Updated

Yes. Of all three GhostBed mattresses we have tested, the average score is 9.03 out of 10.

The average of all mattresses tested (200+ mattresses) is 8.63. With this standard, all GhostBed mattresses perform above average.

How Do We Score?

To generate these scores we assess each mattress across the board by looking at 8 different performance factors (as well as subjective factors like sinkage and bounce, which are more preferential).

NapLab performance categories include:

  1. Cooling
  2. Motion Transfer
  3. Response
  4. Edge Support
  5. Sex
  6. Pressure Relief
  7. Off-Gassing
  8. Company

Pressure Relief9.09.09.010
Off-Gassing9.48.98.64.7
Company9.09.29.29.2

As the scores show, GhostBed really had outstanding performance across the board. The only troublesome score we see across all tests and mattresses is off-gassing on the GhostBed 3D Matrix.

Even lower scores like cooling and edge support on the Classic are still in the green and not considered poor by any stretch. Still, let’s talk about them anyway.

Cooling on the Classic is good, but not as good as on the Flex or the Luxe. The Flex has the advantage of support coils (great for cooling) and the Luxe has an advanced phase-change cover, a clear cooling advantage over the GhostBed Classic.

Ghostbed Classic Edge Support

Edge support on the Classic leaves a bit to be desired, but is far from the worst we’ve seen. In our tests, we measured 4.5″ of sinkage when sitting directly at the edge.

Generally, I prefer to see sinkage less than 4.0″, but even at 4.5″ this mattress isn’t too far from the average edge sinkage of 4.3″. Despite having deeper edge sinkage, the lying support on this mattress was excellent.
