Our Verdict
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion is a 12″ latex hybrid mattress that has an organic cotton cover, Talalay latex comfort layer, and pocketed coil support layer.
It has moderate sinkage and moderate levels of bounce for a balanced feel. Many latex mattresses have higher levels of bounce, but if you want natural materials with a more reasonable bounce, the Luxerion could be a good option.
This mattress is available in a single firmness, 6 out of 10, with a medium-firm feel.
In our performance tests, the Luxerion had a better overall performance than the average mattress, ranking in the top 30% of all mattresses tested to date.
Regarding price, a queen Luxerion is $979, 38% less than the average latex hybrid mattress for a savings of over $600 on a queen mattress. Among all latex hybrid mattresses tested to date, this mattress ranks in the top 50%. Within the top 50%, there was no other latex hybrid that was priced below $1K with better performance.
The Luxerion Hybrid is an incredibly good value, especially considering it’s a latex hybrid.

How is the Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion Hybrid Different?
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion Hybrid has an overall performance level that is higher than average and a price tag that is below average—38% less than the average latex hybrid mattress for a savings of over $600 on a queen mattress.
Advantages
Besides the price alone, other advantages of the Luxerion include better cooling performance, faster material response time, better edge support, and better sex performance as well.
This mattress has a thicker 4.5″ comfort layer (0.5″ thicker than average), which gives the mattress better pressure relief compared to average.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has moderate levels of sinkage and moderate levels of bounce, giving the mattress a balanced feel.
Disadvantages
Disadvantages of the Luxerion Hybrid include slightly higher levels of motion transfer compared to average and a $99 return fee.

Cooling Test
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion Hybrid has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
79.1° F
Max Temp.
89.8° F
Ending Temp.
82.0° F
The mattress is a proven latex hybrid design that resists heat retention and breathes well. The comfort layer is a single 3.0” natural latex layer and the cover is 1.5” of quilted cotton. Both of these materials naturally resist heat.
The support layer for the mattress is a 6.5” pocketed coil unit with a 1.0” support foam base. The coil unit helps to bring plenty of airflow into the mattress.
Max Temp.

Ending Temp

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 89.8° F, which is 0.1° warmer than the average of 89.7°, based on all of our tests to date.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the complete picture of objective data, subjective experience, and material analysis, I’m confident most sleepers will find the cooling performance to be more than sufficient.
Sinkage Test
The Luxerion Hybrid has a moderate level of sinkage. During our tests, we measured 2.08” of pressure point sinkage. This is 0.06” less sinkage than the average of 2.14”, based on all of our tests.
Sinkage Depth
2.08″
Sinkage Feel
Moderate
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The mattress creates a more generalized body-contouring hug. This is in contrast to many memory and poly foam mattresses that create a more exacting and dramatic hug around the body.
Despite the more generalized contour around the body and moderate sinkage, the mattress still creates a balanced feel and good pressure relief. Some latex hybrids tend to float the body more “on” the mattress as opposed to letting the body sink “in” the mattress.
The Luxerion creates enough sinkage that your body still feels like it’s lying “in” the mattress instead of “on” the mattress.
Motion Transfer Test
The Luxerion Hybrid has a low level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 9.36 m/s². This is 6% more motion transfer than the average of 8.79 m/s², based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Acceleration
4.83 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-4.53 m/s²
Accel. Range
9.36 m/s²
Typically, latex hybrids really struggle with motion, as both latex and coil units individually create higher motion. However, the mattress did a great job of resisting motion.
In my view, the 1.0” quilted cotton cover, quilted pattern design (long horizontal bars across the mattress), and foundational support foam on the base are all helping to keep motion in check.
The quilted cover and quilted pattern better disperse motion across a wider surface area, while the support foam on the base provides a more stable foundation.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.22 seconds. We see a smaller secondary spike from 0.50 to 0.80 seconds and by 1.15 seconds we’ve returned to near zero levels of energy.
Suffice to say, the motion duration is far from ideal at 1.15 seconds. While it is a fairly low level of motion after the initial spike, it’s still something.

Mattresses with the lowest motion transfer are able to return to near zero levels within 0.3 seconds. Needless to say, the Luxerion is far from that mark. While the mattress keeps motion to more reasonable levels, the latex hybrid design still means motion is far from perfect.
Response Test
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion Hybrid has an extremely fast material response time. During our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.2 seconds.
Mostly Recovered
0.2 sec.
Complete Recovery
0.3 sec.
This is 0.2 seconds faster than the average of 0.4 seconds, based on all of our tests to date. During our fully recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.3 seconds, which is 0.6 seconds faster than the average of 0.9 seconds.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
At these responsiveness speeds the material recovery rate is effectively instant. The Luxerion is tied for first with a number of other mattresses as the fastest responsiveness mattress we’ve tested to date.
The rapid response ensures you’ll never feel stuck on the mattress and it’s easy to move around on.
Bounce Test
The Luxerion Hybrid has a moderate level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 9.96”. This is 0.36” more bounce than the average of 9.60”, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
5.16″
Max. Rebound
4.80″
Total Bounce
9.96″
The higher-than-average bounce level can be attributed to the material construction.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max Bounce Height

Both latex and pocketed coils individually create more bounce, so we can expect them both to create plenty of bounce together. Even so, this is not a crazy high or unreasonable level of bounce.
The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
Ideally, I like to see 8-12” of total bounce height, and the Luxerion Hybrid is right in the middle of my preferred range.
At 9.96” of bounce we have enough to facilitate sex performance and ease of movement, while not being so high as to create a trampoline feel or excess motion transfer. I expect most sleepers will find this level of bounce to be perfectly sufficient.
Edge Support Test
The Luxerion Hybrid has excellent edge support for both sitting and lying. In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 3.75”.
Max Sinkage
3.75″
Lying Support
Excellent
This is 0.27” less sitting compression than the average of 4.02”, based on all of our tests to date. Even while sitting directly on the edge I felt well supported and there was no collapse of materials.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

Lying edge support is equally impressive. While lying directly on the edge of the mattress I felt well supported in all sleeping positions. The Luxerion Hybrid uses two rows of reinforced perimeter edge support coils.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

These coils, in combination with the high-quality latex, pocketed coil unit, and support base foam, are all helping to deliver robust edge support. Overall, I’m pleased with the level of edge support and I expect most will find it satisfactory.
Sex Test
The Luxerion Hybrid has good sex performance, though it doesn’t quite rise to the “excellent” or “outstanding” level.
When we look at the critical factors that help create great amorous activity on a mattress everything on the Luxerion Hybrid earned good, excellent, or outstanding scores.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 8.7 | High |
Edge Support | 20% | 9.1 | Excellent |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Noise is outstanding, as there is virtually no noise created by the mattress. Edge support, cooling, and pressure relief all earned excellent scores. With just 3.75” of sitting edge compression the mattress is still able to maintain a robust edge for the dance without pants.

Last and most importantly we have bounce, which earned a good score due to 9.96” of total bounce height. These factors combined give the Luxerion Hybrid a solid score that just narrowly missed out on earning the “excellent” tier of sex performance.
Pressure Relief Test
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion Hybrid has excellent pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no significant level of pressure points on my body.
Comfort Layer
4.5″
Support Layer
7.5″
The mattress is equipped with a 3.0” natural Talalay latex comfort layer. In addition, the mattress is topped with a 1.5” quilted organic cotton cover.
This gives the mattress a total 4.5” comfort layer, which is just a bit over the average 4.1” average comfort thickness, based on all of our tests.
I am exceedingly impressed with the quality of the latex.
To see a 3” latex comfort layer at under $1,000 for a Queen is incredibly rare, but to see this level of build quality and material quality as well is practically unheard of.

In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 1.45. This pressure was only felt on my side and only in the hips. The pressure maps on the stomach and back where notably lower. When it comes to pressure points, lower is better.
A PSI of 2.0 is considered a high pressure point, and we are no where near those levels.
When we consider the complete picture of material quality, build quality, comfort layer thickness, and my subjective experience, I am confident most sleepers will find pressure relief to be excellent.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Side Sleepers | 0.21 | 1.45 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Back Sleepers | 0.11 | 0.87 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Stomach Sleepers | 0.11 | 0.79 |
Off-Gassing Test
There was no off-gassing on the Luxerion Hybrid. The LMF factory is local here in Arizona, so our mattress arrived bagged, but not compressed in a box, which probably helped with the off-gassing time.
Initial Smell Strength
None
Off-Gassing Period
0 days
Even if the mattress is fully compressed and boxed I would still not expect any major off-gassing from this mattress.

Company
Latex Mattress Factory offers a trial period of only 100 nights and a 10-year warranty. Shipping is free, but if the mattress ends up not working on, returns cost $99.
Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
---|---|---|---|
Trial Period | 15% | 8.0 | 100 nights |
Warranty | 10% | 8.0 | 10 years |
Shipping | 5% | 10 | $0 |
Returns | 20% | 7.0 | $99 |
Trust | 50% | 8.0 | Good |
Country of Origin | 0% | Sri Lanka |
Needless to say, having to pay anything to return a mattress isn’t ideal. Most mattresses we’ve tested don’t charge for returns. That said, perhaps it can be forgiven due to the sub $1K price point.

How firm is the Luxerion Hybrid?
The Luxerion Hybrid mattress is available in a single firmness, 6 out of 10, with a medium-firm feel.

Support & Sleeping Positions
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion has excellent support. During our tests, I felt well supported in all sleeping positions. For a mattress to create proper support it needs to keep the spine in alignment and create sufficient comfort.
With a 4.5” comfort layer this is plenty of material to create proper comfort and pressure relief. As far as support layers go, we have a 6.5” pocketed coil unit that sits atop a 1.0” support foam on the base of the mattress.

This gives us 7.5” of support materials. Based on all of our tests to date, the average support layer is 7.9”. As a result, the Luxerion is a bit south of average.
Even so, given the moderate sinkage, balanced body contouring hug, and medium-firm feel, the mattress still created plenty of support. I expect most sleepers will find support to be perfectly sufficient.
Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.

The Cover
This mattress has an organic cotton cover. It is soft to the touch and has a linear stitching pattern that runs width-wise across the body of the mattress.

The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer sits beneath the mattress cover and contains a 3.0″ slab of hole-lunched Talalay latex.
This latex is certified by Oeko-Tex as well as Eco-Institute, both of which are great qualifications if sustainability and material quality is high on your check list in a new mattress.

The Support Layer
The support layer is a 6.5″ layer of pocketed coils followed by a 1.0″ base support foam. These two materials work together to provide support and pushback to the layers above.

Product Evolution
The Luxerion latex hybrid was originally launched in 2023. Since its release, there have been no major changes made to the mattress.
The hybrid was added to the Latex Mattress Factory lineup as one of the first full-assembled mattresses sold on the website. Originally, LMF catered to DIY mattresses. The company would sell individual components and sleepers would purchase layers separately and build a unique mattress.
