Best For
- Extremely fast material response time—0.3 seconds for full recovery
- Excellent cooling performance
- Excellent lying support (even at the edge)
Considerations
- $99 return fee
- Higher levels of motion transfer (11.60 m/s²), 31% more than average
- 10″ thick profile may not be thick enough for heavier weighted sleepers
Our Verdict
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion is a 10″ latex foam mattress that contains a quilted zipper cover and three perforated latex foam layers.
It has minimal sinkage and moderate levels of bounce.
This mattress is available in three different firmness levels—Soft (4.5), Medium-Firm (6), or Slightly Firm (7.5).
In our performance tests, the Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion had a below-average performance score, earning an 8.43 out of 10. The average performance score is 8.57.
That being said, it is also a good budget option. The Luxerion is only $1099 for a queen mattress, coming in 43% less expensive than the average latex mattress.
While it does have some performance disadvantages, many sleepers may be willing to overlook these for the significant cost savings the Luxerion provides.

How is Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion Different?
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion has an overall performance level that is below average, but also a price tag that is significantly below average as well—30% less than the average latex foam mattress for a savings of $547 for a queen mattress.
Advantages
Advantages of the Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion include above-average cooling, faster material response time, slightly better edge support when lying, and faster off-gassing.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has moderate levels of both sinkage and bounce. This is pretty typical of latex foam as it tends to have a more generalized contour compared to memory foam mattresses.
Disadvantages
Disadvantages include higher levels of motion transfer and a slightly worse sex score than average. It also has a $99 return fee if things end up not working out.

Cooling Test
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
78.0° F
Max Temp.
89.6° F
Ending Temp.
81.5° F
The mattress uses a simple, but proven design of 3 foam latex layers. Latex as a material type resists heat retention effectively; especially compared to many memory and poly foams, which typically hold onto heat more significantly.
Max Temp.

Ending Temp

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 89.6° F, which is 0.1° cooler than the average, based on all of our tests to date.
After getting off the mattress the temperature declined by 5.5° from minutes 0 to 1, which is 0.8° cooler than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.7°.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the complete picture of objective data, subjective experience, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident most sleepers will find cooling to be sufficient.
Sinkage Test
The Luxerion has a moderate level of sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.07”. This is 0.08” less sinkage than the average of 2.15”, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
2.07″
Sinkage Feel
Moderate
The mattress creates only a slight level of body contouring hug. Instead of creating a dramatic and exacting hug around the body like many memory and poly foam mattresses do, it creates more of a circular and generalized depression around the body.
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The limited hug and minimal sinkage mean the mattress has more of a floating feel where your body lies more “on” the mattress as opposed to sinking down “in” the mattress.
Motion Transfer Test
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion has a moderate level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured an acceleration range of 11.60 m/s². This is 32% more motion transfer than the average of 8.80 m/s².
Max. Acceleration
5.33 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-6.27 m/s²
Accel. Range
11.60 m/s²
Latex as a material type simply has more bounce. In addition, latex layers have a certain “jiggliness” to material that causes them to wiggle and move more easily. Stacking latex layers together maximizes the jiggle and bounce of the material, resulting in the higher motion.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion from 0 to 0.14 seconds. There is a moderate secondary spike from 0.50 to 0.64 seconds and finally by 1.08 seconds, we return to near-zero levels of energy.

Neither the motion peaks nor motion duration is especially great. Unfortunately, higher motion is one of the common weaknesses of latex foam mattresses. Whether it’s the Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion or a different all-latex mattress, you’ll need to be okay with a higher level of motion transfer.
Response Test
The Luxerion has an extremely fast material response. During our mostly recovered test, we measured 0.2 seconds for the mattress to recover back to shape. This is 0.20 seconds faster than the average of 0.40 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
Mostly Recovered
0.2 sec.
Complete Recovery
0.3 sec.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
During our fully recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.3 seconds. This is 0.60 seconds faster than the average of 0.90 seconds.
This is effectively an instant material responsiveness speed. The fast response ensures you’ll never feel stuck and the mattress is easy to move around on.
Bounce Test
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion has a moderate level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 9.05”. This is 0.46” less bounce than the average of 9.51”, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
5.62″
Max. Rebound
3.43″
Total Bounce

Max. Sinkage Depth

Max Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
Latex as a material type is able to create more significant bounce. Ideally, I like to see 8-12” of bounce, as it’s enough to facilitate ease of movement and improved sex performance, while not being so high as to create problems with motion transfer.
At 9.05” the Luxerion is within my ideal range. I expect most sleepers will find this level of bounce to be satisfactory.
Edge Support Test
The Luxerion mattress has good sitting edge support and excellent lying edge support. During our sitting edge support tests, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 4.25”. This is 0.20” less sitting sinkage than the average of 4.05, based on all of our tests.
Max Sinkage
4.25″
Lying Support
Excellent
While sitting on the edge the materials aren’t fully collapsing, but there is definitely a more noted compression level.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

All that said, lying edge support was notably better.
While lying directly on the edge of the mattress I felt well supported in all sleeping positions. The Luxerion seems to do much better when weight is more evenly distributed.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

This type of edge support dynamic is typical of most foam latex mattresses we’ve tested. While the total edge support performance is far from perfect, it should still be perfectly serviceable for most sleepers.
Sex Test
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion has good sex performance. The more impressive performance criteria include a minimal noise level and excellent cooling performance. From there, we have 9.05” of bounce, which earns the mattress a good score.

Edge support was at 4.25”, which is a bit more sinkage than is ideal, but still well within the green scoring threshold. Finally, we have good pressure relief.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 8.1 | High |
Edge Support | 20% | 8.4 | Good |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 8.0 | Good |
Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
Overall amorous activity is good. Mind you, it doesn’t quite rise to the “excellent” level, but for most couples, it should be perfectly satisfactory.
Pressure Relief Test
The Luxerion has good pressure relief. During our tests, I found pressure relief to be good overall, though I did experience some minor pressure points in my back.
Comfort Layer
4.0″
Support Layer
6.0″
In my view, this is most likely due to the more polarizing feel of latex in general. The feel of latex is quite unique, and the feel of Dunlop latex in particular is more unique.
The Luxerion is 9” of Dunlop latex. In testing this mattress I couldn’t help but compare it to the Sleep EZ, which is a sister brand of Latex Mattress Factory.
The Sleep EZ is topped with a layer of Talalay latex, which in my view helped it create better pressure relief compared to the Luxerion.

The Luxerion is built with three 3.0” Dunlop latex layers. As such, its comfort vs. support layer split isn’t as clear-cut as many other mattresses.
In any case, I would consider the topmost 3.0” latex layer to be acting as the comfort layer, which is then topped with a 1.0” quilted cover. This gives the mattress a 4.0” comfort layer, which is 0.1″ less comfort material than the average of 4.1″ (based on all of our tests).
In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 1.53. A PSI of 2.0 is considered high. While the pressure points didn’t reach that level, they are also far from perfect. In the side lying position we can see more significant building pressure in the hips and shoulders.
All that to say, pressure relief is good, especially considering the price point for an all-latex mattress. Even so, the level of pressure relief doesn’t rise to the “excellent” or “outstanding” level.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Side Sleepers | 0.21 | 1.53 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Back Sleepers | 0.12 | 1.20 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
---|---|---|
Stomach Sleepers | 0.12 | 1.10 |
Off-Gassing Test
Off-gassing was initially strong on the Luxerion mattress, but the odor only lasted 1 day. Comparing all mattresses tested to date, this is significantly faster than the average (6 days).
Initial Smell Strength
Strong
Off-Gassing Period
1 day
One note, the LMF factory is located here in Arizona (where NapLab is also based) so our mattress arrived bagged and not boxed / compressed. This probably helped to keep the smell reduced. But that being said, I would still not expect any major off-gassing from this mattress.
Company
Latex Mattress Factory offers a trial period of only 100 nights and a 10-year warranty. Shipping is free, but if the mattress ends up not working on, returns cost $99.
Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
---|---|---|---|
Trial Period | 15% | 8.0 | 100 nights |
Warranty | 10% | 8.0 | 10 years |
Shipping | 5% | 10 | $0 |
Returns | 20% | 7.0 | $99 |
Trust | 50% | 8.0 | Good |
Country of Origin | 0% | Sri Lanka |
Needless to say, having to pay anything to return a mattress isn’t ideal. Most mattresses we’ve tested don’t charge for returns. That said, perhaps it can be forgiven due to the budget price point. Comparing over 270+ mattresses tested to date, 78% of mattresses offer free returns.
For reference, the average trial period is 176 nights. And regarding warranties, the average duration 13 years (excluding 25% of mattresses that offer lifetime warranties).
How firm is Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion?
The Luxerion mattress is available in three firmness levels—soft (4.5, estimate), medium-firm (6), and slightly firm (7.5, estimate).
We tested the medium-firm version, which came in at a 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale.

Our firmness ratings for the soft and firm versions are estimates based on our experience with the Luxerion, as well as other mattresses we’ve tested.
Support & Sleeping Positions
The Latex Mattress Factory Luxerion has excellent support. During our tests, I felt well-supported in all sleeping positions.
The mattress is equipped with a 6.0” support layer, consisting of two 3.0” Dunlop latex layers. This 6.0” support layer is a good bit thinner than the average support layer thickness, which is 7.9”, based on all of our tests to date.
Even so, the Luxerion didn’t seem to struggle when it came to support.
Notably, the mattress is available in 3 different firmness options:
- Soft
- Medium
- Firm
The different firmness levels come with a unique layer stack that helps to create the appropriate feel, comfort, and support for each mattress.
The illustrations below show the three different ways this mattress can stack up (top foam, middle foam, bottom foam).

Having multiple firmness options helps provide sleepers with the specific feel that best suits their preferences, needs, body weight, and sleeping position. Overall, I’m pleased with the support dynamic and I expect most sleepers will find it satisfactory.

Materials
This mattress contains a latex foam. In total, there are four layers on this mattress with the first two being dedicated to comfort and the bottom two dedicated to support.
- 1.0” cotton cover quilted with wool
- 3.0” latex foam, medium
- 3.0” latex foam, medium
- 3.0” latex foam, firm

This mattress arrived uncompressed and unassembled. Basically, the cover, which had a firm foam layer inside it, came in one plastic-wrapped bag, and the other two latex foam layers came in their own plastic bags.
Assembly is as simple as placing the latex layers on top of each other in the correct order (medium > medium > firm for our mattress). The latex is quite heavy and harder to move around, so ideally this is a two-person job.
The Law Tag outlines the full breakdown of materials included in this mattress.

The Cover
This mattress has an organic cotton cover. It is soft to the touch and has a linear stitching pattern that runs width-wise across the body of the mattress.
The cover is quilted with a 1.0″ layer of Joma wool, which originates from New Zealand.

Lastly, the cover has a zipper that makes it easy to remove the cover and rearrange the foam layers below if you want to change the firmness of the mattress.
The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer is functionally the topmost 3.0″ layer of latex. However, each of the latex layers impact how the mattress will feel. Depending on the firmness of the mattress as whole, the individual latex layer firmness will vary.

Regardless of firmness, all latex is certified by Oeko-Tex as well as Eco-Institute, both of which are great qualifications if sustainability and material quality are high on your checklist in a new mattress.
The Support Layer
The support layer is the bottom 6.0″ of latex (split across two separate 3.0″ latex layers).

As with the comfort layer, the firmness of the support latex layers will vary based on the firmness of the mattress as a whole. The graphic below shows how the individual firmnesses of each latex layer vary.

Product Evolution
The Luxerion mattress was originally launched in 2023. Since its release, there have been no major changes made to the mattress.
This all-foam mattress was added to the Latex Mattress Factory lineup along with a single latex hybrid mattress as the first fully-assembled mattresses sold on the website.
Originally, LMF catered to DIY mattresses. The company would sell individual components and sleepers would purchase layers separately and build a unique mattress. LMF does still sell the individual mattress components if you prefer to build your own.

For Performance

Zenhaven
9.44 Overall Score
The Zenhaven is the highest-performing latex mattress we’ve tested to date. It has a flippable mattress with a 6″ comfort layer, very minimal sinkage, and moderate levels of bounce. The price is also significantly higher ($2,801 for a queen), but both the quality and performance are outstanding.
For Custom Layers

Spindle
8.96 Overall Score
The Spindle is another 10″ latex mattress with a zippered cover. Like the LMF Luxerion, the Spindle has a quilted cover and three layers of interchangeable latex for varying firmness levels. Spindle has a higher overall score, but also a higher price tag ($1,599 for a queen).
For More Bounce

Sleep EZ
8.73 Overall Score
The Sleep EZ is another 10″ latex foam mattress, made from a LMF’s sister company. It has moderate sinkage and high levels of bounce. The Sleep EZ has similar scores in many areas but does have better pressure relief due to the top layer of Talalay.
