How is DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid Different?
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid is a 14″ memory foam hybrid mattress with an overall performance level that is better than average and a price that is below average. When looking for a great value mattress, this is exactly what we want to see.

Advantages
The DreamCloud Luxe has better cooling performance, low levels of motion transfer, and faster material responsiveness. Pressure relief is slightly better than average, and this mattress is backed by a 365-night trial and lifetime warranty.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has moderate levels of bounce and very low levels of bounce. Both of these factors are neither good nor bad, but do give the mattress a more dramatic feel.
If you know you’re looking for an active mattress with high bounce, this mattress likely won’t satisfy. In the same way, if you’re looking for something with a more restrained feel, the Luxe checks a lot of boxes.
Disadvantages
Disadvantages of the DreamCloud Luxe include weaker edges and a lower sex score (primarily due to lower bounce).
Cooling Test
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
75.4° F
Max. Temp.
90.5° F
Ending Temp.
81.0° F
The mattress uses a simple, but proven, hybrid design. The pocketed coil support layers bring air into the mattress. Sitting atop the coils we have layers of memory foam, poly foam, and a quilted cover.
This quilted cover is infused with cooling fibers. In addition, the mattress uses phase change material that sits between the quilted cover and memory foam layer. This combination of cooling fibers and phase change material is doing much of the heavy lifting for cooling.
Max. Temp.

Ending Temp.

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
The cover creates a cool-to-the-touch feel when you initially lie down. While it does lose most of its cooling the longer you lie in the same position, it is great when you first get into bed and when you change positions.
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 90.5° F. This is 0.7° warmer than the average of 89.8° F, based on all of our tests to date.
After getting off the mattress, the temperature declined by 4.6° from minutes 0 to 1, which is 0.1° warmer than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.7°.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is excellent.
Sinkage Test
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has moderate sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.10″. This is 0.08″ less sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.18″, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
2.10″
Sinkage Feel
Moderate
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The mattress creates a dramatic body contouring hug. This mattress is equipped with memory foam within the euro top cover, and it uses memory foam within the topmost comfort layer.
These layers of memory foam have a more traditional feel, which means slower response, more contour, and more hug. This is neither good nor bad, but it is a more specific feel.
In order to feel well supported and comfortable on the mattress, you’ll need to really prefer the feel of memory foam.
Motion Transfer Test
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has a very low level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 5.38 m/s². This is 38% less motion transfer than the average of 8.64 m/s².
Max. Acceleration
2.79 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-2.59 m/s²
Accel. Range
5.38 m/s²
The DreamCloud Luxe is topped with a thicker layer of memory foam. This memory foam is more traditional in its formulation and feel, which means less bounce, slower response, and better energy dissipation.
It’s these properties that are helping this mattress keep motion transfer held to lower levels. Memory foam is almost always best-in-class when it comes to motion transfer and that’s exactly what we measured here with the DreamCloud Luxe.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.15 seconds. Motion drops off massively immediately thereafter. We see a slight level of motion continue until it returns to near-zero levels by 0.94 seconds.

Overall, I’m extremely pleased with the motion transfer dynamic. Motion intensity is well below average and the only notable motion spikes were within the initial 0.15 seconds.
Response Test
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has a fast mostly recovered response time and a very fast fully recovered response time.
Mostly Recovered
0.4 sec.
Fully Recovered
0.6 sec.
In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.4 seconds, which is 0.02 seconds faster than the average of 0.42 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.6 seconds, which is 0.38 seconds faster than the average of 0.98 seconds.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
The fastest responsiveness mattresses we’ve tested are 0.2 seconds to mostly recover and 0.3 seconds to fully recover. While the Luxe Hybrid isn’t quite at the level, it’s not far off.
The memory foam layers within the mattress slow down response slightly, and yet, it’s still better than average and faster than many other types of memory foam.

The poly foam and coils within the mattress are rebounding back to shape effectively instantly.
All that to say, I am pleased with this level of responsiveness. It helps to make the mattress easy to move around on and I don’t expect it will be an issue for most sleepers.
Bounce Test
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has a very low level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 4.90″. This is 4.24″ less bounce than the average of 9.14″, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
4.27″
Max. Rebound
0.63″
Total Bounce
4.90″
The lower bounce is the result of the thicker-than-average comfort layer, but also because of the layers of memory foam on top of the mattress.
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid uses a more traditional memory foam with lots of hug, contour, and a denser, viscoelastic feel.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max. Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
The layers of memory foam are the primary reason the mattress has such low motion transfer. However, that same effect reduces bounce, which negatively impacts sex performance.
The lower bounce also makes the mattress slightly more difficult to move around on. However, that effect is lessened by the fast material responsiveness and moderate sinkage depth.
Edge Support Test
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has good sitting edge support and good lying edge support.
Max. Sinkage
4.25″
Lying Support
Good
In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 4.25″. This is 0.25″ more sitting sinkage than the average of 4.00″, based on all of our tests to date.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

Lying edge support has a similar performance level. While lying directly on the edge of the mattress, I felt that the support was good in all sleeping positions.
While both sitting and lying edge support are good, it’s also clear the performance does not rise to that excellent or outstanding level.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

The mattress is equipped with reinforced coils that run along the entire perimeter of the mattress. These coils are definitely having a positive impact. Even so, there is still room for improvement.
The comfort layers on the mattress have a notable level of sinkage and not much pushback. This is perfectly fine for comfort and pressure relief, but it’s definitely not helping the mattress create more robust edge support for sitting or lying.
Sex Test
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has mediocre sex performance. First up, let’s talk through the positives; noise is minimal and both pressure relief and cooling are excellent. In addition, edge support earned a good score with 4.25” of sitting edge sinkage.

While it’s true that edge support could have been better, it’s not bad by any stretch and should be supportive enough for most couples that it’s a non-issue.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 5.5 | Very Low |
Edge Support | 20% | 8.4 | Good |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
All that said, the one area where performance is absolutely problematic is the bounce. At just 4.90” of total bounce height the DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has considerably lower bounce than average.
That lower bounce means sex is more strenuous, difficult, and the mattress is simply less engaging for amorous activities.
As a result of the low level of bounce, the total sex performance struggles greatly.
Pressure Relief Test
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has an excellent level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no pressure points on my body. The mattress does a nice job of creating comfort, relieving pressure, and hugging the body.
Comfort Layer
5.0″
Support Layer
9.0″
The topmost memory foam layer looks and feels good on the body and in hand. The foam seems to be of higher quality. The poly foam in the core of the mattress is a perfectly fine foam, though it’s also fairly average.
The poly foam doesn’t feel as good as the memory foam does with respect to quality. Even so, it’s hard to complain too much here. This is a more budget-friendly mattress at $1.4K for a Queen.

As a result, these foams are about where I expect them to be in terms of quality and feel. The mattress is equipped with 5.0″ of comfort material, which is 0.85″ more comfort material than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.15″, based on all of our tests to date.
The thicker-than-average comfort layer and adequate quality level of the foams create the right conditions for sufficient comfort and pressure relief.
In our pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 0.68. This is well within the low-pressure range we hope and well south of the 2.0 PSI high-pressure point we want to avoid.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Side Sleepers | 0.12 | 0.52 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Back Sleepers | 0.07 | 0.68 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Stomach Sleepers | 0.08 | 0.43 |
When I consider our objective pressure mapping tests, material thickness, material quality, and my subjective experience on the mattress, I’m confident most sleepers will find the pressure relief to be excellent.
Off-Gassing Test
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid had a strong smell upon the initial unboxing. The mattress smelled for 7 days. This is 0.5 days longer than the average smell duration of 6.5 days.

Company
Being a sister brand to Nectar, DreamCloud mimics the terms and conditions of Nectar mattresses. It offers a 365-night trial and a lifetime warranty. Shipping and returns are both free.
Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
---|---|---|---|
Trial Period | 15% | 10 | 365 nights |
Warranty | 10% | 10 | Lifetime |
Shipping | 5% | 10 | $0 |
Returns | 20% | 10 | $0 |
Trust | 50% | 8.0 | Good |
Country of Origin | 0% | USA |
Comparing 100+ brands tested to date, the average trial period is 170 nights, so DreamCloud’s 365-night trial is notably more than the average. DreamCloud also offers a lifetime warranty, an advantage only offered by 39% of all mattresses we test.

How firm is DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid?
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid comes in a single firmness, 6 out of 10, which gives the mattress a medium-firm feel.

This feel is generally preferred by a wide range of sleepers at varying weights and sleeping positions.
Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid is excellent. During our tests, I felt well supported in all sleeping positions.
For a mattress to create ideal support it needs to keep the body well supported with the spine in a neutral alignment, while also creating sufficient pressure relief and comfort. The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid accomplishes both of those requirements.

Pressure relief was excellent due to the thicker-than-average comfort material and body contouring memory foam layers. This excellent pressure relief allows the body to be supported in the same position without feeling the need to move or change positions.
The mattress is equipped with a 9.0″ support layer. This is 1.07″ thicker than the average support layer thickness of 7.93″, based on all of our tests to date.
In addition, the mattress is equipped with a zoned foam layer in the core of the mattress. The layer is cut into 3 zones. Zoned foams create more support in the middle of the mattress to better support where most sleepers have most of their weight.

In addition, a zoned support system helps resist sagging and body impressions. This combination of robust support layers, zoned support, and ample comfort material, create the right conditions for excellent support.
Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleeper | Side Sleeper | Back Sleeper |
---|---|---|---|
Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Lastly, the mattress has a medium-firm feel, which is ideal for all sleeping positions and body types up to 300 pounds.
Based on all of my tests to date, an analysis of the materials, and my subjective experiences, I’m confident that most sleepers will find support on the DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid is excellent.

The Cover
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid has a 1.25″ quilted cover with a plush feel. It has a dramatic scalloped stitching pattern that gives the mattress a luxurious look.

The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer is 5.0″ thick and made of memory foam and poly foam. According to DreamCloud, the poly foam is hole-punched, which is a common practice for improving breathability and responsiveness of a foam.

The manufacturer’s website also highlights a 3-zoned design within the poly foam layer. Zoned foam layers help to provide additional support along critical middle of the mattress, which creates better support and resists sagging in the middle of the mattress.
The Support Layer
The support layer is 9″ thick and made of pocketed coils and a 1.0″ support foam base. With this system, each coil is individually encased in a thin fabric and designed to move independently of each other.

Product Evolution
DreamCloud came from the same makers of the Nectar mattress, with Nectar launching in 2017 and DreamCloud following shortly after in 2018.
DreamCloud offers a collection that includes hybrid mattresses as well as memory foam mattresses.
We tested the DreamCloud Hybrid back in 2021 (which was sold from 2021 to 2024) and then did a re-test 2025. In 2025, Dreamcloud completely redesigned their mattress and brought manufacturing back to the US (as they were recently acquired by Ashley Sleep).
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid is a new model for DreamCloud, but could also be thought of as a replacement / rename to the now discontinued DreamCloud Premier Rest model. The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid is a massive improvement over the DreamCloud Premier Rest model, both in terms of score, design, materials, and quality.
Here is a comparison of the 2021-2024 DreamCloud Premier Rest (now discontinued) compared to the 2025 DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid (current version being sold).

Specs | DreamCloud Premier Rest | DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid |
---|---|---|
Overall Score | 7.78 | 8.76 |
Thickness | 16″ | 14″ |
Firmness | Medium-Firm (6) | Medium-Firm (6) |
Cover | Quilted Cover | Quilted Cover |
Comfort Layer | 2.0″ Quilted Cover 2.5″ Poly Foam 2.0″ Poly Foam | 1.25″ Quilted Cover 1.75″ Memory foam 2.00″ Poly foam |
Support Layer | 8.5″ Pocketed Coils 1.0″ support foam | 8.0″ Pocketed Coils 1.0″ Support Foam |
The comparison image above clearly shows the difference in both material quality and build quality. That difference in material and build quality has a dramatic impact on performance, as we saw the DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid performing notably better than average, while the Premier Rest was significantly worse than average.
Even with a thinner total profile, the redesigned DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid is a fantastic performer and a fantastic value, especially when compared to the original design.

For Performance

Winkbed
#1 Best Mattress Tested
The Winkbed is the best mattress we’ve tested to date, considering 330+ mattresses tested. It has fantastic performance across the board and is available in three firmness levels—Soft, Medium-Firm, and Slightly Firm. The price is higher than DreamCloud Luxe ($1,499 for a queen), but you’re also getting a higher performing mattress.
For Value

Leesa Original Hybrid
Less Sinkage, More Bounce
The Leesa Original Hybrid is an 11″ hybrid mattress with a medium-firm feel. This mattress has minimal sinkage and very high bounce. If you want a lower price tag with better performance than what we saw with the DremaCloud Luxe, the Leesa Original Hybrid can be an attractive choice. The one caveat—Leesa only offers a 100-night trial period, quite a bit shorter than DreamCloud’s 100-night trial period.
For Budget

Glacier Original
38% Savings Compared to DreamCloud Luxe
The Glacier Original is a 12″ hybrid mattress with moderate sinkage and low levels of bounce. It has a medium-firm feel, with great performance across the board (despite its low price tag). The only category where the mattress struggles is sex performance, but given the lower bounce, these results aren’t too shocking.
