The Birch mattress comes with a 25-year limited warranty. There’s a bit of fine print regarding how to cash out on this warranty so be sure to read below before making a claim.
First, the warranty only applies to the original purchaser, no resale or secondhand owner.

The first 10 years of the warranty offer full coverage replacement in the event of manufacturing defects.
Years 11-25 have a limited prorated warranty. If defects occur during this time period, Birch will replace the mattress on a prorated schedule. You will also have to pay for any shipping charges for this replacement.
Here is how the prorated calendar works over the life of the warranty.
Year of Warranty | Replacement Cost to Buyer |
---|---|
11th | 50% |
12th | 55% |
13th | 60% |
14th | 65% |
15th | 70% |
16th | 75% |
17th | 80% |
18th | 85% |
19th | 90% |
20th | 95% |
21st | 95% |
22nd | 95% |
23rd | 95% |
24th | 95% |
25th | 95% |
As you can see, past the first 10 years, any replacement (regardless of defect or otherwise) may still incur a hefty charge from Birch. This is especially true for the last 5 years of the warranty where the buyer would have to foot 95% of the cost to replace.
