative popularity compared to other brands.

Here is a breakdown of the type of common complaints we saw.

  • 72% of complaints involved problems with the product.
  • 24% of complaints involved delivery issues.
  • 4% of complaints involved advertising or sales issues.
  • 4% of complaints involved warranty issues.

How were the complaints addressed?

Every complaint that was listed was personally responded to by a representative from Avocado.

That being said, even with a personal response, many of the complaints, although answered, were not answered in a satisfactory way and the customer remained upset.

Other Common Complaints from Around the Internet

Multiple Avocado complaints include issues like poor pressure relief, premature sagging of newer mattresses, and complaints of the mattress being too firm for side sleepers or lightweight sleepers.

Reddit

Avocado offers a green / vegan mattress alternative to more traditional options, but the price is a notable “con” as well as complaints about the mattress sagging and creating lower back pain.

Consumer Affairs

From 39 sourced reviews, 12% were 5-star, 3% were 3-star, 5% were 2 star, and 79% of reviews were 1-star. This gives Avocado an average rating of only 2.1 (out of 5).
