Why is the Bear Recommended for Athletes?

Derek Hales

Updated

The Bear is a good choice for athletes for a couple of reasons, but it is also suitable for non-athletes as well.

Bear backs their mattress with a group of sponsors (Team Bear). This is essentially a group of athletes who all sleep on a Bear mattress.

In this way, the Bear mattress begins to be associated with athletes, who provide a link between better sleep and enhanced professional athletic performance.

So what makes the Bear special for athletes?

Excellent cooling, limited motion transfer, extremely fast response time, and excellent pressure relief all contribute to better mattress performance.

Of the two Bear hybrid mattresses that we have personally tested, Bear has higher than average scores. The Bear Elite Hybrid scores 9.24 overall and the Bear Star Hybrid is only slightly lower at 8.92.

But is it really better for athletes?

The short answer is no, at least not in our view. Bear is an excellent mattress with performance that is well above average.

A mattress that performs better will lead to better sleep. Better sleep leads to better physical and mental recovery. This simple fact makes the Bear mattress good for all human beings, whether they are athletes or not.
