How Firm is the Ashley Sleep Mattress?

Derek Hales

Published

The Ashley Sleep mattresses we’ve tested vary in firmness from 4 out of 10 to 8 out of 10, where 10 is the most firm. This helps make the mattress suitable for a wide range of sleeping positions and body types.

Our team has tested the Ashley Sleep Gruve memory foam mattress, the Ashley Sleep Gruve Hybrid mattress, and the Ashley Sleep Align Ultra Luxury Firm Tight Top mattress. Each model is available in several versions of varying firmness, from soft to firm.

Generally, softer mattresses work best for side sleepers and lightweight sleepers. Heavier people and back or stomach sleepers may benefit more from a firmer mattress because it provides increased support.

For example, the 14″ version of the Gruve Hybrid mattress is relatively soft (4 out of 10), making it suitable for users under 150 pounds, regardless of their sleeping position. However, it can also be a good fit for side sleepers weighing up to 225 pounds or more.

If you’re on the heavier side, you’d be better off with the firm version of the Ashley Sleep Align Ultra mattress.
