What Does the Puffy “Lifetime Warranty” Cover?

Derek Hales

Updated

Puffy offers customers a lifetime warranty with their mattresses that protects them from defects in their mattresses that are not caused by misuse.

They describe the covered defects as follows:

  • Visible indention or sag greater than 1.5″, and this can’t be the result of improper use, base, foundation, or floor
  • Zipper failures due to manufacturing errors and not the result of mishandling or wear and tear
  • Structural defects in the cover, including torn fabric or loose stitching, provided they weren’t caused by improper use

To date, around 41% of the 400+ mattresses we’ve reviewed offer a lifetime warranty of some kind. But these warranties can differ in the fine print.

Do they pay for 100% of the replacement cost?

Puffy is among an even smaller minority of mattress brands that offer a lifetime warranty and the full replacement cost of a new/similar model, regardless of how long it has been.

Unlike many companies with similar “lifetime” warranties, Puffy does not prorate the amount credited to the customer if they use their warranty after a specific time period. Often, 10 years is a threshold where less and less of the full replacement cost is credited to the customer to be used towards a new model.
