Our Verdict
DreamCloud is a classic name in the online mattress space, specializing in memory foam, hybrids, and memory foam hybrids.
When it comes to firmness, DreamCloud does not offer the full range of options sleepers could want. Instead, their mattresses all have a firmness level between 5 and 6, medium to medium-firm. These are the most popular options and are suitable for the widest range of sleepers.
In our tests, the entire DreamCloud lineup earned a performance score of 8.71. This is a notch above the average score of 8.53. As for price, an average queen-size DreamCloud model costs $1,387, which is 7% less expensive than the average mattress we’ve tested to date.
All in all, DreamCloud is a brand that lives up to their goal of offering exceptional value. However, their mattresses don’t quite excel the way more luxury-themed brands have in our tests.
The Classic Collection represents the most affordable options from the brand, starting at $699 for a queen-size mattress, and they maintain solid performance for pressure relief, cooling, and motion transfer.
The Premier Collection is the best value for most sleepers. At $1,099 to $1,199, the premier models strike a fantastic balance between our 8 performance categories for an affordable price.
The Luxe Collection starts providing a true luxury feel with models as thick as 14.5″. For either $1,499 or $1,599, sleepers get more memory foam, extra cooling fibers, and top-tier pressure relief.
The Ultra Collection includes the thickest, most luxurious sleeping experience from DreamCloud, but it comes with a few trade-offs, like a less lively surface that’s not as good for sex. It’s also the most expensive, topping off at $2,199 for a queen.

Which Mattress Should You Buy?
The mattresses earning the title for “best overall” from each brand have the highest overall performance. Overall performance is determined by scores from 8 different categories, including cooling, motion transfer, response time, edge support, sex performance, pressure relief, off-gassing, and company.
Sinkage and bounce are also taken into consideration, but they are not direct scoring factors.
Among all DreamCloud mattresses, our top recommendation is the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid.
Best DreamCloud
DreamCloud Premier Hybrid

Type: Hybrid
Firmness: Medium-Firm (6)
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is a 13.5″ hybrid mattress with a thick quilted cover, memory foam, poly foam, pocketed coils, and a support foam base. It has a medium-firm feel with moderate sinkage and low bounce. Its 9.08 score ranks it among the top 17% of mattresses tested to date, and its $1,099 price tag is 27% less expensive than the average mattress. While it doesn’t quite hit the highest marks in any of the big categories, it is still a fantastic option for sleepers of all sleeping positions and most body weights.

Firmness
Looking at all available mattresses we’ve tested, DreamCloud ranges in firmness from 5 to 6 out of 10.
These firmness ratings are among the most popular and are suitable for the vast majority of sleepers. However, this means DreamCloud does not offer a distinctly soft or firm mattress.
Check the table below to see the details of each mattress.
| Firmness | Rating | Feel |
|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Classic | 6 | Medium-Firm |
| DreamCloud Hybrid | 6 | Medium-Firm |
| DreamCloud Luxe | 6 | Medium-Firm |
| DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid | 6 | Medium-Firm |
| DreamCloud Premier | 6 | Medium-Firm |
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid | 6 | Medium-Firm |
| DreamCloud Ultra | 5 | Medium |
| DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid | 5 | Medium |
Not sure which firmness you need? Your ideal mattress firmness depends on two major factors—sleeping position and body weight. With the right firmness, your body and spine will maintain proper alignment when sleeping.

Lightweight sleepers or those who sleep on their side tend to need a softer mattress. By comparison, heavier sleepers or those who sleep on their back or stomach tend to need more support and a firmer feel.

Cooling Test
DreamCloud knows how to make a breathable mattress, but they aren’t the absolute best when it comes to cooling.
Across their four hybrid models, DreamCloud earned an average cooling performance score of 8.8, with scores ranging from 8.0 to 9.0.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding cooling.
| Cooling Test | Score | Baseline | Max. Temp. | Ending Temp. |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Hybrid | 8.0 | 75.9° | 92.0° | 80.6° |
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid | 9.0 | 73.5° | 90.9° | 81.8° |
| DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid | 9.0 | 75.4° | 90.5° | 81.0° |
| DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid | 9.0 | 78.7° | 89.9° | 80.3° |
- Baseline Temperature – the temperature of the mattress before anyone lies on it
- Maximum Temperature (0 minute) – the temperature of the mattress after lying on it for 15 minutes
- Ending Temperature (after 5 minutes) – the temperature of the mattress after being lied upon and having no one on it for 5 minutes
Below, you can watch a video of how the heat dissipates on each mattress during our cooling test. For this test, we lie on the mattress for 15 minutes, get off the mattress, and then take periodic surface-level temperature measurements.
DreamCloud Hybrid
DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid
DreamCloud Premier Hybrid
DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid
The average cooling score across all mattresses tested to date is 8.6.
While all of these mattresses benefit from the increased breathability of a hybrid design, only the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid, Luxe Hybrid, and Ultra Hybrid perform above average.
Each DreamCloud model includes more and better cooling materials within the cover and top memory foam layers for each tier level. The Premier Hybrid, for example, uses gel-infused foam to increase heat dissipation, where the Luxe and Ultra models use copper-infused foam. Both are used to pull heat away from the body.

Furthermore, there are more cooling fibers woven into the covers for each model. As we get to the DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid, they include phase-change material that absorbs heat better and provides a cool-to-the-touch sensation to its surface.
Of course, the amount of foam increases with each price tier, and this seems to offset the added cooling materials. The good news is that all DreamCloud Hybrids should be more than adequate for the average sleeper in terms of cooling, especially the ones above the Classic model.
Sinkage Test
When it comes to sinkage, DreamCloud models lean towards offering deeper sinkage than average. They market themselves around their plush euro-top covers that provide a “hotel-like” feel, and this is consistent with what we measured.
DreamCloud mattresses have an average sinkage depth of 2.37″, with models as minimal as 2.10″ and others as deep as 2.65″.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding sinkage.
| Sinkage Test | Sinkage Feel | Sinkage Depth |
|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Hybrid | Deep | 2.48″ |
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid | Moderate | 2.24″ |
| DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid | Moderate | 2.10″ |
| DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid | Very Deep | 2.65″ |
The level of sinkage for each mattress is documented in the images below.
DreamCloud Hybrid

DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid

DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid

The average sinkage depth across all mattresses tested to date is 2.21″.
The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid is the only mattress to have less sinkage than average, but that doesn’t mean it won’t be suitable for side sleeping. There’s a bit more pushback than we see on the other models, but the extra foam in its comfort layer still provides plenty of room for heavier bodies to sink down before hitting the coil unit.
The DreamCloud Premier Hybrid is right about at this average level. Combined with its 4.5″ comfort layer, it is well-suited for all sleeping positions and body weights up to 300 lbs.

We measured the most sinkage on the DreamCloud Hybrid and DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid, but they have drastically different price points and amounts of foam. If you just need something serviceable, the DreamCloud Hybrid is solid for side sleeping, especially. For very deep sinkage and a dramatic contour around your body, the Ultra Hybrid is the way to go.
Motion Transfer Test
DreamCloud truly shines when it comes to motion transfer. Among the four hybrid models, they earned an average motion transfer score of 9.4, with all scores above a 9.0.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding motion transfer.
| Motion Transfer Test | Score | Acc. Range |
|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Hybrid | 9.2 | 6.79 m/s² |
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid | 9.7 | 5.71 m/s² |
| DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid | 9.8 | 5.38 m/s² |
| DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid | 9.2 | 6.68 m/s² |
The level of motion transfer on each mattress is also documented in the videos below.
DreamCloud Hybrid
DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid
DreamCloud Premier Hybrid
DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid
The average motion transfer score across all mattresses tested to date is 8.2.
The best performing DreamCloud in our motion transfer tests was the DreamCloud Luxe, with the Premier Hybrid close behind. Realistically, all of these models should be more than adequate for most sleepers.
The design of their quilted cover and their use of memory foam, especially the models with more foam, is an effective combination at isolating motion. The cover also includes a unique “scalloped” design that includes fairly deep crevices that may further break the motion from transferring.
If you’re looking for a mattress you can share with a partner with little risk of disturbing each other with movement, DreamCloud is a phenomenal choice.
Response Test
Faster responding materials aid in ease of movement and avoid that stuck feeling, most exemplified in memory foam.
DreamCloud mattresses are exceptionally responsive, with two exceptions. These outliers bring the average response time score for DreamCloud down to 8.3.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding response.
| Response Test | Score | Mostly Recovered | Completely Recovered |
|---|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Hybrid | 9.3 | 0.3 seconds | 0.6 seconds |
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid | 9.3 | 0.3 seconds | 0.6 seconds |
| DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid | 8.9 | 0.4 seconds | 0.6 seconds |
| DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid | 5.0 | 1.0 seconds | 2.2 seconds |
The level of responsiveness for each mattress is documented in the videos below.
DreamCloud Hybrid
DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid
DreamCloud Premier Hybrid
DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid
The average response score across all mattresses tested to date is 8.8.
As you can see from the videos above, the speed decreases with each more expensive model. The memory foam layers get thicker, and the foam itself appears increasingly denser, especially on the Ultra Hybrid.

This is the trade-off with a more luxurious feeling memory foam. So those wanting better pressure relief and greater hug around your body, you will get this on the Ultra Hybrid at the cost of slower responding material.
If a lively, responsive surface is important to you, the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid and Luxe Hybrid are both well-above average and have excellent pressure relief.
Bounce Test
Bounce is another measurement that affects how lively a surface feels. DreamCloud Hybrids follow the exact same pattern as response time, where models become progressively less bouncy as their thickness increases.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding bounce.
| Bounce Test | Bounce Feel | Bounce Height |
|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Hybrid | Moderate | 9.05″ |
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid | Low | 7.26″ |
| DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid | Very Low | 4.90″ |
| DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid | Very Low | 5.38″ |
The level of bounce for each mattress is documented in the videos below.
DreamCloud Hybrid
DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid
DreamCloud Premier Hybrid
DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid
The average bounce across all mattresses tested to date is 8.74″.
The only model with more bounce than average is the DreamCloud Hybrid, and this is mostly due to the thinner comfort layer. As we saw with response time, these affordable models use less dense foam that doesn’t absorb motion as much as the Luxe and Ultra hybrids do.
At 7.26″ of bounce, the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid starts to feel a bit more sluggish and will start feeling like a hindrance to movement.

As we get to the Luxe and Ultra Hybrid models, sleepers will certainly notice a lack of pushback and liveliness. This creates a more cozy, dead feeling surface that is preferable to some and not enjoyable to others.
Mattresses with more bounce are better for ease of movement and increase sex performance. However, higher bounce also typically creates a higher level of motion transfer. So there are pros and cons when it comes to bounce.
Edge Support Test
When it comes to edge support, we measure the compression of the mattress while sitting and assess the ability to lie at the absolute edge without sliding off.
In this regard, DreamCloud models are generally good, but they become less supportive with each thicker version.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding edge support.
| Edge Support Test | Score | Sitting Sinkage | Lying Support |
|---|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Hybrid | 8.9 | 3.25″ | Good |
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid | 9.1 | 3.75″ | Excellent |
| DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid | 8.2 | 4.25″ | Good |
| DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid | 7.8 | 5.00″ | Good |
The level of edge support is documented in the images below.
DreamCloud Hybrid

DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid

DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid

The average edge support score across all mattresses tested to date is 8.7.
By this measure, the Classic Hybrid and Premier Hybrid models are solidly supportive for both sitting and lying at the edge. The Premier Hybrid felt especially good while lying on the edge, with little fear of sliding off.

The DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid and Ultra Hybrids feel a bit more precarious to sleep at the edge. Their thicker comfort layers help distribute weight more evenly than the thinner models, but the level of compression from the foam still had me slightly worried about rolling off.
In the end, the DreamCloud mattresses should be fine to use for sitting while you get ready in the morning, but you may want to sleep a little further from the edge during the night.
Sex Test
We use a weighted formula to calculate our sex score on each mattress, which includes bounce, edge support, noise, pressure relief, and cooling. Bounce and edge support are the heaviest weighted categories.
That said, we see that same pattern with DreamCloud mattresses, where the thinner models have higher sex scores and the thicker models have lower. On average, the DreamCloud models have a sex score of 7.4.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding sex.
| Sex Test | Sex Score | Bounce | Edge Support | Noise | Pressure Relief | Cooling |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Hybrid | 8.5 | 8.1 | 9.7 | 10 | 8.0 | 8.0 |
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid | 7.8 | 7.0 | 9.1 | 10 | 9.0 | 9.0 |
| DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid | 6.7 | 5.5 | 8.4 | 10 | 9.0 | 9.0 |
| DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid | 6.7 | 5.8 | 7.5 | 10 | 10 | 9.0 |
The average sex score across all mattresses tested to date is 8.2. Once again, the DreamCloud Classic Hybrid is the only one to beat this average metric. The thicker models simply struggle with worse edge support and less bounce.
On the plus side, the mattresses are all exceptionally discreet and create a negligible amount of noise, as well as having excellent cooling.

Both the Luxe and Ultra Hybrid models are memory foam hybrids that earned a 6.7 sex score. This will undoubtedly be noticeable by those used to a traditional coil mattress that has a strong edge and a bouncy surface.
That said, the high-end DreamCloud mattresses won’t end your sex life – rather, certain amorous activities may feel far more strenuous. It’s up to you if the more luxurious feel and better pressure relief are worth this trade-off.
Pressure Relief Test
Next, let’s talk about pressure relief. Here we see DreamCloud mattresses score higher and higher as we increase in price tier.
The DreamCloud Hybrids earned an average pressure relief score of 9.0, with the lowest score at an 8.0 and the highest at a 10/10.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding pressure relief.
| Pressure Relief Test | Score | Comfort Layer | Support Layer |
|---|---|---|---|
| DreamCloud Hybrid | 8.0 | 3.50″ | 9.00″ |
| DreamCloud Premier Hybrid | 9.0 | 4.50″ | 9.00″ |
| DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid | 9.0 | 5.00″ | 9.00″ |
| DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid | 10 | 6.00″ | 9.00″ |
The average pressure relief score across all mattresses tested to date is 8.6. Therefore, only the DreamCloud Hybrid has less pressure relief than average. But at less than half the average mattress price, a slightly worse score is quite impressive.
The best DreamCloud mattress in terms of pressure relief is the DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid. This mattress has a 6.00″ comfort layer that includes a solid, 3″ layer of quality memory foam. On top of a very deep level of sinkage, it offers a dramatic contouring hug around one’s body. I felt absolutely no pressure point build up in our tests.
The materials included in each mattress are documented in the images below.
DreamCloud Hybrid

DreamCloud Ultra Hybrid

DreamCloud Premier Hybrid

DreamCloud Luxe Hybrid

While the DreamCloud Premier Hybrid and DreamCloud Luxe Hybrids do not quite reach this 10/10 level that the Ultra Hybrid did, their 9.0 scores reflect a fantastic level of pressure relief. Both of these mattresses have thicker comfort layers compared to the average 4.23″ we’ve found across our 400+ tests completed to date.
Total thickness isn’t everything, as the quality of the materials and the transition from comfort to support both play a large part in pressure relief. DreamCloud mattresses have superior comfort and pressure relief, especially when you reach the $1,099 price tier of the Premier Hybrid.
Off-Gassing Test
For off-gassing, we measure the intensity of the mattress smell upon its initial unboxing and the time that smell takes to dissipate.
DreamCloud mattresses are aggressively average in this category.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding off-gassing.
| Off-Gassing Test | Score | Initial Smell | Smell Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dreamcloud Hybrid | 8.1 | Strong | 7 days |
| Dreamcloud Premier Hybrid | 8.1 | Strong | 7 days |
| Dreamcloud Luxe Hybrid | 8.1 | Strong | 7 days |
| Dreamcloud Ultra Hybrid | 8.3 | Strong | 6 days |
The average smell duration across all mattresses tested to date is 7.13 days.
The DreamCloud Hybrid models have a strong polyurethane smell that lasts this average length of time to complete off-gassing, except the Ultra Hybrid, which was slightly quicker.

If you’re particularly sensitive to synthetic odors, DreamCloud does not offer a more natural alternative that won’t include this sort of smell. In this case, your best bet is to unbox your new DreamCloud in another room and replace your current mattress after a week or so.
Company
Finally, let’s discuss the broad terms and conditions that may influence you choosing a DreamCloud mattress over other brands. When it comes to these basic policies, DreamCloud is exceptional in its consumer-friendly offerings.

DreamCloud mattresses come with a 365-night trial period, a lifetime warranty, free shipping, and free returns. They also manufacture their mattresses in the USA.
These policies earned them a 10/10 score, as they check every box a modern consumer could want from an online mattress company.
Check out the table below to see how each mattress compares regarding company policies.
| Company | DreamCloud |
|---|---|
| Score | 10 |
| Trial Period | 365 nights |
| Warranty | Lifetime |
| Shipping | $0 |
| Returns | $0 |
| Country of Origin | USA |
To date, we have tested 403+ mattresses from 107 different brands. The average trial length is 170 nights and the average warranty is 13 years, excluding 42% of mattresses that offer lifetime warranties.
These lifetime warranties come with a far amount of fine print, but here are the most important bullet points from their “Forever Warranty”:
- Must have an indentation of 1.5″ or greater
- After 10 years, you will be charged a $50 shipping fee
- Mattress must be used on a “firm, solid-surface” that is suitable for supporting your weight
