Are Beautyrest Mattresses Worth It?

Derek Hales

Published

According to our testing data, Beautyrest may only be worth it for sleepers who can afford the more expensive models in the Black collection. Even then, these models are only slightly better than average in terms of performance, while approaching nearly 3X the average mattress price.

Based on 400+ mattresses tested to date, the average mattress score is 8.51, and the median score is 8.66 (used in Score Rank in the table below).

The Beautyrest Black is the best-performing Beautyrest model that ranks within the top 40% of all mattresses. However, its price is 172% more expensive than the average mattress we test. To many, this top 40% ranking position may not be worth spending 2.7X more.

The Beautyrest Black Hybrid scored in the bottom 44% of all mattresses, yet it’s even more expensive at 2.8X the average mattress price. To find this ratio of performance to price “worth it”, one would need to strongly prefer the Beautyrest Black Hybrid’s feel and comfort dynamic.

The remaining Beautyrest models are much more affordable, but perform well below the average level. That being said, the value of any mattress will depend largely on how much you value each performance factor.
