What is the Bear Mattress Warranty?

Derek Hales

Updated

In January of 2022, Bear mattresses increased their warranty period from 10 to 20 years (depending on the model) to a Lifetime warranty for every model. Technically called a “Limited Lifetime Warranty“, this warranty covers:

  • Body impressions or sagging greater than 1.5″ (when used with a supportive, approved foundation). If found to be used on an improper bed frame, they may reject a warranty claim.
  • Mattress flaws or cracks, under normal usage conditions
  • Defective mattresses (as defined by “defects” in their terms and conditions)

The mattress cover also comes with a 1-year warranty, which covers faults in material or workmanship.

“So if I want to use this warranty, how does it work?”

Only for the first 10 years will a customer (Bear defines as “Purchaser”) receive a non-prorated replacement, meaning 100% free. After which, the customer will have to pay between 50-75% of the current retail price to receive a replacement.

Note: This warranty does not apply to secondhand owners. You must provide proof of purchase to take advantage of this program.

And there are a slew of other details about what may qualify or disqualify a warranty. You can see the full language of Bear’s Limited Lifetime Warranty here.
