Our Verdict
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate mattress is a 13″ adjustable mattress made of memory foam, poly foam, and an adjustable air bladder for support. It pairs up with a wireless remote control or via a smartphone app for easy adjustment to the mattress firmness.
In total, there are six firmness levels ranging from soft to firm. The firmness scale in the app goes from 5 to 50.
We tested the mattress at a firmness level of 30. At this level, the mattress has deep sinkage and low levels of bounce. The extra foam layers atop the air bag (1″ thicker than what we saw on the Personal Comfort Rego), really gives the mattress more contour and a plusher feel.
In our performance tests, this mattress earned an overall score of 9.04, ranking the mattress in the top 17% of all mattresses tested to date.
Of course, you’re paying a premium for this higher performance and the adjustable design. The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate is $3,700 for a queen-sized mattress, which is 39% higher than the average adjustable mattress. When we expand our comparison to include all mattress types tested, the Rejuvenate is 2.6X more than the average mattress cost ($1,390).

How is Personal Comfort Rejuvenate Different?
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate is a 13″ adjustable mattress with a notably better than average performance level, but also a higher price tag, nearly 40% more than the average adjustable mattress we’ve tested to date.
Advantages
The Rejuvenate has an adjustable firmness that covers a range of feels—from soft to firm. It uses a wireless remote control or a smartphone app to make adjustments at the touch of a button. You can adjust each side independently or the mattress firmness as a whole. For most sleepers, this will be the biggest advantage of this mattress.
In addition, the Rejuvenate also has better cooling than average, lower levels of motion transfer, and a faster material response time.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has deep sinkage and low levels of bounce. These are considered “feel factors” more than anything else as different sleepers may have different preferences in this area.

Disadvantages
Disadvantages include weaker edge support, especially when lying down, as well as slower off-gassing. On average, the average off-gassing duration is 7 days, but the Rejuvenate took 8 days to complete the process.
The price could also be a prohibitive disadvantage for sleepers on a budget. Priced at $3,700 for a queen, the Rejuvenate is nearly 40% more than the average adjustable mattress.
And when we consider the average price among all mattresses tested ($1,390/queen) that price difference jumps up to over 2.6X more than the average. This costs sleepers an extra $2,309, which is no small number.
Cooling Test
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
74.8° F
Max. Temp.
90.2° F
Ending Temp.
79.5° F
The mattress breathed well and remained comfortable and cool. The mattress is equipped with a phase change cooling cover. The cover has a notably cool feel initially, but within a few minutes that cooling sensation goes away and it reaches an equilibrium temperature with the body.
Max. Temp.

Ending Temp.

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
Even so, it’s nice when you first get into bed and when you change sleeping positions. Beyond the cooling cover, the mattress uses high performance and high quality foams that do a good job resisting heat retention.
Lastly, utilizing an adjustable air chamber as opposed to a support foam further helps with cooling, as it’s simply less material that heat can be easily retained within.
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 90.2° F. This is 0.4° more than the average of 89.8° F, based on all of our tests to date.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is excellent.
Sinkage Test
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate has deep sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.37″. This is 0.21″ more sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.16″, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
2.37″
Sinkage Feel
Deep
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The mattress creates a dramatic body contouring hug and has a modern memory foam feel. The modern memory foam feel means there is a high degree of hug, sinkage, and contour, however, the mattress is also highly responsive.
As a result, you don’t feel overly trapped or stuck in the foams. The foams quickly change shape so you can move around with ease. In addition, the thin cover helps sleepers feel more directly engaged with foams.
This comfort dynamic creates an exacting hug around the unique shape of your body. This is neither good nor bad, but it is a more specific feel that you’ll want to make sure you’re comfortable with in order to be happy on the Rejuvenate mattress.
Motion Transfer Test
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate has a very low level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 6.23 m/s². This is 29% less motion transfer than the average of 8.75 m/s².
Max. Acceleration
2.58 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-3.65 m/s²
Accel. Range
6.23 m/s²
The Rejuvenate mattress has a number of design choices and materials that are helping to reduce motion.
First and foremost, the mattress is topped with 3.0” of memory foam. That memory foam is doing most of the heavy lifting, reducing bounce and dispersing motion. In addition, we have 5.0” of total foam comfort layers.
That’s a ton of material between sleeper movements and the support layers, which are more likely to create motion. This combination of materials creates a low level of bounce. The lower bounce also helps to keep motion transfer in check.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.14 seconds. Motion drops off dramatically immediately thereafter and by 0.58 seconds we’ve returned to near-zero levels of energy. Both the motion intensity and motion duration are below average.

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the level of motion transfer and don’t expect it will be an issue for most sleepers.
Response Test
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate has an extremely fast mostly recovered response time and a very fast fully recovered response time.
Mostly Recovered
0.2 sec.
Fully Recovered
0.4 sec.
In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.2 seconds, which is 0.23 seconds faster than the average of 0.43 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.4 seconds, which is 0.57 seconds faster than the average of 0.97 seconds.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
At this responsiveness, the Personal Comfort is nearly tied for 1st with the fastest responsiveness mattresses we’ve tested to date. It only misses that mark by 0.1 seconds on the full material recovery.
In any case, it’s fair to say the Rejuvenate has more than fast enough responsiveness. These material recovery speeds ensure sleepers will never feel stuck in the mattress layers and the mattress is easy to move around.
Bounce Test
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate has a low level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 7.55″. This is 1.71″ less bounce than the average of 9.26″, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
5.19″
Max. Rebound
2.36″
Total Bounce
7.55″
The lower bounce is a significant factor in helping to keep motion transfer lower on the mattress. However, the lower bounce is undoubtedly a negative for sex performance, which is the weakest performance area on the Rejuvenate mattress.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max. Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
In some cases, a lower bounce can also make it more difficult to move around on the mattress. However, considering sinkage depth and highly responsive materials, I don’t believe ease of movement will be a problem for most sleepers.
Edge Support Test
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate has excellent sitting edge support and fair lying edge support.
Max. Sinkage
3.50″
Lying Support
Fair
In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 3.50″. This is 0.54″ less sitting sinkage than the average of 4.04″, based on all of our tests to date.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

Even with my full weight sitting on the direct edge, the Rejuvenate mattress did a fantastic job at maintaining robust edge support. While sitting edge support was excellent, lying edge support left something to be desired.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

While lying directly on the edge of the mattress, I felt that the support was fair in all sleeping positions. The Rejuvenate has a thicker than average comfort layer of foams that are all fairly soft.
Even when you’re at higher firmness levels, those foams just don’t hold their shape very well at the edge of the mattress. As a result, we get lots of edge sinkage in the comfort layers, which creates a weakening of the edge support feel.

The mattress is equipped with a layer of support foam that runs along the perimeter of the mattress. The perimeter edge foam is 3.5” wide and 6.0” tall, though it sits on a foundational foam layer that’s 2.0”, so effectively it’s 8.0” of total foam height.
This foam helps to contain the adjustable air bladder and also provides a measure of improved support for sitting and lying near the edge. Even so, this edge foam isn’t a miracle worker and lying edge support just isn’t amazing.
Sex Test
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate has fair sex performance. On the positive side, the mattress is comfortable with outstanding pressure relief and excellent cooling. Edge support is also excellent, with just 3.50” of sitting edge sinkage.

The more robust sitting edge helps extend the sexable surface area of the mattress. All that said, there are two notable negatives.
First, the noise is high on the mattress. The adjustable air bladder creates a significant volume of noise during amorous activities.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 7.2 | Moderate |
Edge Support | 20% | 9.4 | Excellent |
Noise | 5% | 6.0 | High |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 10 | Outstanding |
Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
The air bladder creates a sort of “wheezing” sound. If you live in a home where it’s essential to have a more stealthy dance without pants, this could be a problem. The second major issue for sex is bounce.
At just 7.55” of total bounce the Personal Comfort mattress has notably less bounce than average. That lower bounce makes it more difficult and strenuous to have sex on. All factors considered, sex performance leaves much to be desired.
Pressure Relief Test
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate has an outstanding level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt zero pressure points on my body. The mattress is exceedingly comfortable, using 3.0” of memory foam on top.
Comfort Layer
5.0″
Support Layer
8.0″
That memory foam layer does an amazing job at cradling and contouring the body. When you couple that layer with an additional 2.0” poly foam and adjustable air bladder, it’s able to deliver a comfortable pressure relief with the precise level of pushback, firmness, and support that your body needs.

These material and design choices combine to create amazing pressure relief. The mattress is equipped with 5.0″ of comfort material, which is 0.86″ more comfort material than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.14″, based on all of our tests to date.
Each of the individual foam layers, in addition to the adjustable air bladder, all look and feel high quality both on the body and in hand. Higher quality materials naturally perform better, but they are also likely to last longer.
In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 0.85. A 2.0 PSI is a high pressure point and the Rejuvenate came nowhere near that concerning level.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Side Sleepers | 0.14 | 0.85 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Back Sleepers | 0.08 | 0.54 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Stomach Sleepers | 0.10 | 0.85 |
When I consider our objective pressure mapping tests, material thickness, material quality, and my subjective experience on the mattress, I’m confident most sleepers will find the pressure relief to be outstanding.
Off-Gassing Test
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate had a strong smell upon the initial unboxing. The mattress smelled for 8 days.
Initial Smell Strength
Strong
Off-Gassing Period
8 days

This is 1.5 days more than the average of 6.5 days. The mattress has a typical memory foam type of a smell.
Company
Personal Comfort mattresses come with a 120-night trial period and a 20-year warranty. Shipping and returns are both free.
Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
---|---|---|---|
Trial Period | 15% | 8.0 | 120 nights |
Warranty | 10% | 8.0 | 20 years |
Shipping | 5% | 10 | $0 |
Returns | 20% | 10 | $0 |
Trust | 50% | 8.0 | Good |
Country of Origin | 0% | USA |
Comparing 98+ brands tested to date, the average trial period is 178 nights, so 58 nights more than Personal Comfort offers.

The 20-year warranty offered by Personal Comfort is 7 years longer than the average warranty (13 years). But 29% of mattresses have lifetime warranties so Personal Comfort is certainly not the longest we’ve seen either.
How firm is Personal Comfort Rejuvenate?
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate is an adjustable mattress, spanning in firmness from 4 out of 10 to 8 out of 10. This gives the mattress a soft, medium, medium-firm, slightly firm, or firm feel.

The table below documents which firmness rating (controlled by remote) is associated with which firmness.
Firmness Rating | Mattress Feel | Our Assessment (Firmness) |
---|---|---|
5 | Soft | 4 |
10 | Soft | 4.5 |
20 | Medium | 5 |
30 | Medium-Firm | 6 |
40 | Slightly Firm | 7 |
50 | Firm | 8 |
I will note, at its softest, a firmness rating of 4, it really feels like the mattress loses support. There is a ton of sinkage, which does create a softer feel, but at the expense of support.
It’s hard to imagine that any sleepers over 150 pounds finding this firmness rating to be supportive enough.
Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the Personal Comfort Rejuvenate is outstanding. During our tests, I felt fully supported in all sleeping positions. The mattress is equipped with an 8.0″ support layer.
This is 0.12″ thicker than the average support layer thickness of 7.88″, based on all of our tests to date.

There are two critical components to mattress support. The first is comfort. If you cannot lie comfortably in the same position, then it doesn’t matter how great the support is. So comfort is critically important.
To that end, the Rejuvenate did incredible, earning an outstanding pressure relief score due to its 5.0” comfort layer and high performance foams. The second critical factor is support, specifically, support that’s able to create a neutral spinal alignment.
When spines are in alignment while lying down, you’ll experience less pain, less pressure, and more relief for your body. Having an adjustable air bladder is ideal to create proper support, as it allows each sleeper to find the precise level of firmness, pushback, and sinkage that can deliver the correct support dynamic.

Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleeper | Side Sleeper | Back Sleeper |
---|---|---|---|
Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
When we look at the complete picture of comfort via amazing pressure relief and a thick comfort layer, alongside outstanding support from the adjustable air bladder and 2.0” foundational foam, it’s easy to see why the Rejuvenate creates such fantastic support.
Based on all of my tests to date, an analysis of the materials, and my subjective experiences, I’m confident most sleepers will find support on the Personal Comfort Rejuvenate is outstanding.
Design
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate is a 13″ adjustable mattress that comes in six firmness options—5, 10, 20, 30, 40, or 50. These different numbers generate a range of feels including Soft, Medium, Medium-Firm, Slightly Firm, and Firm.
Type
Adjustable
Thickness
13″
Firmness

The adjustable design of this mattress allows a wide range of sleepers to find this mattress comfortable.

How Does It Work?
The firmness is changed by the touch of a button on a wireless remote control or by using their free app. Simply press the up arrow or down arrow to adjust the firmness.

You can also have presets for each side of the mattress, as indicated by the “1” and “2” within the heart icons. These presets can be a great option for couples with consistent sleeping preferences.

Once you press a button on the remote, a signal is sent to an air controller on the floor. This black box then sends air through two tubes, leading into the body of the mattress. The adjustment of air into the mattress core creates that firmer or softer feel.

The Cover
The Personal Comfort Rejuvenate has a thin cover. It is breathable and stretchy, allowing for good cooling and limited heat retention.

Product Evolution
Personal Comfort has been around since 2012, with a long-standing history of adjustable mattress manufacturing.
In 2020, the brand announced the launch of the smart bed series, starting with the Rejuvenation collection. This collection included the following smart beds—the Rego, the Rejuvenate (this review), and the Legacy.

Since its release in 2020 and present-day, we haven’t seen any notable changes to design or materials.
That said, the Legacy models are in the process of being discontinued.
Other Mattresses to Consider

For Savings

Personal Comfort Rego
The Personal Comfort Rego is a step down from the Rejuvenate, but still within the Smart Bed collection from Personal Comfort. This mattress is 11″ thick and has a thinner comfort layer. Overall, performance is lower, but so is the price tag—$1,000 of savings compared to the Rejuvenation, while still being an adjustable mattress.
For Performance

Saatva Solaire
The Saatva Solaire mattress is a 13″ adjustable mattress with a firmness ranging from soft to firm, like the Rejuvenate. It has higher performance than the Rejuvenate, but also a price tag that is $400 more. But for the best adjustable mattress we’ve tested, it’s money well spent.
For Value

iSense Premier Hybrid
The iSense Premier Hybrid mattress is a 13.5″ adjustable mattress available that ranges from soft to slightly firm. If you’re looking for an adjustable mattress at a lower price point, the iSense could be an option. Priced under $3K, this mattress still has great overall performance and a soft to slightly firm feel.
