Our Verdict
The EGOHome Tenzura is a 13.75″ hybrid mattress made of various foam types and a pocketed coil base. This mattress is designed as a 14″ hybrid, but is also available in a 12″ version. Additionally, the Tenzura is offered in a foam design (12″ or 14″ thickness). To clarify, we’re testing the 14″ hybrid version.
The EGOHome Tenzura is available in a single firmness level — medium-firm. This is a 6 out of 10 on our firmness scale, where 10 is the most firm. The feel is generally suitable for a wide range of sleepers, regardless of sleeping position.
This mattress has very deep sinkage and low levels of bounce. For sleepers who like to sleep “in the mattress,” this sinkage can be very desirable, as it provides deeper contour and a more restrained feel.
In our performance tests, this mattress earned an overall score of 7.73, ranking the mattress in the bottom 14% of all mattresses tested to date. While this certainly isn’t great performance, it does have a lower price to offset the performance disadvantages.
The EGOHome Tenzura is $829 for a queen-sized mattress, which is 45% less expensive than the average hybrid. If you’re looking for a hybrid under $1K, the EGOHome can be an attractive pick, but there are also many other higher-performing options you could consider.

How is EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid Different?
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid is a 13.75″ hybrid mattress with an overall performance level that is below average, but it’s accompanied by a price tag that is also considerably below average.
Advantages
Advantages of the EgoHome Tenzura include lower motion transfer levels and faster off-gassing. These are really the only two advantages of this mattress, but the advantage of the low price may be enough to offset the other disadvantages for some sleepers.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has very deep sinkage and low levels of bounce. These two factors are considered “neutral” since different sleepers will have different preferences in these areas.

Disadvantages
There are multiple disadvantages of the Tenzura Hybrid, including worse cooling, slower response time, and worse edge support.
Sex performance is also disappointing, largely marked by the lower level of bounce and weak edge support.
Cooling Test
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid has fair cooling. During our tests, I felt a slight to moderate level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
75.5° F
Max. Temp.
91.9° F
Ending Temp.
82.9° F
On the positive side of things, the Tenzura is a hybrid, which means we have more airflow coming into the mattress.
Max. Temp.

Before Cooling Test
Ending Temp.

After Cooling Test
- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
The mattress is also equipped with a cover called “Ice Silk”. While the cover feels nice, it’s not a cooling cover and it didn’t create any cool-to-the-touch feel during our tests.
Lastly, we have a gel memory foam. While the gel may be helping the cooling performance, it alone wasn’t enough to deliver significant cooling performance on this mattress.
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 91.9° F. This is 1.9° warmer than the average of 90.0° F, based on all of our tests to date.
After getting off the mattress, the temperature declined by 4.4 degrees from minutes 0 to 1, which is 0.4 degrees warmer than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.8 degrees.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is fair.
Sinkage Test
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid has very deep sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.61″. This is 0.37″ more sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.24″, based on all of our tests to date. The mattress creates a balanced body contouring hug.
Sinkage Depth
2.61″
Sinkage Feel
Very Deep
Body Contour
Balanced
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The combination of a thick quilted cover and poly foam top comfort layer creates a more even, less polarizing type of body contouring hug. That said, we do have a memory foam layer within the core that does still provide a noted body hug.
Even so, the thicker poly foam layers and quilted cover that are nearer the sleeper’s body restrain the memory foam, giving the mattress a more balanced feel.
Motion Transfer Test
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid has a very low level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 6.84 m/s². This is 22% less motion transfer than the average of 8.77 m/s².
Accel. Range
6.84 m/s²
Motion Duration
0.83 seconds
The combination of a thicker-than-average comfort layer and a 2.0” memory foam layer in the core does a great job at absorbing and dispersing energy.
This energy dispersal also means there is a substantially lower than average level of bounce, which further helps to reduce motion transfer.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.25 seconds. Motion declines notably thereafter.
By 0.83 seconds, we’ve returned to near-zero levels of energy, which is 0.05 seconds shorter than the average motion duration of 0.88 seconds.
Motion Transfer Over Time

Both motion intensity and motion duration are better than average, and as a result, I don’t expect motion to be a major issue for most sleepers.
Response Test
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid has a slow mostly recovered response time and a very slow fully recovered response time.
Mostly Recovered
0.8 sec.
Fully Recovered
2.1 sec.
In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.8 seconds, which is 0.39 seconds slower than the average of 0.41 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 2.1 seconds, which is 1.09 seconds slower than the average of 1.01 seconds.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
While the coil unit and poly foam layers rebound back to shape quickly, the memory foam does not. The 2.0” memory foam within the core is quite slow to fully recover back to its original shape.
This slower material recovery speed makes it harder to move around on this mattress, harder to change positions, and worse for sex performance.
Bounce Test
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid has a low level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 6.86″. This is 1.88″ less bounce than the average of 8.74″, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
5.62″
Max. Rebound
1.24″
Total Bounce
6.86″
The lower-than-average bounce is resulting from a combination of a thicker-than-average foam comfort layer and a 2.0” layer of slow responsiveness memory foam within the core.
These materials are absorbing and dispersing a great deal of energy, while also not offering much resilience or springiness.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Bounce Depth
Max. Bounce Height

Bounce Rebound
The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
The lower level of a bounce is a major reason that motion transfer is also lower. However, less bounce makes it harder to move around on the mattress and also negatively impacts sex performance.
Edge Support Test
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid has fair sitting edge support and mediocre lying edge support.
Max. Sinkage
4.75″
Lying Support
Mediocre
Reinforced Edge
No
In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 4.75″. This is 0.83″ more sitting sinkage than the average of 3.92″, based on all of our tests to date.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Edge Support Test
Sitting, 200 lbs.

Edge Support Test With Vest
While lying directly on the edge of the mattress, I felt that the support was mediocre in all sleeping positions. This mattress creates lots of sinkage and a notable body contouring hug.
This feel is great in the middle of the mattress, but along the edge is creating a weakening of support due to the contouring nature of the foam and deeper than average sinkage depth.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Edge Support Test Back Sleeping
Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

Edge Support Test Back Sleeping With Vest
Moreover, this mattress is not equipped with any type of reinforced edge foam or edge coils. This lack of reinforced support materials, in addition to the sinkage depth and notable body contour, set the stage for mediocre edge support performance.
Sex Test
This mattress only earned a fair score for cooling, which could create heat issues for some. In addition, edge support also earned a fair score.

In our edge support tests, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 4.75”. This is considerably more than average and simply means the edge isn’t particularly supportive, thereby reducing the usable surface area of the mattress.
| Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bounce | 65% | 6.8 | Low |
| Edge Support | 20% | 7.8 | Fair |
| Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
| Pressure Relief | 5% | 8.0 | Good |
| Cooling | 5% | 7.0 | Fair |
Last, but certainly not least, we have bounce, which we measured at 6.86”. This is significantly less bounce than average.
When it comes to sex, more bounce is almost always better. The lack of bounce here is the most significant driver of the below-average sex score on the Tenzura.
Pressure Relief Test
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid has a good level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no significant pressure points on my body.
Comfort Layer
5.75″
Support Layer
8.00″
Overall comfort was good, though it’s clear that pressure relief didn’t rise to the excellent or outstanding levels of performance.
The mattress is equipped with 5.75″ of comfort material, which is 1.46″ more comfort material than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.29″, based on all of our tests to date.
In all of our mattress tests, we make it a point to cut the mattress open to examine the material quality and layers. Overall quality is fine, but it’s also far from great. That said, it’s what I expect at this price point.

In our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 0.66, which is well within the 1.0 PSI threshold we ideally want to see.
Overall, the pressure relief performance is perfectly fine given the price point. That said, the material quality does limit the total comfort and pressure relief.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Side Sleepers | 0.11 | 0.44 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Back Sleepers | 0.06 | 0.66 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Stomach Sleepers | 0.07 | 0.39 |
These foams feel fine on the body, but not amazing. As long as your expectations are set accordingly, I think you could find this mattress fine, but it’s also far from a miracle worker.
When I consider our objective pressure mapping tests, material thickness, material quality, and my subjective experience on the mattress, I’m confident most sleepers will find the pressure relief to be good.
Off-Gassing Test
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid had a strong smell upon the initial unboxing. The mattress smelled for 4 days.
Initial Smell Strength
Strong
Off-Gassing Period
4 days
This is 3.3 days shorter than the average smell duration of 7.3 days.

Company
EGOHome mattresses come with a 100-night trial period and a 10-year warranty. Shipping and returns are both free.
| Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Returns | 40% | 10 | $0 |
| Trial Period | 30% | 8.0 | 100 nights |
| Warranty | 20% | 8.0 | 10 years |
| Shipping | 10% | 10 | $0 |
| Country of Origin | 0% | USA |
Comparing 107+ brands tested to date, the average trial period is 170 nights, 70 nights more than EGOHome offers.
The average warranty is 13 years, which is 3 years more than this mattress, and that’s if we exclude the 41% of mattresses that offer lifetime warranties. Overall, I would have liked to have seen better company policies, but given the price point, it’s certainly not the worst option.

How firm is EGOHOME Tenzura Hybrid?
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid is available in a single firmness, 6 out of 10, which gives the mattress a medium-firm feel.

For most sleepers, this is that sweet spot of support and softness, which works well for a variety of weights.
Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the EGOHOME Tenzura Hybrid is good. During our tests, I felt well supported in all sleeping positions. The mattress is equipped with an 8.0″ support layer. This is 0.08″ thicker than the average support layer thickness of 7.92″, based on all of our tests to date.
In order to create ideal support a mattress needs to both support the body, keeping the spine in a neutral alignment, while also creating sufficient comfort and pressure relief. The Tenzura Hybrid achieves both of those requirements.
| Support Factor | Data |
|---|---|
| Comfort Layer | 5.75″ |
| Support Layer | 8.00″ |
| Firmness | Medium-Firm |
| Body Contour | Balanced |
| Zoned Support | No |
| Reinforced Edge | No |
To be fair, it’s not incredible with respect to pressure relief or overall comfort, but it is sufficient, especially given the price point. This mattress has a medium-firm feel, 6 out of 10 firmness, which is suitable for most body types and sleeping positions.
This mattress does not utilize any type of zoned support. Instead, we have a consistent firmness from head to foot of the mattress. The most significant limiter of support and pressure relief is simply the material quality.
In our examination of the material layers, I found the quality to be perfectly fine, but also far from great. My overall view of this mattress could really be summed up with the simple sentiment, “good, but not great”.

Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
| Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleeper | Side Sleeper | Back Sleeper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 150 lbs. | Maybe | Yes | Yes |
| 150-250 lbs. | Maybe | Yes | Yes |
| 250-300 lbs. | Maybe | Yes | Yes |
Based on all of my tests to date, an analysis of the materials, and my subjective experiences, I’m confident that most sleepers will find support on the EGOHOME Tenzura Hybrid is good.

The Cover
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid has a 0.75″ thick cover. It has a linear look and quasi-tufted accents along the entire top of the mattress. The top is a combination of polyester and Tencel, giving it softness and stretch.

The Comfort Layer
The comfort layer is 5.75″ thick, which includes the 0.75″ quilted cover as a part of the overall comfort layer. Directly below the cover is a 3.0″ poly foam (yellow foam) followed by a 2.0″ layer of memory foam (blue foam).

The materials within the quilted cover, as well as the following 5.0″ of foam, all work together to provide comfort and transitional support above the coils.
The Support Layer
The support layer is 8.00″ thick and made of pocketed coils, where each coil is individually encased in a thin fabric.

Pocketing these coils individually allows each coil to move independently, providing better support, pressure relief, and lower motion.
Product Evolution
The EGOHome Tenzura Hybrid was launched in 2025 as a part of a collection refresh that also included the Tenzura Comfort (all-foam) and the Elysian mattresses.
Since its release, there have been no major changes made to the mattress regarding materials or design.
