Our Verdict
The Diamond Flurry Lux mattress is a 14″ hybrid specifically designed for exceptional cooling performance. In fact, it’s one of the highest-scoring hybrids we’ve tested to date.
It has deep sinkage and moderate bounce with a moderate amount of body contour and hug.
It comes in two different firmness levels: a soft 4 out of 10 or a medium-firm 6 out of 10, where 10 is the most firm. This makes it a good fit for all body types and sleeping positions.
In testing the Diamond Flurry Lux received an overall score of 9.32, placing it in the top 5% of mattresses we’ve tested to date. Compared to other hybrid mattresses it places in the top 2%. The Flurry Lux performed extraordinarily well across the board and is one of the best hybrid mattresses on the market.

How is Diamond Flurry Lux Different?
The Diamond Flurry Lux mattress has better-than-average performance and a price tag that is also above average—38% more than the average hybrid. For a queen mattress, this equates to $526 more dollars spent, but given the better performance, the extra cost would likely be worth it for many sleepers.
Advantages
Other advantages of the Flurry Lux include exceptional cooling performance, 42% lower levels of motion transfer, faster material response time,
Neutral Factors
This mattress has 11% deeper sinkage and 11% less bounce than average. Both sinkage and bounce are considered neutral factors as each individual sleeper may have different ideas of what the “ideal” value is.
Disadvantages
Disadvantages of the Flurry Lux include poorer edge support (11% more sinkage than average) and a slightly shorter trial than average (56 nights shorter than the average).

Cooling Test
Cooling performance on the Diamond Flurry Lux is outstandingly good. In our tests, I felt no significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
80.3° F
Max Temp.
88.7° F
Ending Temp.
81.7° F
The cover has a “cool to the touch” feel when you first lie down. The Flurry Lux uses phase change materials within the cover to create this type of cooling.
Max Temp.

Ending Temp

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
Normally, I’m not blown away with phase change materials, as they usually are cool initially, but heat up like any normal fabric after a few minutes. However, this PCM does seem to be notably better.
Even after lying on the mattress in one spot for a continuous 15 minutes, the cover still had a “cool to the touch” feel.
It does still heat up over time, but not to the same degree as I’ve experienced with other phase change materials.
Beyond the cooling cover, the Diamond Flurry Lux has a hybrid design, which creates plenty of airflow. The graphene poly foam also resists heat retention better compared to memory foam and many types of poly foam.
If we look at our objective data we measured a max temperature of 88.7°F. This is 1.0° cooler than the average max temperature based on all of our tests to date.
Heat dissipation was equally as impressive.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

Over the 5-minute recording period, the mattress was able to reduce the temperature from 88.7° to 81.7° F.
This is a drop of 7.0°, which is 0.7° lower than the average of 7.7°.
When we consider the complete picture of materials, design, subjective analysis, and objective data, it is clear to me that the cooling performance on the Diamond Flurry Lux is exceptionally good.
Sinkage Test
The Diamond Flurry Lux has a deep level of sinkage. In our tests, we measured 2.38” of pressure point sinkage depth. This is 0.23” deeper sinkage than the average of 2.15”.
Sinkage Depth
2.38″
Sinkage Feel
Moderate
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The Flurry Lux has a more balanced and even feel. It uses graphene poly foam instead of memory foam, in combination with a quilted cover.
These comfort layers create a moderate hug and contour around the body. It’s enough to create plenty of pressure relief and allow you to sleep more “in” the mattress, as opposed to “on” it.
However, it’s not so deep or so dramatic around the body that sleepers could potentially feel stuck. Overall, I’m pleased with the sinkage profile and the level of contouring hug provided to the body.
Motion Transfer Test
The Diamond Flurry Lux has an extremely low level of motion transfer. In our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 5.08 m/s².
Max. Acceleration
3.29 m/s²
Min. Acceleration
-1.79 m/s²
Accel. Range
5.08 m/s²
This is 3.72 m/s² less motion transfer compared to the average of 8.80 m/s² (based on all of our tests to date).
The level of motion transfer is documented in the video below.
Looking at our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we see that most of the energy is dissipated by 0.35 seconds. A small, but not zero, level of motion extends to 0.92 seconds.

The best mattresses are able to dissipate all energy by 0.3 seconds. The Flurry Lux isn’t quite to that level, but it’s not far off either.
The Flurry Lux uses 6.0” of foam comfort materials on top of the pocketed coil base. These foams absorb most of the energy, keeping motion transfer to a minimum.
Oftentimes, hybrid mattresses with more durable turfed euro-style covers like this struggle with motion transfer.
As the cover itself can be so dense that it pushes back more abruptly, creating more motion. However, that’s not the case here. We see both excellent durability and material usage alongside extremely low motion transfer.
Response Test
Response time on the Diamond Flurry Lux is very fast. In our tests, we measured a mostly recovered response time of 0.3 seconds and a fully recovered response time of 1.0 seconds.
Mostly Recovered
0.3 sec.
Complete Recovery
1.0 sec.
It’s not quite instant, but still very fast, at least for the mostly recovered measurement.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
On average, based on all of our response time tests to date, we see mattresses mostly rebound in 0.41 seconds and fully rebound in 0.92 seconds.
As a result, Flurry Lux is notably better than average to mostly recover and about average for a full material response.
All that to say, the response speeds we’re seeing here are going to be plenty fast enough for most sleepers. It’s not quite to the level of a traditional innerspring or a latex mattress, but it’s not so slow that it would be bothersome for most sleepers.
Bounce Test
The Diamond Flurry Lux has a moderate level of bounce. In our tests, we measured 8.41” of total bounce height. This is 1.09” less bounce than the average of 9.50”, based on all of our tests to date.
Max. Depth
5.31″
Max. Rebound
3.10″
Total Bounce
8.41″
Typically, I like to see 8-12” of bounce. It’s enough so you’ll see the benefits of ease of movement and improvements for sex, while not being so high as to create higher motion transfer.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
Regarding bounce, the Flurry Lux is in that 8-12” sweet spot. Most sleepers will find this to be an enjoyable level of bounce.
Edge Support Test
Edge support is the one area where I wasn’t overly impressed with the performance. Edge support on the Diamond Flurry Lux is good, just not great.
In our sitting edge support tests, we measured 4.5” of total sitting edge sinkage. This is slightly worse than the average sitting edge sinkage based on all of our tests to date, which is 4.05”.
Max Sinkage
4.50″
Lying Support
Very Good
That said, being average is not where you want to be when it comes to edge support. In general, I’m hoping for 4.0” or less of sitting edge sinkage.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

All that said, while the total sitting sinkage was deeper than I like to see, I did still feel well-supported while sitting on the mattress. There was no material collapse and it was comfortable even when sitting directly on the edge.
Given the total mattress thickness and 6.0” comfort layer, it makes sense that we’d see a little more sitting sinkage. Edge support while lying was similar, good, but not great.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

I am a little surprised at the level of edge support performance. Given the full foam encased perimeter layer I expected better.
When I am lying directly on the edge of the mattress I just don’t feel tremendously well supported.

In terms of design and materials we have:
- The euro-style cover has a tapering downward at the edge
- The 2nd layer is notably tapered, leaving a gap between the top foam and the 3rd layer of foam. This results in easier compression and less than great edge support.
The two above factors are the primary reason why I think we’re seeing worse edge support.
Sex Test
The Diamond Flurry Lux had good sex performance.
Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
---|---|---|---|
Bounce | 65% | 7.7 | Moderate |
Edge Support | 20% | 8.1 | Good |
Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
Pressure Relief | 5% | 10 | Outstanding |
Cooling | 5% | 10 | Outstanding |
The bounce is good, but not exceptionally high. When it comes to sex, more bounce translates to better performance. And on the Flurry Lux, we only see about 8″ of bounce, which just isn’t enough to create the best sex performance.
The same could be said for edge support as well—it’s good, but just not amazing.
Noise, pressure relief, and cooling were all exceptional—perfect 10’s.
Pressure Relief Test
Pressure relief on the Diamond Flurry Lux mattress is outstanding. The mattress has a thick 6.0” comfort layer built from a 2.0” quilted cover, 2.0” graphene poly foam, and 2.0” regular poly foam.
Comfort Layer
6.0″
Support Layer
8.0″
With this much foam, you have both an immediate soft contouring hug and transitional support into the pocketed coil layers. The transitional support in particular is important, as it helps ease sleeper bodies into the more supportive layers.

Many mattresses that lack transitional support cause sleepers to more abruptly come into contact with the supportive base, which creates pressure points. Having 6.0” of appropriately layered comfort material ensures this won’t happen.
Overall, I am pleased with the material choices and design of the Flurry Lux. It’s going to provide more than sufficient pressure relief for virtually all body types.
Off-Gassing Test
Right out of the box, the smell was initially strong. That strong smell lingered for four days before fully off-gassing.
Initial Smell Strength
Strong
Off-Gassing Period
4 days
All in all, these are pretty standard results. Compared to the average off-gassing period of 6 days, the Diamond Flurry Lux is shorter.
Company
The company score takes a look at factors that may influence your experience with the mattress.
Factors include length of the trial period, warranty, shipping / return costs, and country of origin.

The Diamond mattresses come with a 120-night trial period and a 20-year warranty. Shipping is free and the product ships from within the U.S.
If you try out the mattress and decide that it’s just not the right pick for you, you can return it for a full refund.
Compared to the average mattress, the trial is 32% shorter but the warranty is 6.9 years longer.
How firm is the Diamond Flurry Lux?
The Diamond Flurry Lux is available in 2 firmnesses—a medium and a luxury firm. We tested the luxury firm, which is a 6 out of 10 firmness.

The medium I’m estimating at a 4 out of 10 firmness.

Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the Diamond Flurry Lux is excellent. In our tests, I felt well-supported in all sleeping positions. We have plenty of comfort material with 6.0” of foam on top of the mattress and a supportive 8.0” pocketed coil base.
The two work together to alleviate pressure, create transitional support, and provide deep compression support.
The thickness of these respective layers is thick enough that I’m confident the mattress is able to support sleepers up to 300 pounds.
In terms of design, material choices, and build quality, it’s got everything I look for.
Medium / Firm Version

Materials
There are five distinct material layers on the hybrid Diamond Flurry mattress. From top to bottom, the layers include:
- 2.0″ quilted cover
- 2.0″ graphene poly foam
- 1.0″ poly foam
- 1.0″ poly foam
- 8.0″ pocketed coils

The Cover
The cover of the Flurry Lux is a 2.0″ quilted, Euro-style, cover. It has a tufted top and a good degree of contour and hug. The Lux fabric is embedded with cooling fibers that are cool to the touch and continuously draw heat away from your body while sleeping.

There is a gusset around the upper edge for improved breathability, as well as handles along the bottom part of the mattress.

The Comfort Layer
Below the cover is the comfort layer, made up of three layers of foam. There is a 2.0″ layer of graphene foam, and two 1″ layers of poly foams.

The poly foams act a bit like transitional material and help to distribute weight into the support layer and ultimately improve pressure relief.
The Support Layer
The support layer below the foam is an 8.0″ thick pocketed coil system. These coils can move independently of each other, which limits motion transfer and isolates bounce.

All of the coils are also encased with a thick perimeter foam that encircles the mattress. This thick foam improves edge support for both sitting and lying.
Product Evolution
The Diamond Flurry Lux was launched in August 2022 along with the Diamond Lagoon, Diamond Sage, and Diamond Tailor—a full collection of 2022 hybrids. Being that it’s a newer mattress model, there have been no changes to the mattress since it was released.
