Is The DreamCloud Mattress Good For Back Pain?

Derek Hales

Updated

The DreamCloud mattress is good, but not great, for people with back pain. It has a few benefits going for it, like its slightly firmer feel and hybrid design.

But pressure relief is not quite where we’d like to see it, and the response time is a little slow.

If you have back pain, firmness is one of the most critical factors in a mattress. It is important to choose a mattress firm enough to maintain proper spine alignment, without providing excess pushback.

For this reason, I would recommend the DreamCloud Luxury Hybrid or DreamCloud Premier over the DreamCloud Premier Rest for sleepers with back pain.

The DreamCloud Premier has the fastest response time among all DreamCloud mattresses tested, being mostly recovered by 0.9 seconds. While this isn’t the fastest we’ve seen, it should still be sufficient to help provide consistent spinal support.

All DreamCloud mattresses also do a nice job of limiting motion transfer. The DreamCloud Premier has the highest level of motion transfer among all 3 mattresses (5.67 m/s²), but this is still well below the average level of 7.82 m/s².

The DreamCloud Premier Rest is nearly half these levels, topping out at 2.62 m/s²—fantastic performance.

Limited motion transfer allows for a more even degree of support across the whole mattress, which in turn can help prevent back pain.
