Most Sealy mattresses are not organic. The vast majority of Sealy mattresses are made with polyurethane foam and affordability in mind. Polyurethane is a synthetic material, and the process for an organic certification raises the price point of a mattress considerably.

While “organic” is a bit of a buzzword, the mattress industry does have third-party certifications that have become the gold standard for what is and isn’t considered organic.
The most popular certifications seen in mattresses are Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Global Organic Latex Standard (GOLS). Look for these on the marketing material or on the mattress’s online product page.
Customers are most likely familiar with their traditional innerspring and memory foam beds available at Costco and other brick-and-mortar stores.
Sealy also offers a specific eco-friendly line called Sealy Natural that incorporates some organic materials, but availability is limited. It is not sold directly through Sealy and appears to be available only through select third-party retailers.
