How is Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid Different?
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid is a 14.50″ hybrid mattress with an overall performance level that is above average and a price tag that is also very near-average.
Advantages
Advantages of the Lull Luxe Premium include better cooling, faster material response time, better sex performance, faster off-gassing, and a great company score.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has moderate sinkage and moderate bounce. Both of these factors are considered neutral since different sleepers may have different opinions and preferences in this area.

Disadvantages
The biggest disadvantage of the Lull Luxe Premium is higher levels of motion transfer. This can be a disadvantage for couples or sensitive sleepers who share a bed with kids or pets.
Cooling Test
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
75.5° F
Max. Temp.
90.8° F
Ending Temp.
80.8° F
This mattress uses a hybrid design, with layers of poly foam sitting atop a pocketed coil unit.
The coil unit helps to bring extra airflow into the mattress, while the choice to use poly foam over a memory foam also helps to resist heat retention. Lull Luxe Premium also utilizes gel beads within the top foam layer.
Max. Temp.

Ending Temp.

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
In my view, these beads are not likely to have a huge improvement on cooling performance, but rather, the hybrid design, poly foams, and high-quality materials are driving most of the cooling performance. Even so, the gel beds are likely to have some positive impact on cooling.
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 90.8° F. This is 0.8° warmer than the average of 90.0° F, based on all of our tests to date.
After getting off the mattress, the temperature declined by 6.2 degrees from minutes 0 to 1, which is 1.4 degrees cooler than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.8 degrees.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is excellent.
Sinkage Test
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid has moderate sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.03″. This is 0.19″ less sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.22″, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
2.03″
Sinkage Feel
Moderate
Body Contour
Balanced
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The mattress creates a balanced body contouring hug. The Lull Luxe Premium utilizes a 5.5” comfort layer of poly foam to create a less polarizing, more balanced, and even type of a comfort dynamic that many sleepers will enjoy.
At 5.5” of comfort material, the comfort layer is considerably thicker than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.28”. That extra material, combined with high-quality materials, delivers fantastic pressure relief and comfort.
Motion Transfer Test
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid has a moderate level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 11.22 m/s². This is 28% more motion transfer than the average of 8.79 m/s².
Accel. Range
11.22 m/s²
Motion Duration
1.16 seconds
Hybrid mattresses, mattresses without much memory foam, and mattresses with more bounce typically create more motion transfer. Lull Luxe Premium is all of those things and, as expected, created more motion transfer than average.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.2 seconds. In addition, there is a small, but notably secondary motion spike from 0.5 to 0.6 seconds.
Motion Transfer Over Time

By 1.16 seconds, we’ve returned to near-zero levels of energy, which is 0.28 seconds longer than the average motion duration of 0.88 seconds.
Both motion intensity and motion transfer are worse than average. As a result, the total motion transfer experience on the Lull Luxe Premium just isn’t great.
Response Test
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid has an extremely fast mostly recovered response time and a fast fully recovered response time.
In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.2 seconds, which is 0.21 seconds faster than the average of 0.41 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
Mostly Recovered
0.2 sec.
Fully Recovered
0.8 sec.
In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.8 seconds, which is 0.21 seconds faster than the average of 1.01 seconds.
The combination of all poly foam comfort layers and hybrid design allows this mattress to spring back to shape incredibly quickly. From top to bottom, the material layers are highly resilient, springy, and responsive.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
This type of material feel creates excellent ease of movement and avoids any type of a “stuck” feeling in the mattress.
Bounce Test
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid has a moderate level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 9.94″. This is 1.13″ more bounce than the average of 8.81″, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
5.75″
Max. Rebound
4.19″
Total Bounce
9.94″
The same factors that are creating higher than average motion transfer are also creating higher than average bounce.
The combination of pocketed coil unit base, all poly foam comfort layer, moderate sinkage depth, and medium-firm feel work together to create more bounce than average.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max. Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
That extra bounce is part of the reason why motion transfer is worse than average. However, more bounce also greatly helps ease of movement and sex performance, so it’s not without its benefits.
Edge Support Test
Max. Sinkage
4.50″
Lying Support
Excellent
Reinforced Edge
Yes
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid has good sitting edge support and excellent lying edge support.
In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 4.50″. This is 0.55″ more sitting sinkage than the average of 3.95″, based on all of our tests to date.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

While lying directly on the edge of the mattress, I felt that the support was excellent in all sleeping positions. This mattress is equipped with a reinforced edge utilizing perimeter support foam.
The support foam is 8” tall, 4” wide, and has an ILD of 40 and a 1.8 PCF density. ILD is a measure of firmness and a 40 is considered a “firm” feel.
Given the robust reinforced perimeter foam, I am surprised sitting edge support doesn’t seem to be any better than it is, at least for sitting edge sinkage.
Lying edge support was notably better and I felt more fully supported there.
Sex Test
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid has good sex performance. First, let’s talk through what the mattress does well.
Noise is minimal and pressure relief earned a perfect 10 out of 10 score. In addition, cooling earned an excellent score. So at a minimum, this is a comfortable mattress that won’t make much noise.

Moving on, we have bounce, which we measured at 9.94”. This is notably higher than average and is a significant contributor to the score.
When it comes to bounce, more is almost always better for sex. Last but not least we have edge support, which we measured at 4.50” of sitting edge sinkage.
| Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bounce | 65% | 8.7 | High |
| Edge Support | 20% | 8.1 | Good |
| Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
| Pressure Relief | 5% | 10 | Outstanding |
| Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
This is worse than average and for some couples could mean the edge won’t feel as supportive as they’d prefer for amorous activities. Even so, the Lull Luxe Premium does far more right than it does wrong and earns a solid score for sex.
Pressure Relief Test
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid has an outstanding level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no significant pressure points on my body. Quite the opposite in fact, this mattress is incredibly comfortable to lie on, even for extended durations.
Comfort Layer
5.50″
Support Layer
9.00″
The mattress is equipped with 5.5″ of comfort material, which is 1.22″ more comfort material than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.28″, based on all of our tests to date.
In addition, the foam quality is good, feeling good both in the hand and on the body. From top to bottom, we have a foam density of 3.2 PCF, 2.5 PCF, and 1.6 PCF.

Not the absolute best we’ve seen, but these are respectable and good density measures at this price point.
In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 0.85. This is well below the 1.0 PCF threshold I want to see.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Side Sleepers | 0.13 | 0.52 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Back Sleepers | 0.08 | 0.85 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Stomach Sleepers | 0.08 | 0.73 |
When I consider our objective pressure mapping tests, material thickness, material quality, and my subjective experience on the mattress, I’m confident most sleepers will find the pressure relief to be outstanding.
Off-Gassing Test
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid had a strong smell upon the initial unboxing. The mattress smelled for 3 days. This is 4.0 days shorter than the average smell duration of 7.0 days.

How firm is Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid?
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid is available in a single firmness, 6 out of 10, giving the mattress a medium-firm feel.

This firmness is generally considered suitable for a wide range of sleepers.
Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid is outstanding. During our tests, I felt well supported in all sleeping positions. The mattress is equipped with a 9.0″ support layer. This is 1.09″ thicker than the average support layer thickness of 7.91″, based on all of our tests to date.
| Support Factor | Data |
|---|---|
| Comfort Layer | 5.50″ |
| Support Layer | 9.00″ |
| Firmness | Medium-Firm |
| Body Contour | Balanced |
| Zoned Support | No |
| Reinforced Edge | Yes |
For a mattress to create excellent support, it needs to both keep the body well supported, with the spine in a neutral alignment, and also provide ample pressure relief and comfort.
The Lull Luxe Premium meets both of these requirements. We have a combination of high quality materials, thicker-than-average comfort and support layer, good foam densities, a proven hybrid design, and a good build quality.
In addition, the mattress has a medium-firm feel, which works well for most body types and all sleeping positions.

Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
| Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleeper | Side Sleeper | Back Sleeper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Interestingly, this mattress does not use any type of zoned support, which is a bit unusual at this price point.
Even so, the lack of zoned support did not negatively impact the support experience during our tests. The pocketed coil unit uses a 14-gauge coil, which is in the 12-14 gauge sweet spot that I like to see.
Based on all of my tests to date, an analysis of the materials, and my subjective experiences, I’m confident that most sleepers will find support on the Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid is outstanding.

The Cover
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid has a standard quilted cover. It is only 0.5″ thick and has a classic diamond-stitching pattern. The fabric is a blend of polyester and rayon, giving it a thin, stretchy feel.

The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer is 5.50″ thick and made of three layers of poly foam. The top foam (orange) is 2.0″ thick and measures 3.2 PCF (pounds per cubic foot). For reference, a higher PCF indicates a denser, more durable foam.

Below the initial poly foam is a secondary 2.0″ poly foam (yellow) that measures 2.5 PCF.
The density stair-steps its way down, ending with a thinner 1.0″ poly foam (lighter yellow) at the base of the comfort layer. This last comfort foam has the lowest density at 1.6 PCF.
The Support Layer
Following the comfort layer is the support layer. The support layer is 9.00″ thick and made of an 8.0″ layer of pocketed coils followed by a 1.0″ support foam with a 1.6 PCF.

There is a perimeter foam that wraps the perimeter of the mattress and fully encases the coils, improving edge support, pressure relief, and limiting motion transfer across the mattress.
Product Evolution
The Lull Luxe Premium Hybrid released in 2024, as a more luxurious version of the Lull Luxe Hybrid, a lower-priced hybrid that hit the market in 2021.
Lull has been in the mattress market since 2015, when it first started selling the original Lull mattress.
There have been no major changes made to this mattress design since it launched in 2024.
