How is Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid Different?
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid is a 12.00″ hybrid mattress with an overall performance level that is above average and a price that is significantly below average—a savings of 47% compared to the average hybrid mattress price we’ve tested.
Advantages
Besides the low price, other advantages of the CopperFlex Hybrid include better cooling, lower motion transfer levels, fast material response time, and excellent edge support.
The sex score is better than average as well as impressive pressure relief. The CopperFlex only has a 3.25″ comfort layer (1.06″ thinner than average), but the performance was fantastic.
Lastly, the CopperFlex off-gassed in 5 days, which is 2 days faster than average.
Neutral Factors
This mattress has moderate bounce and moderate sinkage, both of which are preferential factors, and different sleepers will have different preferences.

At the moderate level, the CopperFlex has a balanced feel, which is popular among a wider range of sleepers.
Disadvantages
The biggest disadvantages of the CopperFlex are more at a company level than the mattress itself. Brooklyn Bedding comes with a 120-night trial, which is shorter than average.
Additionally, returns cost $99 if you want to send the mattress back. This can be a deterrent for sleepers who are more unsure of what firmness they want or their exact preferences.
Cooling Test
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid has excellent cooling. During our tests, I did not feel any significant level of heat retention around my body.
Baseline Temp.
76.8° F
Max. Temp.
90.6° F
Ending Temp.
82.0° F
This mattress utilizes a hybrid design, including an 8.0” pocketed coil unit. The coil unit helps to bring more airflow into the mattress. In addition, we have copper-infused memory foam that’s designed to avoid excessive heat.
Max. Temp.

Ending Temp.

- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (5 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
This mattress notably does not include a cooling cover, which is disappointing, but given the $799 price tag is also perfectly understandable. Despite the lack of a cooling cover, in our tests, we measured excellent cooling performance.
In our objective temperature tests, we measured a max surface level temperature of 90.6° F. This is 0.4° warmer than the average of 90.2° F, based on all of our tests to date.
After getting off the mattress, the temperature declined by 3.5 degrees from minutes 0 to 1, which is 1.3 degrees less cool than the average 0 to 1 minute decline of 4.8 degrees.
Heat Dissipation Over Time

When we consider the combination of objective data, my subjective experiences, and an analysis of the materials, I’m confident in my view that cooling is excellent.
Sinkage Test
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid has moderate sinkage. During our tests, we measured a pressure point sinkage depth of 2.14″. This is 0.11″ less sinkage than the average sinkage depth of 2.25″, based on all of our tests to date.
Sinkage Depth
2.14″
Sinkage Feel
Moderate
Body Contour
Balanced
The level of sinkage is documented in the image below.

The mattress creates a balanced body contouring hug. The Copperflex hybrid uses a mix of memory foam, poly foam, and quilted cover, alongside a pocketed coil unit.
This mix of foam and material types helps to deliver a well-rounded, non-polarizing feel that many different types of sleepers will enjoy.
Overall, it just feels like a solid all-around hybrid at an exceptionally fair price.
Motion Transfer Test
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid has a low level of motion transfer. During our tests, we measured a total acceleration range of 7.87 m/s².
Accel. Range
7.87 m/s²
Motion Duration
1.25 seconds
This is 11% less motion transfer than the average of 8.81 m/s². This mattress is equipped with a 1.00” memory foam layer just beneath the quilted cover that’s doing a fantastic job at dispersing energy.
In addition, the coil unit is able to create localized, better-than-average bounce, while at the same time preventing that bounce energy from significantly transferring across the mattress. Together, the high-quality coil unit and memory foam do a great job at keeping motion in check.
The level of motion transfer is also documented in the video below.
In our motion transfer chart, which visualizes our accelerometer data, we can see the highest motion peaks from 0 to 0.2 seconds. Immediately thereafter, motion declines significantly.
By 1.25 seconds, we’ve returned to near-zero levels of energy, which is 0.36 seconds longer than the average motion duration of 0.89 seconds.
Motion Transfer Over Time

While motion duration is longer than average, motion intensity was still below average. When we consider the complete motion picture, I’m happy with what I see, and I expect most sleepers will find it perfectly satisfactory.
Response Test
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid is a mixed bag for material responsiveness, with an extremely fast mostly recovered response time and a fast fully recovered response time.
Mostly Recovered
0.2 sec.
Fully Recovered
0.8 sec.
In our mostly recovered test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.2 seconds, which is 0.22 seconds faster than the average of 0.42 seconds, based on all of our tests to date.
In our fully recovered responsiveness test, we measured a recovery speed of 0.8 seconds, which is 0.22 seconds faster than the average of 1.02 seconds. This mattress uses a mix of different foam types, including memory foam, poly foam, and a quilted cover.
The level of responsiveness is documented in the video below.
The poly foam and quilted cover rebound back to shape quickly; however, the memory foam layer is slower to fully recover back to its original shape.
That one slower layer slows down the entirety of the mattress recovery speed. While the full recovery speed is far from instant, it’s still considered fast compared to the broader spectrum of mattresses we’ve tested. All that to say, I expect most sleepers will find these material recovery speeds satisfactory.
Bounce Test
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid has a moderate level of bounce. During our tests, we measured a total bounce height of 9.90″.
Max. Depth
5.39″
Max. Rebound
4.51″
Total Bounce
9.90″
This is 1.20″ more bounce than the average of 8.70″, based on all of our tests to date. The thinner-than-average 3.25” comfort layer, in combination with the tall 8.0” pocketed coil unit, is creating the right conditions to deliver the higher-than-average level bounce.
The extra bounce makes the ease of movement and sex performance on this mattress better than most.
Max. Sinkage Depth

Max. Bounce Height

The level of bounce is also documented in the video below.
Typically, higher bounce also means higher motion transfer. However, the Copperflex Hybrid did a nice job at localizing the bounce without significantly transferring it across the mattress.
All that to say, this is exactly what we hope to see when it comes to the bounce dynamic on a mattress.
Edge Support Test
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid has outstanding sitting edge support and excellent lying edge support.
Max. Sinkage
3.00″
Lying Support
Excellent
Reinforced Edge
Yes
In our sitting edge support test, we measured a sitting sinkage compression of 3.00″. This is 0.87″ less sitting sinkage than the average of 3.87″, based on all of our tests to date.
The level of edge support while seated is documented in the images below.
Sitting, 140 lbs.

Sitting, 200 lbs.

While lying directly on the edge of the mattress, I felt that the support was excellent in all sleeping positions. This mattress uses reinforced coils along the left and right sides of the mattress.
These coils are making a significant impact on edge support performance for both sitting and lying. Unfortunately, those edge coils do not fully wrap the perimeter. So edge support at the head and the foot isn’t quite as robust.
The level of edge support while lying is documented in the images below.
Lying on Edge, 140 lbs.

Lying on Edge, 200 lbs.

While the lack of reinforced coils along the head and foot isn’t ideal, it’s also likely a design choice aimed at keeping the price lower. As such, I think it’s a perfectly reasonable design choice given the sub $800 price.
Sex Test
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid has excellent sex performance. First up, let’s talk through the positives. The Copperflex Hybrid is a rarity in that it earned excellent or outstanding scores in 4 out of 5 sex testing categories.

The mattress creates minimal noise, has excellent pressure relief and cooling, and outstanding edge support.
In our sitting edge sinkage tests, we measured just 3.00” of sinkage, which is significantly better than the average sinkage depth. The only testing area where the Copperflex Hybrid didn’t earn an amazing score was bounce.
| Sex Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Rating |
|---|---|---|---|
| Bounce | 65% | 8.7 | High |
| Edge Support | 20% | 10 | Outstanding |
| Noise | 5% | 10 | Minimal |
| Pressure Relief | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
| Cooling | 5% | 9.0 | Excellent |
In our bounce tests, we measured 9.90” of total bounce height. That’s more than average, which is great. However, when it comes to sex, more bounce is almost always better.
All that to say, there is still enough bounce in combination with the other sex testing categories that the mattress earned a significantly better-than-average sex score.
Pressure Relief Test
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid has an excellent level of pressure relief. During our tests, I felt no significant pressure points on my body.
Comfort Layer
3.25″
Support Layer
8.75″
Overall, I found the mattress extremely comfortable, which was all the more impressive given the sub $800 price.
The mattress is equipped with 3.25″ of comfort material, which is 1.05″ less comfort material than the average comfort layer thickness of 4.3″, based on all of our tests to date.

Despite the thinner-than-average comfort layer, the quality of the individual foams is excellent, especially relative to the price.
Brooklyn Bedding pours their own custom foam formulations at their own factory, which is quite rare. As a result, they are able to include a level of foam quality and foam thickness that most other brands simply cannot do at this price point.

Overall, I found the mattress creates a well-balanced, non-polarizing feel with strong all-around performance that most sleepers will enjoy. When we consider the pressure relief and broader performance in relation to the price, it is an extraordinary good value.
Lastly, in our objective pressure mapping tests, we measured a max PSI of 0.62, which is well within the max PSI of 1.0 that I want to see.
Pressure Map – Side Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Side Sleepers | 0.10 | 0.44 |
Pressure Map – Back Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Back Sleepers | 0.07 | 0.62 |
Pressure Map – Stomach Sleepers

| Pressure Relief (PSI) | Average | Maximum |
|---|---|---|
| Stomach Sleepers | 0.07 | 0.31 |
When I consider our objective pressure mapping tests, material thickness, material quality, and my subjective experience on the mattress, I’m confident most sleepers will find the pressure relief to be excellent.
Off-Gassing Test
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid had a strong smell upon the initial unboxing. The mattress smelled for 5 days. This is 2.3 days shorter than the average smell duration of 7.3 days.

Company
Brooklyn Bedding mattresses come with a 120-night trial period and a lifetime warranty. Shipping is free. Returns are $99.
| Company Factor | Factor Weight | Score | Data |
|---|---|---|---|
| Returns | 40% | 7.0 | $99 |
| Trial Period | 30% | 8.0 | 120 nights |
| Warranty | 20% | 10 | Lifetime |
| Shipping | 10% | 10 | $0 |
| Country of Origin | 0% | USA |
Comparing 113+ brands tested to date, the average trial period is 193 nights, 73 nights more than Brooklyn Bedding offers.

Brooklyn Bedding does come with a lifetime warranty, which can be an attractive benefit for sleepers who prioritize overall longevity. Especially at this price point, a lifetime warranty is less common among models I’ve tested.
Looking at models priced the same or less than the CopperFlex Hybrid, only 17% offer lifetime warranties.
How firm is Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid?
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid comes in a single firmness, 6 out of 10 on the firmness scale, which creates a medium-firm feel.

This firmness and feel are generally suitable for a wide range of sleepers and preferences.
Support & Sleeping Positions
Support on the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid is excellent. During our tests, I felt well supported in all sleeping positions.
| Support Factor | Data |
|---|---|
| Comfort Layer | 3.25″ |
| Support Layer | 8.75″ |
| Firmness | Medium-Firm |
| Body Contour | Balanced |
| Zoned Support | No |
| Reinforced Edge | Yes |
The mattress is equipped with an 8.75″ support layer. This is 0.84″ thicker than the average support layer thickness of 7.91″, based on all of our tests to date.
In all mattress tests, we make it a point to cut the mattress open to examine the material quality. In doing so, I’m pleased with what I see. The foams all look and feel high quality, both on the body and in-hand.
In addition, this mattress is only available in a single firmness, medium-firm. That’s a 6 out of 10 on our firmness scale, where 10 is the most firm. The medium-firm feel is appropriate to all sleeping positions and most sleepers.

Check out the table below to see the sleeper weights and sleeping positions that would be best suited for this mattress.
| Sleeper Weight | Stomach Sleeper | Side Sleeper | Back Sleeper |
|---|---|---|---|
| Under 150 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 150-250 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| 250-300 lbs. | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Moving on, this mattress does not utilize zoned support. Instead, we have a consistent level of firmness and support across the entirety of the mattress.
Ideally, I’d prefer to see zoned support, but it’s also typical not to have that on less expensive mattresses. The coil unit includes 760 individual coils and utilizes reinforced edge support coils along the left and right sides of the mattress.
Overall, I found the support dynamic to be fantastic. It creates a firmness that meets the needs of most sleepers, while simultaneously delivering excellent pressure and incredibly strong all-around performance.
Comparing all other sub-$800 mattresses we’ve tested to date, the Copperflex Hybrid is the new #1 best we’ve tested so far (see the full list here).
It is an extraordinarily strong performer and high-quality mattress relative to the $799 price.
Based on all of my tests to date, an analysis of the materials, and my subjective experiences, I’m confident that most sleepers will find support on the Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid to be excellent

Product Evolution
The Brooklyn Bedding CopperFlex Hybrid was launched in late 2024, along with a handful of other CopperFlex models. There are 2 all-foam models and 2 hybrids. And within the models, there are essentially 2 tiers—standard and Pro.
- CopperFlex (all foam)
- CopperFlex Hybrid (this review)
- CopperFlex Pro (all foam)
- CopperFlex Pro Hybrid
The Pro models come at a higher price, but offer a thicker profile, zoned support, and better cooling performance.
In January 2026, Brooklyn Bedding updated the Copperflex line with the following changes (according to representatives from Brooklyn Bedding):
- Updates to the foam formulations designed to improve pressure relief and responsiveness (exact foam changes were not disclosed)
- Updates to layer thicknesses and layer designs (we did not test the Copperflex Hybrid version prior to 2026, so it’s unclear exactly how those layers changed. Comparing the 2026 layer design to the 2024 design on the Copperflex and Copperflex Hybrid Pro versions we see that the changes look relatively minor).

Glacier Original
365-Night Trial

For Deeper Sinkage

Boring Hybrid
Ultra Fast Responsiveness
The Boring Hybrid is a 10″ hybrid mattress available in 1 firmness level—medium-firm. This is another great option, priced right under $800. It’s 2″ thinner than the CopperFlex, but still has great pressure relief (9/10) and solid scores across the board in other categories as well.
