6/5/2025 Update – DreamCloud recently launched a new version of the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid. Our tests below are based on the newest / current version.

Best For
- Low levels of motion transfer, great for couples
- Great cooling performance, especially for having 2.0″ memory foam
- High levels of pressure relief with a balanced feel
Considerations
- Struggling sex score, largely due to the lower bounce
- 21% less bounce than average
- 13.5″ thick, may not be ideal for low-profile aesthetics
Our Verdict
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid mattress is a 13.5″ hybrid mattress made of memory foam, poly foam, and pocketed coils. It has a plush, quilted cover as well.
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is available in a single firmness level — medium-firm.
This mattress has moderate sinkage and low levels of bounce. It has a restrained feel that limits motion transfer, largely thanks to the memory foam top layer.
In our performance tests, this mattress earned an overall score of 8.98, ranking the mattress in the top 23% of all mattresses tested to date.
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is $999 for a queen-sized mattress, which is 34% less than average. If you’re looking for a value hybrid with a medium-firm feel, the Premier Hybrid checks a lot of boxes and is a great option to consider.

How is DreamCloud Premier Hybrid Different?
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is a 13.5″ hybrid mattress with an overall performance level that is better than average and a price tag that is also significantly less than average—44% less than the average hybrid mattress.

Advantages
Beyond the low price, other advantages included better cooling performance, lower levels of motion transfer, fast response time, and better edge support. When sitting at the edge of the mattress, we measured sinkage levels of 3.75″, where 4.00″ is the average. Lying support was excellent as well.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has moderate sinkage and low levels of bounce. The lower bounce slightly restrained movement on the mattress.
Disadvantages
The biggest disadvantage of the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is lower sex performance, which is really just due to the nature of having a mattress with a memory foam comfort layer and lower bounce levels.
Cooling Test
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body. The mattress breathed well and did not excessively build heat around the body.
Baseline Temp.
73.5° F
Max. Temp.
90.9° F
Ending Temp.
81.8° F
The Premier Hybrid uses a cooling cover, however, said cooling cover did not create any type of cool-to-the-touch feel. The fabric cover feels like many other cover fabrics we’ve tested.
While the cover didn’t overly impress, the hybrid design is helping to bring airflow into the mattress. In addition, the foams seem to do a nice job allowing air in and out, helping to avoid heat retention.
Max. Temp.

Ending Temp.

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
When we compare the cooling experience on the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid to the base DreamCloud Hybrid, we saw a notable difference, with the max surface temperature being 1.1 degrees cooler on the Premier Hybrid.
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 90.9° F. This is 1.1° warmer than the average of 89.8° F, based on all of our tests to date. After getting off the mattress, the temperature declined by 5.1 degrees from minutes 0 to 1, which is 0.4 degrees cooler than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.7 degrees.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is excellent.
Sinkage Test
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid has moderate sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.24″. This is 0.06″ more sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.18″, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
2.24″
Sinkage Feel
Moderate
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The mattress creates a more dramatic body contouring hug. However, it is notably not quite as dramatic as the hug on the DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid.
The mattress is equipped with a 2.0” memory foam layer. This memory foam is doing much of the heavy lifting when it comes to body contour, hug, and pressure relief.

That said, the poly foam within the euro top cover and core of the mattress balances out this feel quite a bit, helping to avoid any type of excessive hug or stuck feeling on the mattress.
Overall, I found the feel to be comfortable and it’s the type of non-polarizing sinkage, body contour, and feel that many sleepers can enjoy.
Motion Transfer Test
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid has a very low level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 5.71 m/s². This is 34% less motion transfer than the average of 8.65 m/s².
Max. Acceleration
2.25 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-3.46 m/s²
Accel. Range
5.71 m/s²
The thick 2.0” memory foam layer is greatly helping to absorb and disperse energy. This energy dispersion means bounce is also lower than average, which also helps to reduce motion transfer.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.21 seconds.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
Motion drops off notably immediately thereafter and by 0.79 seconds we return to near-zero levels of energy.

Overall, I am pleased with both the motion duration and motion intensity. Motion intensity is well below average and motion duration, while not the lowest we’ve seen, isn’t especially long.
As such, I expect most sleepers will find the Premier Hybrid’s motion transfer to be a non-issue.
Response Test
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid has a very fast material response. In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.3 seconds, which is 0.12 seconds faster than the average of 0.42 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.6 seconds, which is 0.38 seconds faster than the average of 0.98 seconds.
Mostly Recovered
0.3 sec.
Fully Recovered
0.6 sec.
While these responsiveness speeds aren’t the fastest we’ve seen, they are both notably faster than average and will be more than fast enough for most sleepers.
The faster response helps to ensure the mattress is easy to move around on and avoids any type of a “stuck” feeling in the mattress. The poly foam layers within the mattress rebound back to shape effectively instantly.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
The memory takes just slightly longer, but even so, compared to many other types of memory foam (including the memory foam used in the older, now-discontinued 2024 DreamCloud Premier), it is substantially faster.
Overall, I’m pleased with this level of material responsiveness and expect it will be more than sufficient for most sleepers.
Bounce Test
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid has a low level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 7.26″. This is 1.88″ less bounce than the average of 9.14″, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
4.90″
Max. Rebound
2.36″
Total Bounce
7.26″
The low bounce is primarily the result of the 2.0” memory foam layer. Memory foam does a great job at absorbing and dispersing energy, which helps to reduce bounce.
In addition, the mattress is equipped with a 4.5” comfort layer, which is thicker than average.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max. Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
More foam also helps to suppress and reduce bounce. The lower bounce is a major reason why motion transfer is lower. However, that same low bounce also has a negative impact on sex performance.
Edge Support Test
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid has excellent sitting edge support and excellent lying edge support.
Max. Sinkage
3.75″
Lying Support
Excellent
In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 3.75″. This is 0.25″ less sitting sinkage than the average of 4.00″, based on all of our tests to date.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

Edge support while lying was equally impressive. While lying directly on the edge of the mattress, I felt that the support was excellent in all sleeping positions.
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid uses reinforced coils that run along the entire perimeter of the mattress.
These coils, in combination with the thicker-than-average 13.5” total profile height, are helping to create a more robust support at the edge.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

Overall, I’m pleased with the level of edge support and don’t expect it will be an issue for most sleepers.
Sex Test
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid has fair sex performance. On the positive side, noise is minimal and both pressure relief and cooling are excellent.
Edge support also earned an excellent score due to the better-than-average 3.75” of sitting edge sinkage.

A more supportive edge extends the usable surface area of the mattress, which is a boon for amorous activities. All that said, the one major sex weak spot is bounce.
The DreamCloud Premier has just 7.26” of total bounce, which is well below average. When it comes to amorous activities, more bounce is almost always better than less bounce.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 7.0 | Moderate |
Edge Support | 20% | 9.1 | Excellent |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
While sex performance left something to be desired, it’s still notably better than the sex performance we measured on the more expensive Dreamcloud Luxe Hybrid, which had even less bounce than the Premier Hybrid model.
Pressure Relief Test
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid has an excellent level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no significant pressure points on my body. It was comfortable even while lying in the same position for an extended period of time.
Comfort Layer
4.5″
Support Layer
9″
The mattress is equipped with 4.5″ of comfort material, which is 0.35″ more comfort material than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.15″, based on all of our tests to date.
The Premier Hybrid uses a mix of memory foam, poly foam, and a quilted cover. This combination helps to create a comfortable, less-polarizing feel that many different types of sleepers can enjoy.

With respect to foam quality, I was pleased with the 2.0” memory foam. It feels good on the body and in-hand.
The 1.0” poly foam in the core doesn’t feel as high quality by comparison, even so, when we consider the price point and the fact it’s positioned further away from the body, I’m not terribly worried about that foam.

The primary comfort foam is the 2.0” memory foam, which does look and feel notably better.
In our pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 0.56, which is well within the low-pressure threshold we look for (a 2.0 PSI is a high-pressure point and ideally we want to see all PSI measurements less than 1.0).
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Side Sleepers | 0.11 | 0.56 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Back Sleepers | 0.06 | 0.54 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Stomach Sleepers | 0.08 | 0.54 |
When I consider our objective pressure mapping tests, material thickness, material quality, and my subjective experience on the mattress, I’m confident most sleepers will find the pressure relief to be excellent.
Off-Gassing Test
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid had a strong smell upon the initial unboxing. The mattress smelled for 7 days. This is 0.4 days longer than the average smell duration of 6.6 days.

Company
Being a sister brand to Nectar, DreamCloud mimics the terms and conditions of Nectar mattresses. It offers a 365-night trial and a lifetime warranty. Shipping and returns are both free.
Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
---|---|---|---|
Trial Period | 15% | 10 | 365 nights |
Warranty | 10% | 10 | Lifetime |
Shipping | 5% | 10 | $0 |
Returns | 20% | 10 | $0 |
Trust | 50% | 8.0 | Good |
Country of Origin | 0% | USA |
Comparing 100+ brands tested to date, the average trial period is 170 nights, so DreamCloud’s 365-night trial is notably more than the average. DreamCloud also offers a lifetime warranty, an advantage only offered by 39% of all mattresses we test.

How firm is DreamCloud Premier Hybrid?
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid comes in a single firmness, with a medium-firm feel—6 out of 10 on the firmness scale.

This firmness level is suitable for the vast majority of sleepers, all body types (up to 300 pounds), and all sleeping positions.
Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is excellent. During our tests, I felt well supported in all sleeping positions.

The mattress is equipped with a 9.0″ support layer. This is 1.07″ thicker than the average support layer thickness of 7.93″, based on all of our tests to date.
Both the coil unit and support base foam look and feel to be reasonably good quality, especially relative to the price point. Notably, the coil unit is not zoned, meaning it won’t create more support in the middle of the mattress like most other zoned coil units do.
The slightly more expensive DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid does use zonal support (as zoned foam within the core of the mattress), so if that’s important to you then upgrading could be worth it.

Moving on, pressure relief and overall comfort is good, which helps ensure you can lie in the same position comfortably and feel well supported without needing to continually change positions to alleviate pressure points.
Lastly, this mattress has a medium-firm feel, which makes it a good choice for most body types up to 300 pounds and all sleeping positions.
All things considered, this is a solid mattress for the money, creates an even feel, good support, and has better-than-average performance.
Is it a miracle worker or the best mattress on the market? Certainly not. But, given the price point, it is a fantastically good value mattress with a level of support performance that exceeded my expectations.
Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleeper | Side Sleeper | Back Sleeper |
---|---|---|---|
Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Based on all of my tests to date, an analysis of the materials, and my subjective experiences, I’m confident that most sleepers will find support on the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is excellent.

The Cover
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid has a 1.5″ quilted cover. It has a scalloped stitching design with a plush feel. Cooling fibers are stitched into the fabric, and overall, the cover feels breathable and soft.

The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer is made of 2.0″ memory foam (gel infused) and a 1.0″ poly foam (light green). These two layers, plus the 1.5″ quilted cover, provide a total comfort layer thickness of 4.5″.

The Support Layer
The support layer is 9″ thick and made of an 8.0″ pocketed coil support system followed by a 1.0″ high-density support foam. As I mentioned above, these coils are zoned, but given the budget price of this mattress, that’s not too surprising.
You generally don’t see zoned support coils until the $1.5K price point and higher.

Product Evolution
DreamCloud came from the same makers of the Nectar mattress, with Nectar launching in 2017 and DreamCloud following shortly after in 2018.
DreamCloud offers a collection that includes hybrid mattresses as well as memory foam mattresses.
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is a replacement model for the now discontinued DreamCloud Premier (they adjusted the name slightly as DreamCloud now also sells an all foam version called the DreamCloud Premier Memory Foam).
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is a massive improvement over the DreamCloud Premier model, both in terms of score, design, materials, and quality.
Here is a comparison of the 2021-2024 DreamCloud Premier (now discontinued) compared to the 2025 DreamCloud Premier Hybrid (current version being sold).

(now discontinued)

Specs | DreamCloud Premier (2021-2024, discontinued) | DreamCloud Premier Hybrid (current version) |
---|---|---|
Overall Score | 8.26 | 8.98 |
Thickness | 14″ | 13.5″ |
Firmness | Slightly Firm (7) | Medium-Firm (6) |
Cover | Quilted Cover | Quilted Cover |
Comfort Layer | 1.0″ Quilted Cover 2.5″ Memory Foam 1.0″ Poly Foam | 1.5″ Quilted Cover 2.0″ Memory Foam 1.0″ Poly Foam |
Support Layer | 8.5″ Pocketed Coils | 8.0″ Pocketed Coils 1.0″ Support Foam |
The comparison image above clearly shows the difference in both material quality and build quality. That difference in material and build quality has a dramatic impact on performance, as we saw the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid performing notably better than average, while the Premier was significantly worse than average.
The Premier Hybrid has a slightly softer feel (medium-firm, 6 out of 10) than the DreamCloud Premier (slightly firm, 7 out of 10) and similar comfort layers. But overall, the foam quality and support layers are just better, proving a higher performance level.
Side by side, the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid tied or outperformed the original Premier in the following categories: Cooling, Motion Transfer, Response Time, Edge Support, Pressure Relief, and Company.
Only only notable area where the new Premier Hybrid is worse than the discontinued Premier is sex, which is worse due to the lower level of bounce. Even so, that feels like a small price to pay considering the significant performance improvement in other areas.
